Expensive for the quality received. The tree was uneven, heavily trimmed, and looked as though it may have been previously handled. A replacement was offered but was not practical. Only a 20% partia... See more

Pines and Needles was founded by brothers Josh and Sam Lyle back in 1995. It all started when the youngsters (then aged 15 and 13) came up with the brainwave of loading an old horsebox with Christmas trees from their family farm in Scotland and taking the long journey down to London. After a few years the kilted crew grew in size, the Internet beckoned, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Multiple issues - dreadful experience

1. Delivered to wrong address despite confirming with driver only 10 minutes before. Left outside neighbours door (they were not in) in dangerous position. Returned to deliver to us as we had paid to have delivered to room.
2. Tree had massive gaps between branches. Looked like it had been re-wrapped, probably refused by a previous customer. No label on tree as in previous trees.
3. Complained - later in day delivered another tree. Not very polite delivery people. Wasted a complete day due to this. This one was properly wrapped and had a label but on removing wrapping there were a number of branches broken off.
4. Complained again and offered discount off tree NEXT YEAR! After this year's experience and the a similar experience last year I am not sure that I want to use this company again.
5. After only 10 days and making sure that the tree was watered, the branches are drooping badly.
Altogether an experience similar to so may others with this company.

Awful

Awful - do not book a Collection. They literally drag your tree out, don’t clean the needles up and damage your carpets. Worst experience ever. Happy to send photos to everyone for proof

An even worse replacement tree!

An even worse replacement tree!

Once again pines and needles failed. I asked for replacement and they brought a tree just as bare and just as dry. They must think customers are stupid.

Poor quality tree

Despite being watered constantly both the trees we ordered are already droopy and dry. There are pines everywhere and decorations have started falling off. Disappointing given the cost - we’ll be lucky if they make it to Christmas!

Excellent service at Barnes Pines and Needles

We had a wonderful service from Mai and Myles at Barnes Pines and Needles. Myles came forward straight away and helped us choose the perfect 8 foot tree and then slimmed down the trunk for us so that it would fit into our tree stand. It took some heavy sawing but it now fits perfectly. Mai was in charge of payment and was charming. Dealing with such nice people has put us in the Christmas spirit! Thank you Pines and Needles and especially Mai and Myles.

Terrible service, avoid if you can

Paid for delivery and installation. The delivery guys then refused to fit the tree as they didn't have the right tools, instead the tree was just dumped on our kitchen floor. Numerous calls had with rude customer service staff who refused to refund the installation fee and told me it was illegal for their guys to bring certain tools..... Terrible experience, I would avoid.

Maybe just a bad year but poor trees…

Bought trees from them for a few years and they have been good. This year the first tree dropped heavily within 6 days. We had it outside in water. Took it back and no fuss replacement. This one is shedding heavily already and has no gloss. Given up and gone elsewhere and have a healthy tree for £20 less.

Absolutely brilliant from start to…

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Great to be remembered when we arrived to choose our tree and then delivery was fast and friendly. It is great that our tree will also be taken away after Christmas. A big thank you to all concerned

Wrong tree delivered

I ordered a Fraser Fir and got a Nordmann Fir - didn’t realise till the tree was set up and had plans to decorate it that night. Complained to their customer service and they offered a swap but that wasn’t an option. Then they offered 15% off NEXT YEAR’S tree. What a joke!

Ridiculously expensive

Ridiculously expensive, terrible shaped trees (most sites we visited) the Starbucks of Christmas Trees. Go to Columbia Road market or Chapel street market for your trees, perfect shapes and half the price!

St Mark’s church, Primrose Hill.

A disappointingly uneven, tatty, thin, rather threadbare selection of trees which, given the prices, wasn’t merely annoying, it was downright insulting.
Took three turns around and couldn’t convince ourselves £90 for a decidedly inferior tree, the best of a bad bunch, made any sense at all. And that if this was the best they have, no tree at all or a tinsel umbrella from Argos would be preferable.

Could it be Scotlands pine plantations are so depleted these are all they have left? It DOES take several years to grow a seven footer……
