Experience at Preto

The experience at this Brazilian all-you-can-eat restaurant was disappointing. The salad bar quality was quite poor, with limited fresh options. The meat service started off okay, but the portions were sliced extremely thin, and some cuts seemed undercooked.
At the beginning, servers came around a few times, but then they stopped coming to our table altogether and focused only on new customers. It felt like once we had paid, we were no longer a priority.
Overall, the experience did not match expectations for this type of restaurant. I wouldn’t return.

Amazing Dining Experience!

Amazing Dining Experience!
I had an incredible time at this steakhouse! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, but the service and food truly stole the show.
Highlights of the Night:
• The Meat Master: A huge shoutout to Rui, the meat carver. He is a true artist! Every cut he brought to our table was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and sliced with expert precision. You can tell he takes great pride in what he does.
• Top-Notch Service: I also want to commend our two waiters for their hospitality. They were incredibly professional and made us feel right at home throughout the entire meal. It’s rare to find such a dedicated team.
Final Verdict: If you're looking for high-quality meats and a staff that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Disappointing Experience at Preto…

Disappointing Experience at Preto Queensway – Not Worth the Hype or the Price

We visited Preto Queensway on Saturday as a group of mums with our children, celebrating Eid. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing from start to finish.

Firstly, the service was extremely slow. Despite it being a rodízio-style restaurant, we weren’t able to try all the meats, which defeats the purpose of going to such a place. The food was also not something that can reasonably be enjoyed within a short time. To our surprise, we were approached by a waitress who told us to speed up and leave because the table was booked for someone else. The way this was communicated was quite rude and unprofessional, especially given the occasion we were celebrating.

On top of that, the bill was confusing and inaccurate. I ended up being charged for items I didn’t even have. Thankfully, I checked the bill carefully and raised the issue before my friend paid, but it created unnecessary stress and confusion.

For the price we paid, the quality of service and overall experience were simply not worth it. Sadly, we left feeling rushed, unwelcome, and disappointed. I will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend this location to others, especially for group celebrations.

We visited the Colchester Preto as a party of six and what a poor experience. The food was not great. We seemed to wait for ever to get the food and when we did get it, we seemed to have the scraps. They served the other end of the resteraunt first and by the time they got to us there was the worst bits left. The steak was so rare it could have got up and walked. We asked for it to be well done when they come round again and we never saw them again. Turn the card over when you want more they said before we started. That worked when we first started but then we didn't see anyone again. All okay if you just want to eat a sausage. Never again.

Just don't bother

I have been in multiple Brazilian restaurants across the globe (Rodizio being one of my favourite chains). Now I thought Preto would be at least similar. Boy was I wrong. The salad bar and first bit of beef were still ok. What followed afterwards was not a pleasant experience. The lamb was mutton (at least tasted like mutton), chicken seriously over cooked and ultra dry, atmosphere wise it felt like they wanted us out as quickly as possible. Hence going there again is an absolute no go.

went to preto islington. I ve been to about 20 rodizios over 30 years in various towns and countrys. Spain. Brazil.argentina. USA. london various ones . Glasgow. this is by far the worst one i have ever been to. Had lunch mini rodizio and they plonked a plate of meat in front of me with about 5 bits of meat 2 small chicken wings a small sausage and a bit of beef and lamb. Not even the spit that makes it the experience. Utter rubbish . do yourself a favour and avoid these charlatans . Please avoid at all costs (the standard con of a service charge in london that i notice used to be confined to the west end and has now infected other parts of london as well) it was my birthday and they ruined it

We had food poisoning at this resultant !
BE AWARE !!!!!!
Honestly I am surprised that this restaurant have many positive reviews ! It’s very Cheap place , cheap decoration , cheap food ingredient , expensive bill £32.50 per adult without any drinks , be prepared to pay 12% service charge which is illegal in the UK , they don’t inform you about that before you set down ! Do not pay the service charge in UK no such service charge just say you won’t pay it and they will remove ir .
Very salty meat be aware again the add too much salt if you have blood pressure then you will die at this restaurant for sure .
The food itself is over salted! You just eat salt with meat 🍖. Good luck guys and I will never again enter this place . I am Londoner and I just wasted my money today , we went home we got Diarrhea and vomiting all night , I contacted the restaurant by email since one week no response , I disputed on the payment and they never response, and I just lost £90.45 for nothing was awful experience. Take my ward you will regret if you enter this place

Attitude given because we asked to remove the 12.5% service charge.

We viewed the menu outside and were welcomed in by I believe the manager. We decided to eat here and were seated. The food was fresh and we enjoyed our meal, but asked for the service charge to be removed which was 12.5% ontop of our £69.00 bill. The manager explained the charge goes to the staff, but removed it as we asked. He then told our server we had asked for the service charge to be removed and pointed at our table. They both then looked over at us odd. After that we were given our bill and he walked off. Not even a thank you for coming, when previously he had been super attentive. I think that was very rude and unprofessional. We will NOT be returning or advising others to, after the trying to make us uncomfy for not wanting to pay the service charge.

A miserable, embarrassing experience

I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants and this one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I work in Piccadilly Circus and decided, on the spur of the moment, to have a meal with four Brazilian work colleagues at the local Preto restaurant. The service was rude and intrusive with the waiter constantly interrupting us. The plates and cutlery had not been cleaned properly and were dirty with particles of dried food on them. The salad was warm and pathetically presented. The meat was undercooked and inedible. The five of us were cramped on to a table for four. The entire experience was a miserable embarrassment. My Brazilian friends were deeply ashamed that this is supposed to represent Brazilian cuisine and hospitality. They even had the cheek to charge a £25 tip. A truly awful experience.

