New car being sent back 6 times…
This has been going on for 4 months after buying the car. I bought a convertible which I have not been able to use over the summer as the car has been with Porsche more than me.
After 6 times of sending the car back, I am now told the car will go to a ‘ gold technician / senior’ which lead me to assume their other technicians are not a qualified in the correct way.
We have now rent to the CEO of the UK and Europe and had resonances from customer services saying how sorry they are, but with no further plan.
The car is now been with them an additional 10 days having had to send the car in 6 times and still not heard back from Porsche. Despite me chasing for an answer.
Mid-Sussex Porsche 111-Point Check
Took my GT4 into Mid-Sussex Porsche for a 111-point check and 3 year extended warranty. I waited while they did the check and was treated very well indeed, even being given an air-conditioned office to work in, which was much appreciated as had several sensitive calls to make.
No issues picked up in the check, great customer service on my visit, and the extended warranty is itself a useful product since recent sensible changes were made.
Rip off merchants
Rip off merchants. Said car would only drop 5-10% in a year KNOWING I said I’d sell in a year. Dropped more than 20%. Issues with car. Not covered by warranty. Load of rubbish . Do NOT buy from these especially YORK branch
Disgraceful service!
I paid for Porsche connect to update my maps online. They would only allow 3 areas to be updated (even that was a nightmare, took me 6 months to even achieve this). We're going abroad now but it won't allow me to update any of the mainland EU areas. Three phone calls to Porsche Connect and still they are useless. Twice they said they'd phone back and never did. Disgraceful non existent so-called service. I'm going back to BMW!
Cars to fall in love for
Cars to fall in love for! Would love to be able to bring my 958 turbo to be refurbished, it's a keeper for me.
Bunch of jokers
Porsche Reading, trying to do a warranty inspection on 997. Cannot source replacement cat. Converters!
Their solution is to “borrow” cats off another car to satisfy warranty requirement, then replace with aftermarket parts, as Porsche cannot provide original parts. Therefore invalidating the warranty! So little point in investing in Porsche, as their hourly rate is £190ph any work is wasted.
Porsche cannot give date for supply of their own parts!!
This Company is totally Dishonest and Disingenuous
I bought a Porsche that was 9 months old, there have been many problems with it including double the mileage that advertised and agreed, damage to the wheel and tyre (which they tried to blame me for doing in the 5 days I had before I noticed it until I obtain records that the Bolton dealership had knowing done while owning the car) Non N rated tyre fitted which is a Porsche requirement. They chose not to carry out the 111 point Porsche check prior to handover (meaning I won't qualify for the extended 10-15 year warranty)
But more recently I reported that I had excessive condensation inside the car and lights.
It went into to the Cambridge Porsche dealership. They were instructed by Porsche GB to tell me that it was a characteristic of the car.
I had an independent inspection done by Automotive Consulting Engineers as the Financial Ombudsman directed me to.
The report stated that the condensation was excessive and was a design fault, and that other manufactures car of similar design and specification do not do this.
I passed the report on to Porsche GB and to Krishan Bodhani Chief Executive Officer of Porsche.
The response I received was a disgrace, they refused to accept the findings of the independent and impartial report produced by ACE.
I was told by the Porsche assistance / AA recovery driver that this is happening all over the country and not just to Tycan ( which Porsche is dealing with as a recall) but on other models like mine which is a Caymen, but also on Boxsters and 911's.
Porsche are now relying on this being normal even though it will, as ACE confirmed, cause damage to the electric, switches and fabrics.
Porsche are saying this is allowed for in there technical bulletin, This they refuse to supply in order to see if this is contained there.
Even if it is contained there, this document was never provided to me before purchase, which makes it redundant as it is introducing new terms and conditions after the contract was created, so an u fair term in a consumer contract.
They are no doubt doing this to other customer and possibly many, in order to avoid another costly recall.
