Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 237 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers reported issues with misleading pricing, where initial cheap tickets quickly escalated in cost after booking. Reviewers frequently reported being informed that their booked flights were unavailable, requiring higher payments or date changes. This often led to unexpected additional charges and unconfirmed reservations, making the booking process frustrating and unreliable. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with individual staff members. Several reviewers praised specific agents for being helpful, patient, and efficient in assisting with reservations, finding boarding passes, or resolving seating issues. These individuals were described as going above and beyond, providing clear guidance and making the experience less stressful for users.

My experience with one dollar fly has…

My experience with one dollar fly has been very enjoyable and they were very helpful. My seats were sprayed out all over the plane and Tim Jones helped me and allowed us to be able to sit together. I appreciate him going above and beyond. It took the stress away.

Would leave 0 stars if able to

Would leave 0 stars if able… this is a terrible company as they lure you in with cheap prices and they call you the next day to tell you that no seats are available on the flight you want. They lean on “flexible” within their terms and conditions which really means an unknown window of time or date they can get you on a flight. You’re basically paying for “stand-by”. Dont use this service if you want to keep your plans. Also, it doesn’t cover ANY baggage to include carry ons or anything. Who travels with just the clothes on their back??? Once you realize the scam you’re stuck and your money is too. They don’t give anything back in a full refund. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!

Thought I'd give OneDollarFly a try for comparison

I saw OneDollarFly as a possible comparison while trying to book on Kayak. I was suspicious, but decided to try it anyway. They "offered" fares well below the going rate, which raised my suspicions more. But I submitted a booking request anyway. On a hunch, I called to check the posted expert number to find out about possible baggage expenses. It's a good thing that I called. They put me on hold forever (music, no announcement). Eventually I reached someone, who said they would call back in 20 minutes. About 90 minutes later - in the middle of my wife's and my anniversary dinner - they finally called back. For the next 30 minutes - while my wife ate alone and my dinner got cold - they haggled with me over changes to the itinerary. Finally, they came up with something that looked agreeable. Then they informed me that they could only accommodate one person, not the two of us. Eventually I settled for a less than optimum arrangement. Oh but it wasn't over yet. I got another call about 2 hours later, telling me that the anniversary dinner arrangement wouldn't work out either. I stood firm on the price. Ended up, after another hour of haggling, with tickets on days that were not optimal, on a red-eye one direction, at a different airport (2 hours' drive away), and on Frontier Airlines (need I say more?). Checked baggage extra. In frustration, I accepted the lousy itinerary and bought the tickets. Five minutes after I hung up, I went back to my computer, and moments later found that I could have bought tickets directly from Southwest Airlines, with exactly the dates and itinerary I wanted, from my hometown airport, and slightly cheaper than the OneDollarFly price. I would never do business again with this incompetent, poorly run outfit.

They advertised a cheap flight

They advertised a cheap flight, took my card information, and did not book the flight. They use a bait-and-switch scheme to force customers into paying higher fees over the phone, claiming the airline has no seats available but that I can pay more to upgrade my seats.

One of the worst online ticket buying…

One of the worst online ticket buying platform where they mis present the information specifically fare & misleading the passenger once they submit the request to book a ticket. However later they will force or scam you to pay more money for same ticket or change the complete itinerary. This sort of online platform must be complained with respective local department of aviation consumer protection.

Don’t not use this site!!

Don’t not use this site!!! You will not get tickets with what you selected date. And they don’t allow to cancel or change even an hour late after you booked and received emails. In email I found the tickets have wrong date. With that date ticket I cannot catch my booked cruise.

I spent whole day to call them without resolution. Also tickets were not found from airline site with confirmation number from emails. That means tickets were not created.
Don’t use this site onedollarfly it will not give your tickets.

Bait & Switch

Booked with One Dollar Fly for quoted rate. Received an email that said "Your booking request is submitted and currently being processed. Once ticketed we will email the electronic tickets. Fares and seat availability are only guaranteed once your ticket is officially issued by the airline. Airfares fluctuate constantly based on airline availability. There may be a hold on your card as pre-authorization to verify funds. If your flight becomes unavailable or the price changes during processing, our team will contact you immediately with alternative options or updated pricing. You will not be charged the higher fare without your explicit consent." Well, the airline didn't agree to their proposed rate so One Dollar called me and said I could fly different dates for the rate they quoted or pay an additional (almost) $500. I told them neither situation worked for me and I didn't authorize the booking. They basically said it was too late and they confirmed the booking with the airline. I argued with them and hung up and locked my credit card. I received a booking confirmation from the airline and had to call them and explain what happened and they confirmed the booking ultimately did not go through. Bait & Switch company!!!! Stay away!

Straight up terrible

My boyfriend and I have vastly different budgets when it comes to travel, and because of how his family is with money, they insisted he could buy his own flight to ATL from Orlando on southwest.

When we got to the kiosk to get our boarding passes, his would not work, so we asked the desk attendant. She couldn’t find his flight record of him purchasing and when she did eventually find it; he couldn’t be checked in. I called them twice, first time they hung up, second time I was on hold for almost 30 minutes before giving up. Apparently, the money was refunded earlier in the week but the email was sent to a completely different email. Not like a misspelling that would be understandable- completely different.

Due to a flight delay we were able to get him on my flight after he was on standby, but it’s completely insane to send a confirmation email and a “your money had to be refunded” email to different addresses. Especially with how there was no other way to tell until 2-3 hours before the flight took off. The “mistake” cost me $200 dollars to fix in the end, and I never got a chance to argue with the website.

My boyfriend is no stranger to off website booking for flights, and nothing like this has ever happened. I recommend just using something slightly more expensive and avoiding the hassle all together. This website prays on people in worse off situations, and if I hadn’t been there with the money available to pay the $200, he would have no other way of getting on the flight. Shameful.
