The Premitel VoIP Phone Service is a high-quality, low-cost replacement for analogue and ISDN phone lines and systems before the December 2025 switch-off. Unlike most other VoIP services, the Premitel VoIP Phone Service is charged per line, rather than per-user. This makes it a very cost-effective solution for both home and business users. You can keep your existing phone number(s) with Premitel carrying out all the admin to ensure a smooth migration from your existing phone service. There is no contract for the Premitel VoIP Phone Service. Your commitment is to the end of the current billing month.

I am very cross that I have been put on the £6/month tariff and not the £1/month I was signing up for. I was told in an off hand way that all new customers are placed on the higher tariff automatically, and that, although starting a new month, the fee will stand until the next month. This is not satisfactory.

Hi Hugh, I'm sorry you feel that way. You didn't sign up for the £1 tariff...at no point did you tell us what tariff you wanted to go on. We sent an email to you asking what tariff you wanted to go on and made it clear that if we didn't receive a response before your initial invoice date that you would go on the default £5 tariff. It was only after you received your second invoice that you advised that you wanted to go on the £1 tariff and we implemented that for your next invoice. Under those circumstances we are unable to give you a refund for the service that you have used. I think your review is very unfair and is contrary to every other review that we have received.

Excellent customer service

While I was looking for a cheap VoIP solution for my home, I found Permitel to not only have an excellent value-for-money, but also a great customer service. We have been using their service for two months now. Works as it should at the cost that it should have.

A pleasure to deal with

The service from Stephen could not have need better and he made the whole process easy and stress free. After trying out the service with a temporary number my old number was transferred on the promised date and has worked perfectly since.
I would highly recommend Premitel.

Great service and an easy setup and…

Great service and an easy setup and this service works great with our Starlink. Stephen was always quick to answer our questions and that personal service was very much appreciated in today’s world where many companies just have you dealing with a chatbot.

VoIP with premitel the future for landline numbers.…

In a world where landlines are becoming less common and keeping my landline was very important. The standard landline became less appealing due to the high cost and risk of loosing my number.
Premitel was able to offer , with no issues, a VoIP line with my old number. Very simple to move the number, I was given a trial number first, allowing me to test before migrating my number. The fact is now I have my home phone ring my mobile too. So you can be home when out in theory.
Call quality is great and there is no delays with connection or conversation.
To be honest Premitel is the most competitive VOIP UK provider.

Very pleased with the service, I have been running VoIP for the last 3 months now and 10 out of 10.
Premitel helped with any technical issues even though my VoIP kit was purchased elsewhere.
Once set up you will not need to interact with settings it just runs. You can even unplug your VoIP phone take on holiday plug it a network and get your home phone (but some hotels may restrict that, but it is possible especially if visiting a friend or second/holiday home).
I was originally with EE for over 25 years and they offered no option to keep my number in fact they made me feel like an unwanted customer.

Excellent transfer to VOIP from…

Excellent transfer to VOIP from Broadband.
Quick efficient communication. Fuss free clear advice.
Changed my broadband to data only, and then transferred my line number to VOIP with Premitel using their pre-configured Grandstream VOIP box.
Number moved with an expected downtime of approx 3 weeks without problems.

Excellent upgrade from BT copper phone/wi-fi

Very helpful staff and an excellent way to get rid of an expensive, very slow BT phone/wi-fi service in a remote rural area that was unlikely to be upgraded from copper in the foreseeable future. Moved to Premitel on our mobile phones coupled with Starlink wi-fi. All very easy to instal and use!
