I ordered yarn (2 different lots of expensive yarn) asa gift. Having no updates a week later ,and it had not been posted, i telephoned ( no reply) i left a message asking for a date they will post. Still no further update. Very poor customer service, not reliable, don't order if you want anything in the next week. I ended up having to go through
Paypal and got my money refunded. I was then sent an email from Outback yarns saying they had found the wool. It sounds absolutely disorganised. Never again.

Atrocious.
Placed an order, they sent the wrong item.
Tried emailing them, using the contact us form on the website, and phoning them. No response.
Am unable to get a refund.

This is a very lovely, very small company.

Having read other reviews here, I was a little worried about ordering, but went ahead with a paypal-backed order. I ordered some truly beautiful fabric at a good price and some paints.

It did take a while for things to arrive so do expect a little wait, but be assured that your patience will be rewarded!

They contacted me to let me know the paints were out of stock and sent the fabric separately. It took a few weeks for the paints to come, but they did arrive and, like the fabric, were great.

They have a really good range of crafty stuff and the prices are very good too. I will definitely buy from them again.

Yarn ordered on the 11/11. Confirmation received with order number the same day. Yarn delivered on the 18th of November. I have ordered more of the same yarn from different company last night. Confirmation the same day and today email telling me is out for delivery. I don’t like the luck of Communication.
The other problem is that yarn was packed loose into large envelope. Has it been left outside in this weather would definitely been soaked. Every other company I used packed their yarn in waterproof envelopes. For this reason will not be ordering again.

The first time I ordered from outback yarns the delivery came relatively promptly but with very little communication. The second time, it's been 9 days, no communication, no idea when my order will be fulfilled. Email not answered and phone call just goes to voicemail. Luckily I paid with PayPal so am able to get it refunded easily. Shame though.

I sent for a mystery pack a while ago, it wasn't the greatest yarn, some old and others with tea stains. I wrote a review on the website stating this. To my surprise this morning a lovely note and replacement yarn with an apology letter.....the yarn was a lovely mix. Customer service excellent!

I have ordered yarns and other items from Outback Yarns a few times and I've always been satisfied.
The last order was for discontinued yarn. It took slightly longer than other times, but the order status was updated accordingly, so I knew what to expect.
Prices are competitive if not the lowest around. Good choice of fine wool and cotton.
They also have a huge selection of very nice free patterns.

Delivery in under 24 hours!

I am hugely impressed with the service! I just ordered a meter of fabric yesterday at 4pm and this morning at 9am I'm opening my package of fabric!

That's about as good as it gets in my book!

Read reviews— Avoid! like many other buyers I placed an order for Rowan Cocoon yarn and was so pleased to find this little gem since it was discontinued- a week later and no wool and no response to my emails. PayPal stepped in and refunded me. It is a shame because it has all the making so of what could be a very successful reputable seller. I do not recommend and will never use them again. Outback Yarns - listen to the reviews and have a good shake up.

Just to balance some of the negative reviews here which made me hesitate before ordering. Put in order Thursday, shipped Friday and received Saturday. 3 emails sent to update order status although these did go to my junk folder I can’t hold that against the company (people saying no communication-check your junk folder). So, prompt service, good communication and was cheapest on the internet for the item I ordered. No problems, would recommend.

I paced an order with 24 hour delivery, 3 days later I rang Outback Yarns as the order has not arrived but they said they couldn't look into it with Royal Mail until 14 days have passed. When I questioned this they hung up on me.

I received my order within 48hrs. Beautifully packaged, and excellent quality. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this company. Thank you.

very responsive to communication on the website, friendly and helpful. delivery was prompt, yarn arrived 3 days after ordering, well packaged in yarns original box.

Beautiful fabric delivered quickly and exactly as described (glad I read the description properly to understand how they will cut multiples - they sell in FQ units so odd numbers will be one solid length plus 1 FQ). Initially missed all the confirmation/order detail emails which had been delivered to spam. Was advised via FB Messenger to check my spam folder and found all were there as well as a query email double checking my quantity.
Would order from this team again. Despite being short staffed, and despite the apparent lack of communication (which was just a glitch of it going to spam), they were pleasant to deal with and very helpful.

Absolutely recommend this site. Have ordered a number of times - a small family business with such a great range and much more friendly than interactions with much bigger retailers with similar lines. Needed to whitelist their email address (as advised on both their website and Facebook page) and all smooth sailing.
Orders have all arrived in reasonable time (remember that they aren’t Amazon - real people running both online and physical store) and in great packaging. One yarn colour wasn’t in stock but a suitable alternative was offered by email and my phone call to follow up was pleasant and resolved the issue.
Personally, I think other reviewers here have not given a reasonable review of this business and just wanted a whinge. Their Google rating is well upheld by the number of positive reviews as well as their onsite reviews.

Look at trust pilot reviews before placing an order. Wish I had .I Placed an order over two weeks ago . Website stated delivery 3 days .I have emailed , phoned 3 times and left messages and tried to contact them via there website but had no response. Called today and actually answered my call. Asked about my order status was told it wasn’t in stock and they had refunded me . They had not refunded me and had made no attempt at contacting me . When i queried this they hung up on me . customer service is non existent . DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!

Placed an order on 24/6/22 still not received it despite 3 emails I just get an automated response to say they are short staffed. If it does not arrive tomorrow I shall be asking for a refund. Will not be ordering from this company again. They should not be taking customers money if they are unable to fulfill orders.

My wife placed an order on 4 November & has still not received the goods. Sent several emails but have only had one reply. I only ordered from this company as I placed an order earlier in the year & it was delivered within 5days. Will not be using this company again.

Absolutely no communication, no dispatch times and no word on shipping. I placed an order on the 1st October, it still hasn't shipped.
I run a business myself and while I can appreciate the factors that cause a bit of delay, this is ridiculous. Stop taking people's money for orders that you can't dispatch in good time.

Ordered some knitting yarn on 22nd May which was showing in stock and paid with PayPal. Received a confirmation of order. Around 2 weeks later order status was showing “awaiting fulfilment” so sent an email to query the delay. No Answer. I let another week pass and emailed again explaining that I was in no rush for the yarn but could I have an update as still showing “awaiting fulfilment” Again no answer. I decided to query through PayPal and actually requested a refund. Within an hour or two I had been refunded. No email to apologise for the delay and shocking customer service at not replying to my queries. Do these people not want business. Until today I had been willing to wait for the yarn. Just wanted acknowledgement to my queries. Shocking service.
