The first week of training went all good, information about conditions and my rights were communicated by my trainers and they explained carefully that we employees have the right to request days off especially on those weeks when we are scheduled to work 6 day in a row.
I reached the onsite office, asking for information and support, she claimed that they cannot do anything about that since they expect us to be flexible. First red flag.
I receive the planning for the upcoming three weeks and I see that I am scheduled to work from Monday to Sunday, with only one day off on Wednesday. That week I am scheduled to work three different shifts without a day in between before the nightshift. I came again to the office and asked for this, again they claimed that I must be flexible.
On Monday after the six daywork week, and after my first nightshift, I hurt myself at the workplace due to the nature of the job, its lifting boxes and products that exceed by far the maximum allowed by the law, and their own Labour Agreements (which stands on 10kg on repetitive work).
I called my team leader to quit and leave the workplace since I am In the probation period. They did not let me quit, but sent me on sick leave instead, with all it means. I managed to get an appointment at the hospital with a specialist, and since day 1 they harassed me calling me multiple times per day and gave me written warnings due do my "grey absence".
I just received another phone call from their sick department explaining that my sickness is not accepted, and the law in The Netherlands states to that a company does not accept a sick leave, it has to be processed by the company doctor, which I was never invited. I have the proof that I visited the hospital today and yet the person who contacted me today "kindly" asked me to return to my country.
Otto is that kind of company that treats their employees really bad and punish them when they suffer from the contradictions they apply. I shared in my intake conversation that I wanted to work 5 days max per week and only after the contract is signed they state that their calendar starts on Sunday so they can schedule you 6 times per week.
I find it funny how a company that is built from immigrants have the audacity to feel superior and tell others to go back to their own country when they are the ones bringing people here to work in these conditions and treat them almost like slaves.
They only care for their employees when they are polish, then you come to the office with questions and they speak poor English or Dutch and they look at you like they do not understand, and yet have the arrogance and audacity to tell you these kind of things.
Don't let these people fool you and ALWAYS have your documents, contracts, and agreements in hand because they will find the way around it to sanction you and make what it is in their hands to keep your money, because of course, they also did not pay the first shift I worked for them and this was not written anywhere, they only changed it in the planning once I had worked that week. Its shady, not transparent and exploiting.
This should be audited by the government and I will do what's in my hands to achieve so.

Great company that strives to make good results. For good workers is a great place to begin the journey in the Netherlands, like everywhere can happen there were small mistakes that weren’t intentional and were solved immediately. So far no complaints from a hard worker. Cheers.

Lack of comunication and even worse accommodation.
Dont go with them, at least dont go with them to Netherlands. They just promise that you will live together and then split you up. Consider looking up other agencies or go on your own and talk straight to company you want to work for. Otto just want your money, thats all they care for.

The OTTO staff is organised, well trained and helpfull from my experience, same for the applications and digital services they provide.
The worksite management is also helpful and job oriented.
The locations they provide are multicultural and often, some employees do not follow the simple rules, which are established in order to guarantee respect and minimal comfort of each other(The common spaces are not maintained clean as it should be(inside and outside the ceilings) , the smell of cigarettes both tabaco and drug ones, also loud music are not something unknown.).
The location staff is doing their best to keep the locations at normal conditions. It is hard to educate ethics and empathy on grown people.
