Buyer beware

Very poor quality home with defects everywhere you look. Home was purchased 2yrs & 4mths ago & since purchase we have been fighting with the company to rectify faults sometimes having to have faults repaired which were created by the previous employees attempt. Repairs have included-
At least 5x visits to address leaking front door
Every internal door had to be replaced due to being either cut to short or rebates for hinges being hacked (I think that a rat had been employed to chew them out)
Front main window wrong size/shape for the building and had to be replaced due to no strengthening built in (still wrong pitch)
Kitchen sink dented & cupboards damaged which had to be replaced (after several threats of legal action)
Shower not working
Cladding not fitted correctly, not level & cut too short, some areas not even reaching the window frame.
Gas leak from boiler
Hole smashed into the floor in the sitting room by a hammer causing large area of breakout to the underside.
HDMI socket fitted for TV but no cable running to it.
Kitchen radiator pulling out of wall
Unable to open soap drawer on washing machine as kitchen unit door would not open far enough due to hitting radiator.
Stud walls not installed squarely meaning that the passage ways taper.
Just a few of the issues we have had to deal with so if you are still interested in purchasing a Pathfinder home I wish you good luck.

Pathfinfinder RIP?

What a company.....delay tactics after delay tactics! We were always promised from the customer care department that they would fix our water damaged structure on our "Lighthouse model". Unfortunately, these promises were never met and our requests for a timetable of works was always ignored/challenged. The final nail in the coffin was that, because it had taken so long to organise the fixes, we were informed that we were out of warranty. It now appears that Stately Homes have shed their ownership of this company(since 24 September 2024) and the new directors have chosen not to respond to our request for when the works will be carried out. Quite frankly, the home we were sold is not "fit-for purpose". We are now relying on the new residential park homeowner (which has replaced the discredited Royal Life organisation) at Solent Grange, Milford on Sea to admit that they bear an element of responsibility in mis-selling this faulty property to us that is only 2 years old!!

Dont be fooled ….

Please visit the build of your home as it progresses!
We couldn't! we relied on Pathfinders honesty, be true to their word on their build process which they describe as outstanding quality, built by skilled workmanship with exceptional attention to detail.
We were relying on our sales person Jo to keep us fully in the picture promising regular photos and updates to let us see how our home was progressing. This did not happen despite asking for photos many times.
We trusted Pathfinder Homes especially as they had won many awards, for their outstanding innovation and quality with excellent customer service.
Our lodge arrived and what a shock! We understood there would be finishing touches after the sections were put together, but what arrived was a filthy, dusty mess of poorly put together
The carpet was folded over and clearly no attempt had been made to avoid walking on it. Our new home, new carpet, furniture and surfaces were all covered in dust and dirt. Multiple windows were damaged with scuff marks, torn belly plastic exposing the insulation leaving these area open to anything that might fancy a cosy nest. . Cladding not in line nor correctly joint or attached. A joining strip in the wrong colour with nail holes not filled, rust on the chassis, incorrect fitting of washing machine, damaged dish washer and surrounding the list is endless.
Overall there were 40 plus issues on our ‘in need of attention or replacement’ list and that by a formal SNAG check by a Pathfinder employee!

I contacted Jo to say how shocked and disappointed we were. He visited the following day and that was the last we heard from Jo, having seen for himself the horrors he had apparently resigned so we found out later. He messaged to apologise for not being able to see our sales through to resolve the issues but he was on ‘Garden Leave’ unable to communicate or discuss anything relating to Pathfinder Homes.
Our lodge arrived in June 2023, we have had a continual flow of workmen repairing, replacing and making good. We have had to vacate our home to allow the repairs and remedial work to be done for days at a time over the months that followed. We have had to replace the rubbish quality mattresses ourselves and have had to take most of the curtains up as they were too long. The vinyl throughout has had to be replaced and soon the carpet in the front area too, all because they were so poorly fitted with corners cut and carpet patched. We have had a glazier in to make good the dropped door, light bulbs replaced, skirting boards damaged and left unpainted till the 12month final settling cracks filled and painted.
We had hoped for a wonderful new downsized home what we got was a catalogue of errors although Pathfinders have made good most of the issues, our home has had so much done it now looks very second hand needing a deep and thorough clean and complete redecoration throughout.
We have paid out for goods and repairs Pathfinder wont accept as their responsibility. We have asked for a partial refund and compensation for all the disruption, distress and loss of money whilst paying £156000 for something that is in breach of the ‘Consumer Act 2015’ by failing in quality, misrepresentation, shoddy workmanship and of poor quality.
We have been so horribly let down ! by writing this review we hope that others wont have the same disappointment as we have had.
Their brochures describe and show luxurious lodges with all the trimmings leading the consumer to believe this is the product they are paying for. Be warned most of the luxurious attention to detail shown is available but at a cost! Yes you can have bespoke design but please check, visit or insist on photographs of your lodge during its construction, if possible visit and actually do not pay until you have seen the item and are happy with it to be delivered. We assumed wrongly that this company was an honest and trustworthy business. We thought they were as their awards show! It is all a sham to encourage potential customers and has nearly broken us. Their receptionist is rude and managers likewise, arrogant and uncaring, refusing to even consider a partial refund or compensation not even an apology for all we have been through. Beware of a connected company Stanley Albion a company twinned to Pathfinder Homes please read their reviews are so very familiar…we could have written most of them so ours is not an isolated, slipped through the net senario.

Beware Beware Beware!! Check Check Check!! You will not receive a lovely new home but the shoddy sham of a home if you dont! We have to our cost both mentally and financially!
