DO NOT DO A FREE TRIAL!! I tried to cancel before the trial ended and it’s incredibly difficult. I couldn’t cancel in time and was charged nearly $90. I emailed customer service because I couldn’t cancel on my own and the response was that I needed to use the chat feature. Used the chat feature and have had no assistance. To cancel on my own I’m stuck in a loop of cancellation articles. It’s incredibly disturbing how difficult this is. Do. Not. Use.

Being bounced from email to chat to a loop of cancellation articles, while a charge is pending, is not the experience we want for anyone.

What might be happening is that the trial was taken on a web flow and you are trying to cancel on mobile. On mobile you need to go through the Apple or Google platforms as they are the ones managing the payment. If you took it on web then you should check on a desktop access.

Please contact our support team through the app and ask specifically for a human agent from the start, they can access your account directly, look into the charge, and make sure the cancellation is properly processed.

Scam Company

I subscribed to their service and cancelled within the trial period. They are still trying to deduct £70 from my account after a week, subscription cannot be cancelled. SCAMMERS

tried to charge my credit card after subscription cancellation

Photoroom tried to charge my credit card even though I had canceled my trial subscription and received the cancellation confirmation email a week before the original trial period was scheduled to end. This is a highly unethical behavior from a company. I would trust these scammers. Their photo services just uses Google’s Banana AI which I already paid for through Google anyways—and was why I canceled my trial subscription after I had signed up for the trial and was able to see the actual features in the plan.

A charge attempt after receiving a cancellation confirmation is something that needs to be investigated directly. Please contact our support team through the app and ask for a human agent, maybe the cancellation flow you initiated didn't work. They can access your billing records and look into exactly what happened on your account.

Please note that we do not "just" use Google Banana AI :) we use a mix of proprietary models and external ones continuously improving our model mix to provide the best visuals for eCommerce use cases.

At nearly £5 a week I expect an app to…

At nearly £5 a week I expect an app to do what I want. I don't expect after 2 days of use for it to be telling me I've used up 80% of data and need to wait for the rest of the week to go by and pay again or upgrade. Further, if I've uploaded a model I want to use to display my clothing, I don't expect Photoroom to keep changing their face. So much time is wasted. If you want to try it, try it for just 1 week and be sure to cancel your subscription within 7 days unless it's perfect for your needs.

STOP CHANGING THE APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You keep upgrading and changing the damn system!!!!! I use this app for business!!! You make it SO DIFFICULT for me to list items onto the PC because it won't do what it used to do. You have to go through so many steps to start on the next project!!!! THIS SYSTEM HAS GOTTEN SO BAD!!!!! I'm waiting for another company to open up their own so that I can switch!!!! I'm VERY dissatisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beware..It's a Scam Read the reviews!

Paid for membership and immediately it wouldnt let me access the ghost mannequin section says i needed to upgrade. I paid for the Max service that includes this option. Submitted a ticket and was told issue would be resolved in a few hours. Not resolved, cant use, cant get a response. Beware.... this is another hack service that is a fraud!

Not recommended.

When the app worked, it was good, but then got very buggy and would frequently freeze up and you would have to close it to re-do what you had been working on. And canceling? If you have auto-billing keep an eye out, because they will bill you anyway after canceling.

Used to be good but avoid at all costs now

Had it for 5 years and WAS great. Nowadays it’s shocking. Overpriced new additional charges constantly making people pay for Ai features I don’t even use. Charging £250+ for the thing that was £50 6 months ago … things don’t make sense. Updates make the app worse everytime.

I'm a pre-loved designer clothing…

I'm a pre-loved designer clothing seller and I took out the 'max' level thinking it would be more than ample for my needs. Really sorry I paid the annual subscription. Sometimes it works, and is good, but sometimes you've got arms coming out at waist level and human heads on top of tailors' dummies. This is their programmers fault, but it still eats into your quite meagre allowance, which isn't spelled out when you take out the subscription. Cannot recommend and I will not be renewing my subscription.
I would also add I am extremely annoyed that the better quality image you want, the more 'credits' you use. Surely they should be providing top quality in the first place. Avoid.
As a postscript, their 'standard' quality, recently introduced, is absolute rubbish so you are FORCED to upgrade to 'Advanced' using more credits, to get anything like a decent image. This company is DIRE

Where's the support team when you need them?

When the image generation works, it works fantastic and i haven't found another app that does as good of a job. However, over the past few days i have had endless errors and it constantly generates spelling mistakes using up all of my usage. The 2 stars is for the fact that now i need assistance, the support team are nowhere to be seen!! You message, get a message back that they'll reply in a few hours, nothing 24 hours later! I pay £70 a year for this, i expect better.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Was a loyal customer a few years. Then as soon as I paid for this past year without warning I suddenly had a maximum of pictures I could use. And it was very little. This was without warning or any communication first. Total waste of my money. Do not sign up for them. Its a scam!

Recommend you Opt for a different App - NOT THIS ONE

Started using Photoroom to remove backgrounds which worked really well, hence giving the 2 stars - Then got involved in the AI feature and product beautifier which again worked really well and I kept within or used up to my monthly credits for 6 months until they decided that to use the AI features you had to pay extra mid way through my subscription period and the weekly/monthly charge is extortionate. Have now lost all AI facilities. This is a SCAM where they tempt you then block you once you you rely on it.

As soon as i upgraded everything…

As soon as i upgraded everything started not to work properly. it wont remove background and now i have to manually remove each one. i need white backs i use the same in each photo but they never look the same white. i ask for help. everything they told me to do i could not find what they wanted me to do.
Never will use again i will pay more to use a program that works

Awful

Run away

Cutouts option disappeared

When I'm making pictures, under the "Insert" option, I can't find my cutouts ANYWHERE anymore. WHERE did that option go? I can only find my cutouts through the main menu under the "Brand" option - but what good does THAT do when I can't add them to my pictures anymore?! For months, this app had worked wonders for me AND my purposes! Unfortunately, the 23rd of last month [November] is the first day that I PERSONALLY found this out the hard way, but other people had ALREADY been experiencing this in days prior. A few users even mentioned that they'd been having this problem for at least A WEEK. Currently, I don't know how long OTHER people have waited - but as of today (12/7/25), I've officially been waiting 2 weeks now for them to fix it. One good thing (at least for ME) is that I'M not one of those "paid subscription" people who found out [and are suffering] the hard way. HOWEVER, what's possibly the WORST thing about this problem is the fact that this is an issue that's affecting even the FREE users - like me! Fortunately, EVERYTHING ELSE that I've used to edit pictures has been basically working the same way (more or less) - in other words, just fine. The only way that this company could improve [in MY eyes] is by restoring this feature ASAP.

Note: Fortunately however, JUST today, I found [what will hopefully be] a TEMPORARY loophole/workaround to this problem. For those of you like me (who DON'T currently have a working computer/laptop), if you instead have at least an Android, iPhone, or some similar type of phone, first go to app.PhotoRoom.com. On MY phone (which is a 2021 Android), under the 3 dots (aka options) at the top right corner of the screen, in the pull-down tab, make sure the "Desktop site" option is checked off/lit up. If that works, then when you're working on one of your "Designs", if you click on "Insert", all your Cutouts will show up, being displayed on the right side of your screen. While I DON'T really like the white background of app.PhotoRoom.com, right now, it's a comparatively small price to pay for getting [what to me is basically] Photoroom's FULL base functionality back!
