App doesn't work - daylight robbery unfair PCN

Absolutely ridiculous - I tried to pay and it said the code didn't work. I tried to go to a nearby building for wifi incase that was the issues, but still didn't work. I left after trying to pay for 9 minutes and have evidence that it says "the location doesn't exist" but was still sent a PCN and when I appealed it, they rejected it!

One star only because there is no…

One star only because there is no option for no stars!
Complete shower. I’m at the Sussex CCC ground; both machines, there are only two, not working. I then used or tried to use the app. Separately using two cards, the app went into a loop when contacting both banks, and even with Apple Pay, again it didn’t work. Just would not do its thing.
So I phoned the office on the telephone number the sign says to call but was told I’d have to pay an additional 30p service charge if I paid over the phone!
And all this hassle because their system doesn’t work.
So I’ll sit in the car and if I get a ticket, I’ll happily take them all the way through the appeal process and the county court if they want to take it that far. Indeed I’d love to as it would cost them lots…..

Scam! Avoid!

If there option for no star, I will boldly give pop pay app no star at all.

I travelled from London to Northampton, got the the car park, the only option available to pay for the car park was through POP Pay. I downloaded the app, tried many times to pay but the app would not process the transaction. It kept on crashing. The other passenger in the car with me also tried many time and after 10 minutes the payment went through.

The management of the car park then slammed me with £100 fine for breaching their terms and conditions. Why will I pay £100 for their app that kept on crashing? Pop pay app is nothing but a scam. It must be reported to Trading Standard. They cannot get away with scamming people using an app that is not fit for purpose.

Beware of the poppay app

Beware of the poppay app- it seems to have serious glitches. I parked my car in Winding street Hastings and paid via the app. Unfortunately it took my money but didn't record my registration number and I received a PCN. When I appealed it the request for £100 was reduced to £20 because they acknowledged I had paid, but said it was 'not for the vehicle parked onsite'. Given that the registration number saved on my app is definitely for my car, they are wrong, but apparently there is no facility to appeal their decision.

POPPAY is quick, simple and easy to navigate.

I personally found the POPPAY app very helpful, I don't carry cash and the day I needed to pay for parking I forgot my wallet, so the app was my default choice, but going forward it will be my first!

The payment was compatible with Apple Pay which worked seamlessly and I managed to park and pay stress free, unlike other payment apps that harvest personal data to sell for profit , I found POPPAY to be considerably less intrusive for data gathering and easy to use.

I cant see why the other reviews are so negative, maybe they were running late and downloading another parking app can be frustrating, especially if people use a low budget network, however this site had free POPPAY Wi-Fi which I utilised and found the experience speedy and simple..... Great App!

I tried the app at Newhaven West Quey…

I tried the app at Newhaven West Quey to pay for parking, but the app does not work.
It took over 10 minutes to use, delete the app, and reinstall itStill didn't work ?.
The really nice guy in Simpsons' boat yard used his app that did work??
Is this a purposeful thing so they can issue parking fines, rang them, and tell you you can pay by website, no mention of this on the signs
Seems the app works periodically and can't call them to pay on Sat orSun and before 9.30, and after 4.30 to pay
Very worrying and stressful if you do park there and do everything properly

AVOID POPPAY AT ALL COSTS

AVOID - & DO NOT PARK AT NEWHAVEN QUAY PARKING E.SUSSEX SITE REF 10100

Tried 5 times on App to pay, trying 2 different payment cards, just kept saying payment error.
Others having same difficulties, despite ringing customer service to advise, who alleged numerous other vehicles had successfully paid for parking this day - NO cars were able to pay whilst we were there.

Please avoid!

Please avoid this car park by all means! Their online system is lagging and you might get penalty for simply not being able to log into the payment portal within 10 Grace minutes. At the same time, you will also get a penalty for finding the car parking spot and yet the system will say the car park is full. What a disgrace to earn money this way. Pure disappointment.

The app is FRAUDULENT and won’t let you…

The app is horrendous and won’t let you pay so you end up with a massive fine and no rights to appeal! This must be fraud and illegal activity. Don’t park anywhere with PopPay - particularly Albert Place carpark in Northampton! So unethical and unfair. I paid initially and then tried to extend but it wouldn’t let me. I took screen shots as evidence of this but no one will accept an appeal. Having returned two months later to check the board after my nasty debt collection emails (no initial letters), I found another poor guy standing at the same board for the same reason and asking me whether I could get the app to work as he had been sent a fine. I think this will be a small claims court action for me - another fraudulent scandal! Be very careful and do not park anywhere that use this app!!!

They prefer to fine you £100 than take £4 for parking

This company has a rating of 1 star for every single review. Trustpilot does not award zero stars. PopPay should get a minus score for the appalling way they treat people who try to pay for parking. The App does not work so that after 10 minutes of trying to pay, they can then charge £100 for parking without payment. My belief is that this is quite deliberate and part of their operating strategy. I think that Trading Standards should investigate and possibly shut down this scam-like operation and prosecute the owners.
