When suspension lift kit is fitted it increases the distance between the transfer box flange and the diff flange. This increased distance can cause the prop shaft to run out of spline travel. Fitting this 15mm prop spacer helps return the prop shaft to its normal operating length therefore allowing full spline travel which also helps reduce the characteristic "binding" of the yokes when a prop shaft is over extended.

It's a bit flash for the old Series 1 but the spacer kit was simple fix to rectify the prop shaft length after new springs were fitted.

The 2003-2004 Discovery front drive shaft is 15mm longer than the 1999-2002 drive shaft. This spacer allows me to use a 99-02 front shaft in my 2003 Disco, which is a much cheaper replacement part than the 03-04 version.
