Ok, but not up to the today’s standard
Had been using my earpod pro 3 as hearing aids up until I got my phonak hearing aids. Better sound in some Environments, but so last year technology. I travel a lot. So the hearing aid spend time in the case.
Unlike my EarPods the case does not Charge them ( when not plugged in) or switch them off.
But when connected it does switch them on ? To me that means that when I need them they are out of battery. Always
I wish I could buy a case with built in battery
Load of rubbish
I went to boots, for my first hearing test, after suffering for years with my hearing, mainly when in crowded places, background noise, struggling to hear conversations etc, the hearing aids they showed me was great, very small and hardly noticeable, so signed up straight away, thought it would save me waiting months to get NHS test.
4 month later, I was out on a social event and thought great see how these hearing aids work, I was so disappointed as they told me to have on Auto setting and it will always adjust, to your surroundings, we'll it didn't, after trying for an hour I gave up, I was so upset I took them out, and continued the rest of the evening struggling to keep up with the conversations, bare in mind we were sat at a small table, less then a meter away it was the background music that drowned the conversations.
I want back to boots, they advised ne to wear them more, when I stated I work in a call centre and wear headphones all day, and could not find a suitable headset that worked with them, only to be told they are not designed to be worn with headsets.
I explained my main problem is when in noisy environment that every day conversations when near me I was fine, or so I thought, think they use the term industrial desthness, working in very noisy factories when younger.
My next visit the audiologist said I could get special help and to fill a form on the gov website, called access to work and they would pay for headset for work, great I thought, so filled form in only to be advised there is a 30 week waiting list, great I thought, so back in the box they went, as I thought it was pointless wearl8ng them when I can manage with every day hearing watching TV etc.
As I do not go out that often, it was another 4 months or so before I tried again, so the say before I charged them up, but couldn't pair with my mobile, liked I'd been shown before, so booked for a appointment to get them checked out, this was January 2026, only to be told they need a software update every 12 months or so, and this can only be done at boots, once they arrive connected to their software system, what a joke, I asked again about headsets that would be compatible, only to be told this time there is none, again misinformation from previous persons. So now they are back in the box as they admitted only gave a range of a meter for conversations, anything further away is just not going to work, so why say they will be great to cancel out background noise if this isn't the case, now stuck with useless hearing aids and over £3500 out of pocket.
Anyone thinking of going to boots, please do your homework first, and search reviews, wish I had.
Phonak Hearing Aids bought through…
Phonak Hearing Aids bought through Boots at a cost of £2800 for the pair …. These Aids have been back and for to Phonak for repair, this takes a minimum 2 weeks turnaround and no alternative back up is offered. On one occasion they come back with a different door fitted on them, and then argued the fact that the ones received did not have a volume switch fitted .. ( keep photo evidence )
Don’t waste your money with this company nor Boots as the back up service is awful.
Negative 5 stars!
Don't buy ANY products ($$$$) from these shysters. I am a retired Music Professor, with a significant background in audio, software development, and computer hardware support.
I am unable to make these hearing aids work. The chargers are an especially frustrating nightmare, the Bluetooth implementation is poor (though that is not unique to Phonak, right Apple?), and the app is not actually helpful.
The biggest problem is the "go" charger. The hearing aids are not reliably usable as they often cannot be charged because the chargers don't work at least 50% of the time!
I have wasted hundreds of hours and dollars, replacing chargers (2 times), repairing changers (3 times) and replacing wires ($$), adapters etc. Still unreliable charging! After several years of this struggle, I'm through with this Phonak junk.
Customer support and University hearing clinic people have been nearly useless. I'd rather be deaf and demented than waste another hour or dollar on this inferior but very expensive product!!!!!
I've had my phonax for two and a half…
I've had my phonax for two and a half years with the app I could adjust hi and low volume bass, treble tone directional rear or front
Initially It was a case of getting used to New earing Aids and the way they operate
Recently I've had then repaired twice because they stopped connecting to the app earing are turned on each morning and also there is now only volume setting too left and right earing aids i was out at a function Recently I could not hear a thing in the hall
Phonak you need to get to grip with this app there are enough reviews stating the problems with your app and earing aids
What's the point in spending over 5 grand for these thing and they turn out to be junk
I’m officially done with Phonak.
I’m officially done with Phonak.
This is the third time my hearing aids have broken because there’s no on/off switch — the only way to turn them off is by pulling the battery out. That constant removal wears down the contacts, collects dirt, and eventually causes the device to fail.
It’s a repeated, known issue, and yet Phonak keeps ignoring it. These devices cost over $6,000, and the same failure keeps happening. It honestly feels like a planned design flaw to make customers replace devices faster.
I’m boycotting Phonak and will be spreading awareness to stop others from wasting money on this brand until they fix the issue and start treating users fairly.
Phonak — you’ve lost a loyal customer for good.
The world worst hearing aid and…
The world worst hearing aid and customer support in india. In a year time I have sent 5 time for repair. I last my money and peace
Very expensive hearing aid which fails…
Very expensive hearing aid which fails to deliver. Purchased Aug 2024
Sphere noise reduction has never worked and have been unable to get a satisfactory music setting
Good things:
Bluetooth and speech, otherwise not worth the money!
Do they care!?
Do not attempt to buy these hearing…
Do not attempt to buy these hearing aids.i bought mine 1 year ago from view point in york and they have gone faulty 8 times with the ear piece failing.
