To become a customer being foreigner in…

To become a customer being foreigner in Norway is difficult.

I called several banks and all of them gave vague answers - a completely different approach to work back home in Spain.

However, I really think that Nordea is suitable for expats.

Before receiving my fodeslnummer, they explained me everything in their office in Oslo.

After that, thursday 9th April I did my ID check and today tuesday 14 th my bank account is opened.

Special thanks to Miriam and all the office workers, you were so helpful.

I tried

interest free period for the car, because I had a negative credit, I paid installments for 6 months in Nordea before each deadline, so before time, they rejected me with the excuse that I have a negative mark, in Santander bank after 6 months you can get this interest free period, this bank does not help people, I will do everything to change the bank, I am very disappointed

By today date I want to register the worst experience ever plus non professional customer service and I have all screenshots! Me and my dad we tried to call and we waited customer service to answer us for 54 mins over the phone I tried to reach anybody and no one is there inly one person on Instagram and told me I advice you to wait when finally someone answers he told us you can go iso omena Nordea to get your username user id without appointment. After wasting 1 hour on phone we went to iso omena and we wasted another 45 mins to reach there my dad went inside and they told you cant have your user id today then I entered and talked again I said one EMPLOYEE said that we go there and we will get the user id!!! After talks and questions one employee was hesitated that this is right and he can get it again the first one said there is a problem opening the online banking for you today which is at all not professional answer what problem in a brand new account that wasn’t even activated ? After this experience it is only ONE decision am changing bank! And not advising anyone to open accounts there! No employee can say something that is not right I wasted 2 hours one over the phone and one to the bank itself, I wasted time I wasted energy and I wasted money!

The worst experience ever

The worst experience ever, like everything in Denmark. They are happy to have your taxes and smiling, but when you do not have a value they screw you ASAP.
I moved out Denmark permanently and 2 days after Nordea frozen my account fully with all the money on it, all the app is blocked, there is no possibility to write a message in the app. Before moving out I came to the bank in person to discuss all the steps, the manager told me I would be able to provide the details of my new bank account on the chat of the Nordea app and they will transfer my money and close the account. Nevertheless, they just closed it with all the money without any notification and now they simply do not reply!!

Genuinely worst support. Stay far from them.

I moved bank a couple of months ago and I genuinely regret it.
Nordea has by far the worst support I have EVER experienced, and that includes the atrocious support I had with Ruter, Brakar and OneCall.
Not only are the money late by a whole day, chat support always asks you to wait then disconnect you for "inactivity" and when you call them, there's ALWAYS minimum 1hr wait time for something that could have been fixed under a minute.
I genuinely regret moving to this bank and I strongly urge you to not become a member. You will not get any help from them for months at a time.

Don't care about their customers

I have been banking with nordea for 13 years. I have been working for 11 years with the same company and make decent income. I requested a line increase on my credit card, which is currently almost nothing and I was declined with no explanation at all. I have never paid a bill late in my life. I have excellent credit. It seems like someone is sitting behind a computer and accepting or declining depending on their mood, with no consequences. I'm sure I was declined based on being a foreigner. Racist people who don't care at all.

Nordea just locked my account and my…

Nordea just locked my account and my money in there, as they apparently have a new policy that I cant live abroad and have an account open. there was no communication on this. I asked them to move the money to my other account but this was not possible. I had to call their number (that costs) to make a personal appointment. I was planning to visit Finland in summer so I asked to make appointment somewhere in Helsinki area then. All the appointments were fully booked. Now I called again to make an appointment for Christmas when I visit next, and now they told me that they do not have the shift lists yet so I can not book an appointment yet.. My money has been stuck in there for several months, I am unable to get an appointment and the customer service is just rude. Even before this incidence it the service was bad. They have replaces all personnel with chat bots and its impossible to get service. I do not recommend.

Nordea blocked my bank id

Nordea locked me out of access to my finances and use of the medical system for 20 days. I can not pay my bills or log in to any medical apps. How is this possible? Well, in nearly 50 years of my life - I have not seen anything like it and even didn’t expect it possibile.
After waiting in long queue in customer service they simply said nothing could be done and it is all my fault.
The incompetence of Nordea is beyond words!
No wonder so many customers left and we are definitely moving our accounts from them asap. A bank you simply can not trust!

No words to describe the nightmare…

No words to describe the nightmare using this bank. It keeps throwing you out when you haven't finished filling in the form (or whatever you're doing). Nobody i.e a real live person to talk to.

Worst bank ever tried 2 months to log…

Worst bank ever tried 2 months to log on with bank ID, trying to call customer service,they treat u like an enemy.
I had nordea since I did military service 40 years. But no longer.And they don't have the service like DNB where u can meet a human being,but they r very fast to charge when they want UR money! I talked too around 12 people who say the same. Just wonder how many it really is? Going to change bank tomorrow.Nordea take ur TIME and money.

Can't fix their mistake on blocking credit card which is fully paid.

Having paid in full my credit card, it is active and for whatever mistake from Nordea's side i can't use it anywhere. - looks like is blocked -

I have been calling them for 3 days in a row and no answer or solution has been found to that issue. With their response being that card's department is very busy!!

No respect of its customers whatsoever. Easily one of the worst banks in Norway nowadays, if not the worst.

Worst experience in my life

Worst experience in my life. Just tried to open an bank account! The employees are unfriendly and unhelpful, just tried all the time to send me away. First they want to have an id kort. Weeks after I got it, they want to have a statement from my german bank, that all the money is legal!!! Crazy people, crazy bank. After that treatment they have thrown me out of the bank.

Great bank

Hi everybody!
Do not trust the bad reviews here. Most of them are made from expats in Norway, and they complain about the bank ID which takes long to arrive. Fact is, it doesn’t depend on the bank for the bank ID. In Norway, the bank ID is the equivalent of a social security number, and the bank has to wait for the SSN to be controlled and produced by other public institutions, such as the municipality and police stations.
If you look, for example, at things that ONLY depend on the bank, such as a new credit card, they’re extremely fast, and most often send it out the very same day that the card is requested.

Talking about the bank, it’s been 8 years I’m with Nordea, and I would never change bank. Their site is not extremely user friendly, but works very well, and the phone app is super user friendly and has a lot of different functions. The best part is the costumer service. They have a chat option that is definitely worth the wait (sometimes 0 minutes, some other times 45 minutes). The costumer service is great. Everybody speaks E glish, and they always helped me with everything. Like literally, everything. Need to take out of a fund some money you invested? They rxplain how and how long. Have a question concerning savings? Boom, solved. It’s clearly humans behind the screen, and nice one. I never had a complain towards Nordea both as a bank and has a group of nice humans behind the screen. Never seen a costumer service so effective and nice, in any other bank or platform. Would definitely recommend!

Worst bank ever

Worst bank ever. I have to wait more than 1 month for an user ID which will be sent by mail, but I never come. To contact call center, I need to wait at least 20 min. Even for the bank account number you have to wait at least 1 week to have an appointment and then another 2 weeks to receive Pin code. After that, you log in to the Net bank to get your bank account number. It’s just bank account number.
