False advertisement, dirty.

Used to love going to Park Resorts and then Parkdean Resorts but after the latest experience I'll be not be returning!
We have just returned from a stay at Withernsea Sands park. On arrival on Saturday 15th August, at around 16.20 there was no sign on the caravan to say this was OK to enter (as advertised) but we noticed the pack and key on the table and the door was open. Myself and my husband entered the caravan and noted a contact number on the table, we contacted said number to ask if the accommodation had been cleaned. We had noted prior to booking guaranteed assurance was given, that an enhanced level of cleaning was in place due to the current global pandemic, this reassured us to continue with our booking. The receptionist on the other end on the phone assured us that cleaning had indeed taken place and the accommodation was ready for us. Whilst I was still on the phone I informed the receptionist that I did not feel that this was the case and there were several things that did not look like they had been cleaned. Finding things that were unclean continued. Overall finding the following;

Saturday:-

1. Food down walls.

2. Beans stuck to dining table.

3. Spillage on coffee table.

4. Spillage on shelf under TV.

5. Sink had a piece of onion in.

6. Taps dirty.

7. Half eaten cake in the cupboard.

8. Child's sticky handprints all over every window and most door handles.

9. Teabags at the bottom of the steps, on arrival.

10. Strong smell of ammonia in the hallway to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

11. Something in the bottom of the kitchen bin.

12. Previous occupants pack and information.

I was close to coming home, had it not been for the children.

At this point we were asked if we wanted a cleaner sending to which we replied no as we were in the process of doing it ourselves. A 10% refund was offered and agreed, this was before the further findings that followed.

Sunday:-

13. Someone else's underwear (bra and knickers) in a cupboard.

14. Used sanitary towel in bathroom bin.

15. White dog hair on seating.

We informed reception and expressed that we were not happy, we had even bought further cleaning products, including disinfectant spray and air fresheners. We were told it was not acceptable and we would be contacted by a manager the following day. A cleaner was to be sent to hoover seating and remove sanitary towel the same day. We were contacted whilst we were out and informed that there was no spare key and once we were back a cleaner would attend.

Following days:-

16. White dog hair on carpets.

17. Fridge not working properly, not cold enough.

18. Plates in cupboard with pasta sauce on.

It was only upon myself sweeping the carpets in the days after that the amount of white dog hair in the carpet became apparent; and to be fair we never reported this or the fridge because at this point I had had enough. We were told on Sunday someone would contact us; on Wednesday we contacted them as we hadn't heard anything. At this point we were able to speak to a manager, who was not aware of the underwear and sanitary towel that had been found and informed us that a joint decision had be made and that as the complaints were all of the same nature and a 10% refund is all that would be offered (£74).  We further asked who we could escalate this to and she just reiterated that a joint decision had been made and 10% would be the only thing offered.
I had only booked this accommodation due to the previous great experiences we have had at Park Resorts and Parkdean and with the strong reassurance that the accommodation would be deep cleaned. I feel that on this occasion this was not the case and do not feel that the level of cleaning was even to a basic standard. We have visited these parks on several occasions, paying extra to take our own dog as we appreciate extra cleaning may be involved for certain pet owners: but again this accommodation was not cleaned to a basic standard let alone one accommodating a pet, or one in use during a global pandemic.

Our caravan 851

Our caravan 851 could've been a bit cleaner on arrival but the main issue was the leaking and very smelly toilet / shower room which was reported on the day of arrival. The reception phones say they're open 9-5 & 9-6, if you're lucky to get an answer, also the out of hours mobile was not answered, answerphone messages were not responded to, I chose owners option and got an answer. I reported the leak they sent someone out, they said didn't have a part they'd be back in the morning, no sign of the maintenance people, tried calling and calling no answer again so went to the reception, I'll get someone over now, they came they looked (the same person as the night before!) A leaking toilet they asked -Yes the same as last night. I'll go check for the part. Off they went, 20 minutes later no sign called reception eventually answering again to be told if you don't mind them coming in whilst you go about your day they'll get it fixed. Same scenario the next day so we pushed piping together as best as (gross) and lived a week in a hot caravan with a leaking stinking loo. Both the pub and 'restaurant' I consider to be overly expensive but the staff there were nice. The arcade could do with being updated and machines fixed we would not return not even if it was for free.