I bought another make from m and s and they were presented in 3 lovely boxes all with a carrying case etc.i got a different make from view point in york namely phonak ,and phonak do not give you any box with carrying case etc. These hearing aids were far more expensive than the m and s ones it’s beggars belief that one is given 2 hearing aids and the small plastic charger in ones hands.
Phonak if you want to market a good and expensive product you have to present and manufacture them in a presentation box.I cannot believe that they don’t.
I would give this firm 0 stars if I could ,even the consultant at view point in york must be disgusted with presenting the hearing aids without a box

Rubbish app
Rubbish app, responds so very, very slowly, if at all. Updates are released without any care for the users experience - the recent one was like " here you go, YOU trial it cos we just can't be bothered" yes, yet again it was awful....
The app is low on intuitive functionality
The app is low on intuitive functionality, and FAQ's are poorly written with YouTube clips that give examples of other Audeo hearing aids, when all I want are examples of a hearing aid model that I own!
Phonak audeo P90 rubbish
I purchased the Phonak audeo P90 rechargeable upgrade from the P70 3yrs ago and nothing but disappointed basically they are constantly searching and changing even when you use your own setting in a crowd or resturant you do better taking them out, the noise cancellation works sometimes there is poor word differentiation and unable to get rid of background noise even with the direction at 100% They have been sent back 3 times with them working OK for a couple of months then back to not working
Your constantly resetting them and trying to hear amongst the babble
I asked for a swap an upgrade as the P70. performed better, even before the warranty ran out and advised phonak would not do that and full price charged
Gave them $7500 and have had nothing but problems and frustration
Husband paid £3500 for hearing aids two…
Husband paid £3500 for hearing aids two years ago. For the past three months he can barely hear!
I got a new set of these hearing aids…
I got a new set of these hearing aids in August 2024. The right aid has been back to Phonic twice as it stops working. I got it back on Saturday April 19th. It worked for two days and has just stopped working again. I’m so angry as they cost me a fortune. I really don’t know what I can do next!!! Not impressed at all.
They did not honor their warranty
They did not even try to fix a problem with a hearing aid that stopped working well within the warranty period. They emailed me that the issue has been fixed although they did not fix it or even attempt to fix it. One hearing aid is working well, though. Basically, you should think of it as a product without a warranty and hope that it works.
Phonak hearing aids
Phonak make in my opinion the best hearing aids and accessories my only criticism is lack of f a q in manual I advise use boots or other reputable company for adjustments etc .when they talk water resistant ip68 this equates to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes this probably ly correct for ear pieace but think portion inside ear may be over rated anyway take off before showering best advice.
A waste of time
I'm on SSI disability I have state medical. I received my hearing aid in November. I was given 30 days if I wasn't satisfied I could return it. 5 weeks after having it it completely stopped working. So there was no way of returning it. I find it absurd that you get 30 days for a product like that. Honestly I don't think anybody should ever invest any money in their products.
Phonak support is not fit for purpose.
Phonak support is not fit for purpose. I sent a number of queries via the app, the replies must have come from a computer because not one reply was helpful or actually addressed the problems I had asked about.
The app is dumbed down, ill-thought-out and bug ridden, and the bluetooth audio quality through the aids is dreadful, almost unusable.
I'm so disappointed.
Overpriced and outdated non functioning technology
If you use Bluetooth devices (phone, work laptops etc) like anyone living in 2024 stay away from Phonak unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to have a device that can't do clear Bluetooth transmissions. When connected to Bluetooth so that MS teams meetings or a phone calls go straight through to your hearing aids it sounds like you re standing in a storm with all the crackling and scratching sounds, not only is it annoying but also becomes painful after a while. As a result I have to take the hearing aids out and then put headphones in for calls or online meetings at work.
When seeking help from Phonak they advise to not have other Bluetooth devices nearby (good luck with that in 2024 and being younger than 100 years), not to have multiple apps open and other ridiculous stipulations that no one should be even asking with a straight face in 2024, especially after paying more than 8.5k for their crappy hearing aids.
Go to Temu and get a 30 bucks device that will have better sound.
NHS is wasting money on Phonak aids
I'm assessed as profoundly deaf and have used two Phonak Nathos Auto UP hearing aids for several years since the NHS first introduced them. (My first pair of Phonak aids replaced the previous BE 50-series NHS aids I used.)
Sound quality in noisy environments is poor and while the overall quality of sound hasn't been as poor as others have experienced (maybe as I'm coming from the perspective of being profoundly deaf, my expectations of what can be delivered are quite low), the reliability of Phonak aids has been, in a word, appalling.
Time after time, either one, or both at the same time, of my Phonak aids has failed in the past 10 years or so and has had to be replaced. I've been deaf and have used hearing aids for over 40 years. The replacement rate of earlier NHS BE-20, BE-40 and BE-50 series aids in my younger days was almost nil; by comparison, Phonak quality leaves much to be desired. The control buttons (most usually the volume control) cease working properly and won't adjust volume easily, or at all in some cases. All too often, the mic (presumably) gives up the ghost and the only sounds I receive make everyone, including me, sound like a Dalek. At other times, it appears as if the program settings have just decided to change from those set for me by the audiologist, to the original default setting and as such, become of little use to me at all.
The NHS should review its current purchasing decisions and look for better alternatives - more reliable hearing aids would reduce instances of required replacement and thus, overall costs.
I'm currently on the waiting list for my latest hearing assessment. While I wait, I'm using just one aid (with little volume as that control appears faulty) and the other aid is now, like others, in 'Dalek-sounding mode' and is thus, unusable.
