Paid for a nonexistant room
I booked a room on Orbitz. When I contacted the hotel (immediately after booking on Orbitz) they told me they had no rooms available. My card had already been charged, so I reached out to Orbitz thinking it would be an easy refund. I was wrong. Orbitz reached out to the hotel which was unwilling to refund the cost of the room and Orbitz dropped it there. Whether it was the hotel's fault or Orbitz, no one was willing to take responsibility.

I just changed a flight at orbitz and it downgraded my seat. I had to change the dates of my flight and when I did it Orbitz did not carry over my seat preferences and now it is proving very difficult to change this and impossible to speak with any one at Orbitz

I’m extremely disappointed. I booked through Orbitz and had serious issues — and they did nothing to help.
Customer service was useless, slow, and didn’t solve anything.
I was promised a refund and only got part of it. I sent documents, followed up many times — but they just ignore you.
They take your money and disappear when there’s a problem.

Worse experience ever
Avoid using this website. It is extremely difficult to reach a real person. The platform constantly redirects you to a virtual agent. If you need to make any changes to your booking, you're forced to cancel and rebook. Only afterward do you discover that cancellations are non-refundable, resulting in being charged twice for the same reservation.
The management is unhelpful and rude, showing no willingness to resolve issues. I ended up paying $7,000 for a room that was originally priced at $2,600.

I strongly advise against renting a car through Orbitz. I thought everything was paid upfront, including insurance, but when I arrived, I was blindsided by unexpected charges. They insisted I purchase additional insurance and required a $1,000 deposit. On top of that, they force you to use their toll pass (iPass) at an unreasonably high cost. It was so frustrating and misleading that I walked away without the car, losing $150 in the process. A complete waste of time and money.

Bait and Switch
On two separate occasion I booked a flight on their website to find out the fare type clearly listed was different than the confirmation received directly from the airlines. The posted information on the booking and the itinerary. Information clearly listed one free checked bag included in the fare type. Airline itinerary states a different fare type with no bags included. Reached out via chat and email. Instructed to wait 24 to 72 hours for response. Response received for a request I never made. Clarified and described the problem. Orbitz response and strategy, not our problem talk to the airline. Same exact problem occurred a year ago with the same fare with a free checked bag I purchased with the same airline only to found last minute no baggage included.

Orbitz Management - WAKE UP! Once gain, a Supervisor has hung up on me rather than help. No raised voices, no threats, just asking for help - "Jerry" hangs up the conversation. I booked tickets Months ago to Norway and Brussels. A flight was changed on Lufthansa - ok no problem. I accepted the alternate flight from Brussels to Frankfort, then Frankfort to Denver. Now I am caught in a nightmare. Lufthansa says the B to F and F to D tickets are NOT issued. Every time I talk to Orbitz customer service, they say they ARE issued. I cannot book seats with Lufthansa until this is solved. AND YOU THINK I AM EVER GOING TO BOOK THROUGH ORBITZ AGAIN? HELL No! Can someone please, for the love of God, please tall SOMEONE on the executive team, someone other than a gate keeper, to step in and help! Thank you! (If I could leave ZERO stars - I would have)

I had a very disappointing experience booking through Orbitz. I purchased a multi-leg international ticket for my son—from Tampa to San Francisco, then to Hong Kong with United Airlines, and finally to Kuala Lumpur with Cathay Pacific. Due to a delay in San Francisco, my son missed his connecting flight in Hong Kong. Although the delay was beyond his control, neither United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, nor Orbitz offered any meaningful assistance.
Orbitz completely refused to help rebook or advocate on his behalf, despite the fact that the entire itinerary was purchased through their platform. Their customer service was unhelpful and unsympathetic during a very stressful time. As a result, my son was forced to purchase a last-minute ticket with a different airline to reach his final destination.
I expected Orbitz to take some responsibility and provide support in resolving the issue. Unfortunately, their lack of cooperation and accountability added to the frustration. I will not be booking any future travel through Orbitz and strongly caution others to consider alternatives with more reliable customer support.

Booked a one way ticket international flight, to mu surprise when checking in there was no flight. they just never booked it while taking my $1001... was never told why it was cancelled, worse than that calling csr 10 times in the middle of the conversation got hanged up on while frustrated at the airport looking ridiculous it was a total chaos and chock to me will never never ever use them again, after 6 hours of calling last chat agent named Goma was a bit helpful she offered me either a full refund or rebook since I have to get to my destination asap I did choose to rebook for another day, was investigating why this flight was cancelled in the first place with no warning or notification their system has flaws

Yep long time user and trying to get hold of an agent is near impossible.
I have a list of complaints all from different reservations. Times have changed.
1.The most amazing was I had a flight through Orbitz and received an email from Expedia saying they had cancelled my flight - You can only imagine how many hours of my life I was on a call for that one!
2.Booked car hire online and insurance - don't ever do that because who ever the car company is are going to charge you again anyway! Recourse start laughing now.
3. UA Flight was cancelled right before boarding - but it was a code share with Brussels airlines - HA!!! who are not on the ticket!!!do you think I can get hold of them?? I think if Orbitz made the reservation then they should be responsible for the refund not have me running all over trying to find a contact.
Times have changed and getting ripped off seems to be the business now.

Had to search the internet for their customer service number. Finally got some dude in India who could barely speak English. He ignored my questions and spent most of the time telling me he would definitely look into my concerns, repeated several times the flight was confirmed (although he could not pronounce the word correctly). I finally just hung up.
I’ve been a long-time Orbitz user- never again
I’ve been a long-time Orbitz user, but after this experience, I’m done. I booked a rental for my mother through Orbitz, which advertised unlimited mileage—but when we arrived at the rental location (NextCar), they tried to charge us $20 per day for it. I called Orbitz immediately and was told they couldn’t cancel the reservation but would open a case and reimburse the extra charge. That didn’t happen.
I provided photos and proof that unlimited mileage was included in the listing, but Orbitz ultimately denied the refund. I had two more trips booked through Orbitz that I canceled because of this. They left us stuck in a terrible situation with an unsafe car, and didn’t stand behind their booking. Be very cautious—Orbitz does not support you when things go wrong. Not worth the risk.

Hey orbitz. Why did you charge me $600+ for a hotel two weeks after I cancelled it on your app!? Your app stinks, your customer service is useless and now you want to deny a refund?! Fair warning to others. Book directly yourself.
