4 Stars But Poor Communications
I was very impressed and pleased with the service and my heating system is working perfectly.
The loss of a star is due to poor communication.
My plumber recommended PowderFlush and I looked at their website which was very informative and encouraged me to proceed to a booking.
However, I could only find one review on TrustPilot which didn't make good reading. It did reflect some of my negative experiences.
Online booking form - Choosing a date for the service was problematic as the date chosen isn't confirmed until you get a post card and send in a code. So many days go by that, like the previous review, I couldn't have the date chosen.
The post card policy is very unhelpful. I waited nearly a week for my post card.
I sent an email and a text with no reply as to the progress of the posting of the card.
I didn't like that everything was automated without any personal involvement by the company.
I contacted my plumber to seek reassurance. He contacted a local customer who had had their service and was very happy with the result.
My plumber’s reassurance gave me the confidence to progress the booking.
I spent £1,350 without any personal contact and reading a poor review on TrustPilot.
I was very impressed with PowderFlush’s visit and work ethic. Respectful of the house with putting down sheets.
However, again communication was not as I expected. It would have been appreciated if the process, upon arrival, had been explained with my individual heating system. Giving me some knowledge of the process would have given me the confidence of what and how. I found out some great things they did only as they were leaving (cleaning the hot water pipes too, putting on air bleed valves)..
I had to ask a colleague twice, during the visit, how was it going. Letting me know the progress would have been reassuring that everything was going to plan.
When they were leaving I had to ask about the process and talk me through which was met by a confused expression as if an unusual request.
As a further example of poor communication, PowderFlush asked, after their visit, via email, for feedback. Wishing to be helpful I spent an hour supplying a balanced and constructive email reply.
I received no response after a week, until I enquired and then a short reply - ‘Yes, we did’.
PowderFlush provide a great service and well worth the investment.
Poor communication has been a negative experience.
Subsequent to my review I received a threatening email requiring me to remove my review and pay £2,500 out of court or £5,000 as a breach of contract.
I am amazed at this behaviour from my 4 star Review. My only intention was to help and obtain more customers.