Parkdean Customers services are…

Parkdean Customers services are unhelpful and rude. Having booked a sun holiday deal and paid for upgraded accomodation I recieved an email saying my holiday was cancelles as I had not paid the balance. I thought I had as I had used the manage my booking option and removed the entertainmemt passes (as there is no entertainmemt ) i thought I had then paid the remainder but it appears it had not went through. Despite 3 hours of phone calls withim minutes of recieving the cancellation email they refused to help in any way at all except asking me to rebook. No politeness,No understanding and despite the cancellation email saying they had tried to contact us several times they admited on the phone that they hadnt tried at all but still no chance you can have the holiday at the price you booked it at you need to rebook. customer service shocking. I will never give them another penny again. One extremely raging mum who is out of pocket by over £130 over a bill of £43 ...

I haven't even had my holiday yet but…

I haven't even had my holiday yet but due to the silence and ignorance coming from the so called customer relations team, I have decided not to risk even entering one of their holiday sites. All I wish to do is make an amendment and they can't be bothered to respond. I've cancelled my payment in the hope that this might get a response but no, not a whisper. All they are interested in is taking your deposit and offering absolutely no service.

1 star because I cant leave zero

1 star because I cant leave zero!
Arrived at our caravan just before 4pm to find that it was still dirty. After walking to the reception area and back the cleaner had already been!! Apparently it takes 3 minutes to deep clean a van??
The van stank of dog wee, the beds, the sofas everything. Walked back to reception who sent the cleaners again...this time it took them 6 minutes to vacuum and spray the van with very strong spray!
Luckily I had packed a full cleaning kit as with 5 kids I wanted to make sure they were as safe as possible during these times.
Onto the beds...one of the beds had been turned over due to the giant stain on the underside! Nice!! The double bed in the lounge was absolutely disgusting. Stains and smells like dirty dog. My only choice was to sleep on the floor as the cushions on the sofa stank of dog wee, even after buying a bottle of upholstery disinfectant spray.
It gets better. The cooker was broken and wouldn't light, the curtains had unknown stains on them, the toilet flush didn't stop and ran all night, and at random points the light fittings would drop from the ceiling.
I appreciate that taking a dog and children on holiday has its disadvantages, and i did not expect a nice new shiny van...but i did expect it to be fit for humans and at least clean???
Having tried every day during my week to contact customer service to no avail, I have no choice but to write this and try and warn others!!!

Do not buy a van from these!

Whilst the park itself is fine, I would advise against buying a caravan with these. We were told lie after lie during the sales pitch. Really disappointed with their unprofessional manner. Customer service also leaves a lot to be desired once you’ve signed your life away. Avoid !

I have a caravan here and it was the biggest mistake of my life. When you go to buy , their great all bells and whistles we are great here, very friendly. BUT that changes very quick money, money, money all the time , they go into your van all the time leave the heating on and tv. We do rent ours out but why are they using gas and the tv to clean it. When it came to the time I kept free for my family I told the team I didn’t want them in now and did it up for us to use. Went down with the kids, only to find the van cleaned with all our bedding gone. Not just once this happened. This is not just me everyone on site has this problem. They phone you every week trying to sell you another van . I wouldn’t buy a packet of sweats from the crooks. Also if you have a problem the staff just say phone head office. Why are they there then. Stay well clear

Liars/ cheats/ worst company I have ever come across

All this company wants is to take as much money off you as possible, once you bought the caravan which you will get ripped off you are on your own. bought mine for 14k (got told off a ex employee they are scrap caravans that are bought for under £1k When you come to sell it they offer you £1k again and most the time won’t Buy it back in the hope you walk away from it and just give it back.Caravans broke into regularly which parkdene want nothing to do with(salesmen said caravan site Is full of cameras When I bought it, got told they have only 1 on site that works(saving money)
Staff Doorman sell drugs And using cocaine while on duty(caught them in the act on many occasions and they just laughed about it.
Heard of many horror story’s where they have ripped old women off by selling them overpriced caravans and when they can’t afford it anymore parkdene have offered £20k less then when they bought it and they only had it a few month. BE WARNED Just read all reviews they are all true. If you want a good site try haven I have heard a lot of good stuff about them. Parkdene deserves to go bust for how it has treat they customers. Karma has come parkdene your greed has got you here.
