Contacted directly on Linkedin for translation work
This company contacted me directly on Linkedin asking me if I would be interested in taking part in a Japanese-English translation project. I asked them what the pay is and they told me that they would not discuss the compensation until I send them my CV. They also insisted that I fill out some forms and register on their database.
They gave me some vague response, saying that the rate of pay depends on the project. They refused to even give me a rough idea of their rates of pay unless I register. I find their manner unprofessional and time wasting. Why would I want to send them my CV and provide them with my personal details only to find out that their rate of pay is inadequate. The person who contacted me representing Pangeanic didn't even have a name. They didn't even give me a phone number. I get the impression that they're just trying to harvest CVs.
