Poor online customer service

Live chat customer service was very poor. I ordered a few things with 2hr uber delivery and one of the products was wrong. I contacted asking if anything could be done like resending me the correct product or refunding me my uber delivery fee but the customer support agent kept refusing saying that I would just have to come in and swap it in store which just eliminates the whole purpose of paying $10 for 2 hour delivery since I could have gone in store to begin with. He was very short with me and passive aggressive and didn’t give me any options or make any attempts to correct the company’s mistake. He then ended the conversation telling me to “have a great day” without offering me any solutions. Very disappointing and ridiculous. I ended up working it out with the store by contacting them myself but with other companies like petcircle, whenever a mistake was made by them they always were very apologetic and polite and corrected the mistake immediately. When petcircle sent me the wrong product they then sent me the correct one and told me to keep both. Yet with Petbarn I have to come in store to swap them out after paying for same day delivery.

Great staff

Ordering, price and super service at Petbarn Maribyrnong. I ordered and picked up cat litter within an hour. The staff even carried the 3 x 10kg bags to my car. You couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful staff.

poor customer service

first of all, we have a petbarn store local to us which is very helpful as it is one of the only pet warehouses in the area. they offer a wide range of products. i’m here to talk about the customer service i received while with my sister and our two dogs. the lady at the counter first of all was very rude about price matching our items. we have supplements for our two dogs, food and products and the price can get very high if not checked. she had a poor attitude, telling us originally that they did not price match which we knew was false as they have done it before for us. after talking to her she agreed to do it but reluctantly. she obviously had no clue how to handle dogs, we have two harrier beagles and at the end of our interaction she asked it she could give them a treat. my sisters dog is obviously very food motivated (he’s a damn beagle what do you expect) and the lady had no clue how to properly give a treat to a dog. she was practically teasing him waving it around in the air above him. he got frustrated and started barking at her where she jumped back and rudely commented about his behaviour. when she gave the treat to him she was obviously a bit scared and doing it in a weird way leading him to snatch it from her and her making another rude remark. very poor interaction in total — i mean you work at a pet store for god sake and you can’t even give a dog a treat!

I had super good customer service, actually.

I had a delivery go to the wrong address, as delivery for one-off purchases and repeat delivery are, for some reason, two totally different sections. So, when purchasing it my correct address was there, but i got a text saying there was a delivery from the old town i lived in 4 hours away, i had to check again. Naturally, it was delivered to my old address, I panicked; Pet barn is not known for good customer service but i liked that delivery is prompt. I assumed i was screwed, but since i'm low income i called up anyway to see if i could do anything about it.

I actually had super good customer service calling up the +1300 655 896 line from a lady called Tina who was super nice and solved my issue quickly! she removed my old address so it wouldn't happen again, and sent out a new delivery to my current address.

my friend had issues with petbarn's customer service in the past, but know i can only think: if you get a jerk, call up later and try again. it's not ideal, but i had a good first experience with it so it left a good impression.

i'm sure if my friend got tina it wouldn't have been an issue. need more Tina's in customer service. Give that girl a raise.

Rubbish rewards programme

I've been shopping at Petbarn for some time. On and off for years actually. I had 2 cats and fish initially, unfortunately they passed. And later again I had 2 cats and fish. I'm part of the 'rewards' programme. Collecting points with the objective of being rewarded with a voucher to use at the shop. Maybe $5 / $10
Basically it's rubbish. I have never collected any vouchers.
Petbarn should note that there are other businesses vying for the pet food business.
I like the staff they're lovely and helpful but really if you guys dont appreciate the business, I'm happy to shop somewhere who does give discounts.

I went in to grab some dewormer for my puppy. I knew pet barn price matched so I went in to price match another store as it was closer to me. When I asked for it to be price matched and showed them the store and the price, they said it's below their cost price and they would only be able to match it at $72 or up. I was like, oh great I'd still be alright with $72, and they were like oh no you have to find a store that sells it above $72 for us to be able to match it. The store I originally wanted to price match was selling it at $68... Ridiculous price match policy.

Just visited the Petbarn store on…

Just visited the Petbarn store on Glenhuntly road Caulfield south. Spent $107.16. On goodies for my dog & my neighbors dogs.
At the checkout I found the customer service lacking in professional courtesy. I unloaded all my goodies and gave the assistant my bag for packing, I thought he would charge each item and then pack my bag, that would be the courteous thing to do and apart of good customer service. I asked him are you going to pack my bag, which he replied is that what you’re expecting and I said it would be nice. He then asked if I was a member, I wasn’t. He handed me my receipt and that’s it. It’s Christmas and he didn’t even wish me a Merry Christmas. He was definitely not merry or nice, I doubt grandfather Frost will be visiting him tomorrow.
Customer service goes a long way! Your interaction with consumers should always be positive and appreciative especially if you want us to return.
Obviously Petbarn doesn’t care. Though I did note the consumer before me had a Petbarn store promotion given to her and her dogs name written on it for some reason, but my dog missed out because I wasn’t even asked.
I was happy and smiling in the store and I certainly didn’t give off any negative vibes to deserve being treated like I didn’t matter.
I’m not even from this area, I live in Seaholme but I work long hours as a nurse and I was just on a break.
Definitely won’t be spending in this store again.
Merry Christmas 2025 being kind to one another costs nothing, and is especially appreciated when you’re working in customer service and we are all feeling on edge after the horrific Bondi massacre.

Useless Customer Service

I emailed Petbarn's info email, which I had the impression that they would be able to give advice on treats because it was mentioned in a response to a review I saw, but apparently not. I asked the simple question of some recommendations on dental treats for my dogs, and basically was told to do it myself. To sum up the response, RICK told me to go look at the catalogue, or type DENTAL TREATS into the search on the Petbarn website, or visit a veterinarian. Like, thank you, genius. I was too stupid to think of that myself. Maybe we should try hiring people who actually know a thing or two about taking care of pets.

This is absolutely bullshit never hadn't to put up with this at playhouse paw paw you should be able to charge them for wasting your time. Will never use this service again and I suggested other people shouldn't either. I think they put regular customers before other people hopeless service

Don't try used pay in 4 with PayPal on this site!!! It doesn't work! They take the money, the order doesn't complete, they don't fix it and you have to wait a week for PayPal to release your money. It happened twice and customer service did not help. Its a money hoax and soooo annoying

not happy and unable to copy the basket order and so this software is a real hard task. Will cancel the order down grade your customer service and never come back again

`Customer Service what a joke, NO training wants the customer to answer all the questions over and over again. We do not work for Pet Barn we are customers with real problems with your software. Tried to purchase one of your products and it would not proceed even though all the info was correct.

The software for the customer service people cannot tell what your order was or when the problem started - seriously you are looking like a back yard hack job. Hope these comments are taken seriously and Management does improve the software for the customers and not the format of Petbarn.

I went into PetBarn in Brookvale on the 25/09/25 and was interested in purchasing a ZEUS dog water fountain to encourange my dogs to drink more water. I was served by Aliesandra and she showed my the item and how to put it together. She also said that I could bring it back if my dogs did not like it. My dogs were afraid of it and would not drink out of it. Also it made a low humming noise which i thought was annoying. I returned to the store and was refused a refund or a credit note.. I told them that I had been told that i could have a full refund but they refused to acknowledge this and stated that i was told the wrong thing and could not get a refund. I was very frustrated because there was no responsibility for having been told the incorrect information and they two managers were repeating no refund. I paid $99.99 for the unit plus 48.99 for the filters. I felt really bad and felt they couldn't care less. I have spent hundreds of dollars every month on my dogs at this store. horrible experience.
