I had an incident when taking my little girl swimming and a member of staff, Dave Matthews I believe (reception staff, tall, Curtain styled hair and between 20 and 30 years of age) spoke to me, in fro... See more

Excellent group work out instructors (Vicky and Anastasia). Highly skilled instructors that provided excellent quality, challenging and highly motivational classes (LM Grit, pump, body attack and RPM).
The female chafing area and showers are excellent and spotlessly clean and on a par with the facilities I have experienced at expensive private gyms - a big thank you to Jane for this as she does a brilliant job of making sure this is the case.
The staff on reception are excellent - massive thanks to Debbie for all her help. Thanks to everyone for an excellent experience each time

The Triangle gym Burgess Hill is a good place to go to for everything a leisure centre provides

Swimming lanes are often an issue at Spelthorne leisure centre. Staff do not move people who swim in the wrong lanes.
Today was the worst experience. 12pm lanes were not moved quick enough (it took 30mins) after Aqua fit. Lots of people in wrong lanes. I usually swim in medium lane. As it emptied quickly I started to swim in marked slow lane. I was then bullied out of lane by very fast swimmers who didn’t notice lanes had not changed. Staff too busy chatting to notice or care!

I have been a long-standing user of one of your gyms, however my recent experience has raised serious concerns regarding both health & safety and staff conduct.
On 28-03-2026 while I was still using a running machine at your High Wycombe site, a member of staff switched off the machine without any warning or confirmation it was safe to do so. This caused me to lose balance and I almost fell, which could have resulted in a serious injury.
A running machine should never be stopped abruptly while in use. Standard safety practice is to allow the machine to slow down gradually or to give the user clear warning and time to stop safely. Neither of these basic procedures were followed.
I had already informed staff that I only needed one more minute, however this was completely disregarded. It appeared that the staff member was more concerned about closing and leaving than ensuring member safety.
When I raised this issue, the situation became confrontational and unprofessional. The staff member entered my personal space and suggested it was “50/50”, which I strongly disagree with. Responsibility for safe operation and shutdown of equipment lies with staff, not members.
This is not simply a customer service issue — this is a serious safety concern. Members should feel safe when using gym equipment, not put at risk due to staff actions.
I have formally raised this complaint and requested a full investigation, including a review of CCTV footage. I hope this is taken seriously and that appropriate action is taken to ensure this does not happen again.

Spa is OK but very brightly lit and resultantly not very relaxing. Feels like you're in a Tesco Extra with a jacuzzi in the middle. Changing rooms legitimately feel like prison. Sauna didn't feel like the temperature it said it was.
Receptionist was a little odd and tried charging me £2 for the plastic fob that allowed me to enter the spa, not believing that I'd return it after. 40 minutes in the spa, I went to return it and she'd gone home for the day.
Feels like a council spa, get what you pay for I guess.

An update on my ongoing complaint that basically it didn’t progress whatsoever following the escalation to their manager in Staines. As a reflection of the very low standard really of such a company and the staff they employ. The manager has simply been not answering my requests for refund and compensation. What a disgrace really!

I attend my local centre 6 days of the week, enjoying regular swimming, cardio and strength classes.
The staff are friendly and supportive, the centre is very clean, and the equipment is generally in good condition.
Advancing old age is no barrier to exercise: there’s a huge and increasing range of activities available - something for everyone.

This is a great gym & leisure centre, great staff & set up.
BUT...
The water in the pool IS NOT HEATED! OR THE SWIMMING AREA CHANGING ROOMS.
So it can be very cold, especially for young children and less active people..
It has been like this for years ( as confirmed my a member of staff) because they haven't fixed the broken unit.
But they still take their fees from long term members with no apologies or interest in fixing it
UPDATE.. THE MESSAGE BELOW ASKING FOR THE CENTER NAME?? IT WAS LEISTON..AND AS FAR AS IT BEING PAST ON.... THE CENTER HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE FOR OVER 5 YEARS !!!!

Balham Leisure Centre
The Leisure Centre has some great classes e.g. body Balance, body conditioning, Aqua robics, yoga, zumba gold, pilates to name but a few. The instructors are well experienced and will adapt accordingly to ability.
The main gym is fully equipped downstairs and upstairs, there are also smaller gyms with good range of equipment. They also provide steam and sauna. I have not used these facilities.
