I strongly advise avoiding Opodo.
I paid extra for exit row / extra legroom seats, clearly marked as such on their seat map (blue icon, positioned at the exit row). However, when checking directly with the airline, the assigned seats turned out to be standard economy seats with no extra legroom. The actual exit row was a different row entirely.
This means the product was clearly misrepresented at the time of purchase.
When I contacted customer support, they avoided addressing the core issue and instead gave irrelevant explanations about seat assignments, ultimately refusing any refund. They completely ignored the fact that the seat type I paid for was not delivered.
This feels misleading at best and dishonest at worst.
Be very careful when booking through Opodo — what you see is not necessarily what you get, and getting your money back can be extremely difficult.

I had an extremely stressful and unacceptable experience with , and I strongly advise others to avoid this company.
In March, I booked a ticket for my daughter through Opodo. I carefully entered all of her details, including her date of birth, but when the ticket was issued, it was in my name instead of hers. This was clearly a system error on Opodo’s side. I immediately contacted them, and after almost 2–3 hours of arguments on the phone, they finally corrected the name without charging me.
Shortly after, without my consent, Opodo enrolled me into a “Prime membership” and charged £100 from my account. I never signed up for this. When I called to cancel, instead of resolving the issue, their agent tried to convince me to keep it by offering the same benefits for £50 and promising I could cancel anytime with no fees. Even getting that £50 refund took over 6 weeks and multiple calls.
The worst experience happened when I had to urgently travel from London to Dubai due to a serious family emergency. I booked again through Opodo, and when I tried to check in, I discovered they had incorrectly marked my gender as male, which prevented check-in.
I contacted Opodo immediately. First, they told me it was not an issue and could be resolved at the airport. Then they told me to contact the airline myself. When I contacted , they clearly stated that only the booking agent (Opodo) could fix the issue.
After hours of stressful calls, sharing my passport details, and being put on hold repeatedly, Opodo told me they could not fix the issue. They gave me two unacceptable options:
Cancel and rebook at my own expense
Wait 8 hours with no guarantee of resolution
As I had an urgent flight, waiting was not possible. They ended up cancelling parts of my journey and only refunded one segment (London to Dubai). The remaining flights (Dubai to Cyprus and Cyprus to London) were not properly handled, and I was told to contact the airlines myself, even though I had booked everything through Opodo.
When I contacted , they informed me they had only received a small amount from Opodo and that cancellation charges would apply. This completely contradicts Opodo’s claims of “free cancellation” and “no hidden charges” under Prime membership.
In the end, I was charged cancellation fees, service charges, and hidden costs. Even when I cancelled the Prime membership, they deducted £50 despite previously promising no cancellation charges.
This company operates with poor systems, incorrect bookings, hidden charges, and no accountability. Every agent gives different information, and no one takes responsibility.
I run my own business, and I understand customer service — but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This company feels more focused on taking money than providing a reliable service.
I would never recommend Opodo to anyone.
Don't even bother with Opodo Prime subscription, cancelling is an obviously intentional chore

First horrible experience: You cannot manage subscription on the app/website, they make you call then
Second: AI chatbot answers the phone
Third: The admittedly very friendly operative (a real person) being made to ask me ask me a huge amount of questions trying to convince me to stay along with having to make me wait for a retention deal I was never going to take.
The poor operative I talked to was the only good thing about this experience.
The reliance on AI, forcing you to call them to manage your subscription and the amount of questions after requesting cancellation has played a huge factor in me never using Opodo again, let alone choosing to resubscribe

I contacted their support for 20 minutes, and they only offered a partial refund. This feels like a hidden scam. Please beware when using Opodo to avoid such surprise charges!