No contact from customer service
My main issue is with the Dealer which is another long story in itself which culminated in my vehicle being left outside and broken into resulting in over £6000 worth of parts damage let alone the labour . My car has now been with the Dealer for a month as parts are not available to fix it . I have asked Porsche how it is possible to break in without the key and without physical intervention- I.e. windows not broken locks not smashed etc. Customer service have advised they are not technical and have therefore raised a case with Germany. Having chased and followed up by email still no response or even the common Courtesy to say we don’t have an answer yet but have chased . Truly abysmal Customer service and you would think they would recognise that things are changing and residual values are suffering meaning the sales of new vehicles will be more difficult so good service is paramount. My experience suggests the service is appalling
BEWARE
BEWARE - Porsche Roadside Assistance
This outfit is comprised of a bunch of liars, sitting on the roadside for 4hrs mutiple calls advised tow truck called and when the towe turned up advised order only come thru 30mins ago.
They promised a loan car with in 3hrs, next afternoon still waiting, never buying a porsche again.
Purchased and had fitted Winter Wheel…
Purchased and had fitted Winter Wheel set for my Cayenne Coupe. Excellent service and support way above the norm (even by Porsches high standards). Fitting was a pleasurable experience - the new showrooms and reception area are fantastic. Polite and courteous staff, special mention for Mathew and extra special mention for Adam Szlachcic in Part Department
Shocking service from Porsche…
Shocking service from Porsche (Bristol).
It is fair to say that my Porsche will be the first and last time I buy a car from this manufacturer again.
I ordered dark bronze tailpipes (god knows why they do not do black anymore) and got silver ones instead.
A very long story but in summary six months later and not resolved.
Manager now tells me I should escalate the complaint myself (absolute waste of time).
In addition, I had a letter regarding a ‘call back’ on Cayennes for a computer upgrade.
Collected the car that evening and did not notice until a couple of days later, deep scratches on the bumper.
Complained to Porsche that these were not there previously but they do not want to know.
Worst customer service ever from a high-end company
Be careful with Porsche USA in general, very bad customer service. They refused to fix our ‘21 Cayenne UNDER warranty, even after all service records were submitted. Avoid Porsche altogether, worse customer service we’ve ever experienced. It just takes a visit to the better business bureau page to read the awful experiences people have had with this company, avoid! If you ever need warranty work done be prepared to have a huge bill because the warranty will not be honored. When you’re purchasing the vehicle the don’t know what to do with you as a potential customer to earn the sale but when it comes to getting warranty work its a JOKE. Contacting Porsche USA is just as bad so don’t think that will help get your issue resolved. If I would’ve known what bad customer service this company has when I was purchased the car back in 21’ I would’ve stayed far away from PORSCHE!!!!
What is Customer Service?!!!
Customer service both from Dealer and HQ is Non Existent.
Wonder if the parent company cares!
Only one response, Vote with your feet
After five main dealers I tried the…
After five main dealers I tried the sixth. I’m glad I did as the gentleman Mr Ben Garcia from Hull Porsche sorted my new car out, which I didn’t buy from them, the last owner did. in a matter of minutes over the phone I was up and running, very happy. All of the five other mentioned dealers had zero interest in getting me an appointment to set up the cars Porsche connect, Plus not one centre called me back except Mr Garcia Hull Porsche.
I’m literally 200 miles away from them and I can tell you it’s worth the drive. The worst centre I’ve came across is the Norwich centre, it’s fairly new so you would of thought they’d be willing and able to help with a new purchase and after sales, not the case. I asked for a new 992 GTS specked up with aero kit and many other options. The first words out of the so called sales person was, the prices has gone up, I should of bitten my tongue, however I couldn’t help myself and gave a few choice words, the bubble on Porsches has burst just like all the other manufacturers. After that and the total lack of professionalism I walked away knowing I’m glad I didn’t give them a sale.
After sales is such an important part of ownership regardless of the manufacturer or price of the car. Unfortunately Most I came across fell well below the Porsche brand name, except for Hull Porsche, I will endeavour to use Hull Porsche for all of my services.
Let me explain what will happen to you…
Let me explain what will happen to you if you attempt to buy a new Porsche Cayenne.
You will be promised a delivery date. Hell, in my case, the car was already at the dealer.
You'll pay for a deposit.
