Petscanner is genuine
I received an unexpected email from pet scanner alerting me to the fact that my details had appeared on a fake pet chip database operation. I was dubious at first but made inquiries and petscanner were right, I had been scammed albeit almost three years ago. If you get an email from pet scanner it's worth taking it seriously. I followed up with petscanner who were very helpful and enabled me to get our pet properly registered. Otherwise, if we'd lost our pet a search on his chip would not have turned up our details.

Recieved an email claiming my dog wasnt chipped with Defra approved company...what a load of S**t. He is chipped with a Defra approved company its on the Gov website. So go and scam someone else I would never pay you any money. Trading Standards need to look into your company..

However, if you received our email, it means we did find your details on Pet Chip Registry which is a scam registration. You can search your pet's microchip number on their site and see that your details are publicly exposed.

Scaremongering people via email
I did not give you permission to email me and scare me into buying your services. My dogs chip is registered to a GOV approved website which states on their website, along with yours.
Stop scaring people into buying your services. Reading the reviews seems you need to spend some time working on your own website and current customers issues than scaring people.

Your pet’s microchip might be on a DEFRA approved database but it is most likely that it is still in the implanter or breeders name. This has been the case with everyone we have helped so far.

If the microchip has come from an approved database then it will return as 'registered' but this is usually left in the implanters/breeders name. Pet Chip Registry (petchip.info) pay a lot of money in Google Ads to appear at the top and trick people to register with them. Even when you search for the approved database you are looking for, Pet Chip Registry will always appear above them.
Like I said before, please search your pet's microchip number on petchip.info and you will see your details displayed. Pet Chip Registry (petchip.info) isn't DEFRA approved and Vets will not search this website when they are trying to reunite.

I had an email from this company today stating that my dogs microchip is registered with a dodgy microchip company and inviting me to pay money to register with them. I've checked the government website and the company my dog is registered with is legitimate. Pet scanner more like pet scammer. Not impressed.
10/12/22-Following on from the reply from Pet Scanner I would like to know how they got my pets microchip number in the first place as you need this to access my details. I did not 'fall for the scam' and did not pay any money to pet registery. My pet is registered with a legitimate company. Their original email to me states that the database my pets details are stored on is fraudulent, doesn't mention anything about other databases. It says that I could be fined £500 pounds for not having them registered properly and that I risk not having my pet returned if they are lost etc. It then invites me to join their database for a monthly or annual fee. This is just fear mongering and an attempt to play on the emotions of a pet owner to make money. Disgusting.

There is a set prefix on most microchip numbers so it is quite easy to get the remaining 3-5 digits.
In regards to our email, we have always had a link to the list of government approved databases in our emails but we have since made it more informative and less marketed towards us. Please note, the government website also states in bold "You can be fined up to £500 if your dog is registered on a database that is not on the list.".
Our email has brought the Pet Chip Registry scam to the attention of many people now and a lot are thankful for this. Lots have completed the registration for their pet with us as well as other databases. The main priority here is making sure people are registered on government approved databases with their details in date.

Completed the Implanter training course, everything was made simple from the start. Once the Theory was completed I was offered an appointment for my practical assessment, at a date and time that suited both me and the assessor. The assessor made things clear and easy to understand and was a pleasure to work with. The registration process is simple and very cost effective. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

If I am being honest...
This is a down to earth, polite and amazing company. I am doing my microchipping course with them and I have had wonderful advice from someone named kieran from the start. I didn't fully understand everything needed for the course until I paid but when I contacted to tell them, they assured me that they would pass it all on to be updated for future. I have also been thanked by them sending me some equipment towards training which is probably the most generous thing anyone has ever done for me, it means more to me than they will ever know. I very nearly signed up with the "bigger company" to do my microchip training. I am so glad I didn't. Pet scanner are a better price and are so supportive. They are always quick to email back with any questions and answer calls immediately and help with whatever you need. My examiner was absolutely amazing. I was nervous but he instantly put me at ease and I felt as if I just had a friend around the house I can't praise him enough.
Kieran in the office is absolutely great and the incentive scheme is unbeatable.
Puppy owners have found the process of registering the chips simple and easy.
I would highly recommend this company to everybody.