Went in to dine at 3.30

Went in to dine at 3.30 - happily served us but failed to mention they were about to take the whole lunch buffet away and bring out the evening buffet, which we weren't to eat!! The service was poor, with the waiter constantly coming to our table whilst we were trying to talk.

Had to ask them to refill all of the empty options on offer, which they weren't happy about - but we had paid for the buffet! Terrible service and then they had the audacity to take a £12 tip without asking our permission, which we would have never given for the poor service. The steak was so chewy, i couldn't swallow it. Drinks were overpriced. Last time we eat here.

POOR

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit to your restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience was not up to expectations.

1. **Food Quality**: The quality of the food was disappointing. It lacked flavor and was quite bland, which made the meal less enjoyable.

2. **Customer Service**: The customer service was also below par. The staff seemed unengaged, and the service felt slow and inattentive.

I hope this feedback helps in improving the experience for future customers. Thank you for taking the time to consider my comments.

Too good to go app

Just ordered a too good to go lunch time deal, had some great food from this app. OH how wrong i was with Preto. For £5 you get some plain rice, soggy chips, two small pieces of burnt bread and two tiny sausages. Wheres the Brazilian buffet!? I could have cooked plain rice and burnt some bread at home and saved myself the hassle. What a joke

Simply Stunning!

The food was amazing and the service extremely friendly. The meat skewers were constantly bought to the table, all of which was cooked to perfection and a suitable range for all tastes. So glad we decided to have a dessert as the Cheesecake we had was superb. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience at Colchester. Can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Can I give 0 star?

I didn’t know I could make a review about them in Trust Pilot too. Now that I figured it out, I really want to share our experience back to December 2021, and nobody falls on the same as we did. We went to Preto West End London to eat a “traditional Brazilian food”, and we asked for the vegetarian menu. First of all: if you can’t give a decent food and service, don’t offer. For people who eat “all you can eat, including red meat”, they can be easily “entertained” with the meats that come and go all the time. If you ask for the vegetarian, you need to wait for them to bring you the plates. Look, if you sell vegetarian menu, and YOU KNOW, the people will not have “the meat entertainment”, why in this Earth do you take 30 minutes? You read well, I’m not exaggerating: 30 MINUTES to bring the plates while all the restaurant was already eating, even people who arrived later than you? The waitress told us all the plates were for two people, than we asked one of each. If at least the foods worthwhile… but no. Nothing. I’ll gonna tell you about all the craps they brought us, one by one: the beans, no taste at all, no garlic, like the Brazilians do. And completely watering, I found difficult to find the beans, to be honest. Rice: no taste at all, no garlic, no seasoning. Farofa: crap. They just put the cassava flour there with nothing else. Usually Brazilians use eggs, garlic, onions, butter to prepare it (or even bacon, sausage, when is not vegetarian), but theirs, was just the flour. Plus, remember the waitress told they were for two people? A portion barely was for one child (and we thought: even IF were good, and we asked more, will take half an hour to arrive), vinagrete: super acid, with the portion, the same as the farofa. Spring beans: ok, with garlic enough like Brazilians do, but full of oil. We ate there the oil allowed for a week. The sweet potato: old, were there for 3 days minimum, we couldn’t eat half of this. The pão de queijo (cheese bread), hard (if your teeth were not good enough, you could lose some eating it), no taste of cheese at all. In Brazil there’s a branch cheap and bad called “Duduxo”. Man, Duduxo it’s better than this. Cheese bread must be done at the time, cause it becomes a bit tough after few hours, and you can’t heat again, plus, you need to include cheese, otherwise just taste like the starch included in it. The cassava fried, was fried hours before, cause was really hard to eat. For two remember? Came 3 cassavas, thanks God, cause was really bad.
And now, the best, the bombshell. The best of the best: the french fries. We asked one portion (and came a shamed portion, so we asked one more). And wait! Do you know what the waitress told us??? If you are standing up, please, sit down. “the french fries finished”. Hahahahhahah. Finished, man. I don’t believe. What steakhouse finishes the french fries? What kind of manager is this??? Any decent one would go even to Tesco close by and purchase it in emergency (as they don’t know how to buy with their supplier), I’ve seen this kind of situation, walking once in a street and a guy from an Libanese restaurant, buying eggs on Tesco and entering in the restaurant, for sure it was finished, but they had the decency to buy in the supermarket close by.
Do you know what was good? Nothing. Nothing saved.
The service? A part from one lady who said: “I’ll check by myself in the kitchen what’s going on cause your food didn’t arrive”, all of them ignored us, with funeral faces, and charged us the 12,5% service. What they didn’t deserve at all.
Are you joking you sell Brazilian cousine? Hahahaahahha. It’s for people who eat anything, without appreciate the taste, like “everything is good”, but not even the dirtiest self service restaurant in Brazil serve crap food like you do. More than 50 pounds paid, and I’ve had the impression, I just crumpled my money and throw out directly in the trash can. If the manager answer this, will come with the poker face to say: “sorry by your bad experience, we make sure to make all the clients happy, bla bla bla”. All BS. Don’t fall for that. Avoid this place at all cost. If you’re in the walking dead, starving, maybe you can eat there, if it’s the only option.