BUT YOU WILL NEVER GET THE CAR!
Why?
Well, Porsche has screwed the Cayenne up so badly that they can't make it work. The reason is not so much mechanical, but is based on software.
This BRAND NEW car requires TWO major software updates, apparently to fix "minor" things like (a) locking you out of the car, and (b) locking you in the car!
From US reviews, you can also expect the PCM not to work, various systems to fail randomly and frequently, the wing mirrors not to respond, and so on.
And then there's the other bit of "shrinkflation" that Porsche has thrown in: they no longer factory fit a tracking device. Nope, they've thrown it out, forcing you to buy a £500+ tracker on top of the list price.
So ... less car, car that doesn't work, car that can't be shipped ... what more do you want for over £100k?
They've completely lost the plot.
(Oh, and one side detail. If you contact Porsche UK, they'll deny any responsibility. No, they're "just the importer". Charming service and support for their loyal customers.)
Service department or lack of …
The sales department are very efficient and attentive - the service department are hard to get hold of - unable to answer any timeline for repairs and very expensive - I was even told it was called the Porsche tax - I had sourced and bought a new car and had it delivered before I knew when my Porsche would be repaired and returned- substandard engine Bolts, oil leaks and failed power steering …………. so I sold my car back to Porsche and it’s now available for 10k more on their website - take out the warranty - the car had done 45000 miles only but repair cost of 5k and whats next to go wrong ………..
Don’t expect Porsche After Sales Support
Unable to drive car after hitting one of Glasgow’s Famous Mega-Deep Pot holes.
Call logged at just before 1pm, promised the car would be recovered by 2:20pm, then 250pm, 315pm, 350pm, 355pm 4pm, 405pm, 415pm, 420pm, 425pm, 430pm… you get the idea.
Then it turns out they forgot to arrange a courtesy vehicle. So stuck without a vehicle, unable to collect my dog from the sitter (first world problems I know).
The technical team has gone home despite a backlog of requests.
For a car less than 2 months old, costing 6 figures, Porsche really doesn’t care about after sales service.
Ready to have the dealer buy the car back from me, had better service from British Leyland in the day - and they were awful…
RUSTY PORSCHE:- Porsche extended warranty not as sold
Porsche Teesside confirmed damage (RUST) to bodywork on my Porsche Macan. After checking the car’s extended warranty it was confirmed it expires 01/07/28. Reviewing the details of the warranty it clearly states the bodywork is covered and is still valid. As requested by Teesside the car was taken to one of the fourteen approved Porsche body shops in GB. The manager and technician of Lloyds Body Shop (Newcastle) inspected the vehicle and tested the thickness of the paint work. It was agreed that the thickness of the paint to the lower section of all of the doors is under Porsches paint spec of 80 - 120 microns for this car. It was also noted that the condition of the car with the exception of the rust to the bottom of one of the door in question is exemplary. It was confirmed the car has had no body work repairs and has a full Porsche service history including bodywork stamps. The body work report was sent to Porsche Customer Interaction Centre on 5/07/2023. I was assigned a case manager David Barrell. Between David and his team they cannot operate their own systems. They could not access the cars warranty on the system and had to contact Porsche Teesside for a tutorial. Four months on they have acknowledge the paint is out of spec from manufacture in Stuttgart. They have offered a small sum of cash as a good will gesture. They are insisting the rust is influenced from outside-to-in and the warranty is inside-to-out. I have asked how this can be concluded now, in the future on the other 3 doors with under spec paint I can only imagine how that challenge will pan out if/ when they rust over the next 5yrs unless the issue is addressed now.
I have contacted the Ombudsman and you will be as surprised as I was to be informed the underwriters of Porsches extended warranty are not recognised by this organisation. My complaint has been passed onto Trading Standards. Porsche warranties will be pursued for breach of contract if they do not agree to repair the car as stated in the warranty or issue a full refund for the price of the warranty £1,440 BBP.
Porsche manufacture quality cars for sure. it criminal that the warranty is 2nd rate at best. Very disappointing experience. I will update this review once it’s gone through court, watch this space!
