Newhavenbuildingcompany Reviews

We had a 2 story extension built in 2025. We have been back in the house just over a year. Ross was very easy to work with, project came in on budget and on time. We moved out while the work was done and were back in 5 months later. While the house was basically empty we also had Ross work on other rooms in the house so it was pretty much a atop to bottom overhaul! Ross was on site every day keeping things moving. His crew and trades were also very easy to get along with and keen to please. Would use him again without a doubt.

Ross and his team have just completed a job for us. We could not be more pleased. Communications were excellent as was attention to detail. The work was done speedily without compromising on finish. All members of the team were pleasant to work with. Our neighbours were delighted that the pavement was washed each night as they left. We would recommend them with no hesitation.

We had a great experience with this company for our garage rebuild. Ross was good with communications and proactive in keeping the project running smoothly and to schedule. The team were great to work with and always very courteous. We are very pleased with our new garage and Ross has been very keen to ensure that the project was completed to our satisfaction,

This review is long over-due, but Ross and his team did a great job of some substantial extension to our house back in 2022. Cost was reasonable and transparent, communication was friendly and informative, work was carried out efficiently and on time (even ahead of schedule, which is very rare for the building business), and after-job care was also superb (e.g., covering small remedies advised by the council more than two years later, which was the most recent experience this review is dated for). We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for builders.

Just had my extension built by Ross and his team. On time, on budget and to a very high standard. Would highly recommend. Ross and his team were fab to work with and nothing was a bother. My extension has exceeded my expectations - it’s lovely.

Ross and his team have just completed a home renovation for us. They took down a structural wall and add new doors/ windows alongside a new patio. Our kitchen was fitted with care and diligence.
From start to finish Ross was personable, approachable and knowledgeable.
We are delighted with the new space that has been created.
The whole team are friendly and efficient, the work is carried out to a super standard and after each day they tidy the space.
I was happy to fuel their hard work with plenty of juice and chocolate!

Delighted with our extension and new kitchen! Ross and his team (and subcontractors) are exceptionally efficient, tidy and polite, and work to a very high standard. The communication throughout our project was excellent, and the best bit... it was done and dusted in just 7 weeks!

We would highly recommend Ross and his great team of builders. Ross project managed our renovation - advising, sourcing and supervising deliveries. The work was completed on time and to a high specification. He had good communication throughout. The team were all pleasant, hard working and tidy. There was minimal disruption to us and our neighbours.
Ross is a totally honest, hard working and a genuinely nice guy who went out of his way to make the build as stress free as possible for us.
We certainly will be recommending Ross to others.

Ross and his team have recently completed an extension on my house and I cannot recommend Newhaven Building Company highly enough.
From the off set he was great to work with. His experience & knowledge, attention to detail and timeline for completion were excellent.
I was amazed at the speed in which they worked and reached their target of completion in 6 weeks. Every day they kept the site as tidy as possible and facilitated a temporary kitchen/washing area to help with living in-house during the work. In addition, Ross kept me up to date on a daily basis of completed work and plans for the following day.
They were also a a good bunch of guys to have about the house (and if anything my 7yr old keeps asking if they will all come back as she misses them).
Overall a brilliant and straight forward process to create my dream home, and in time for Christmas. I cannot thank them all enough.

Ross renovated my entire flat. He had a vision for the flat that he shared with me and gave a lot of guidance throughout the process.
For me, it was a stress-free experience and I am delighted in my new home and with the work that was carried out.
He was excellent at sourcing the specific materials that I wanted.
Thanks again!

Ross and the team completed a lot of work in our home. A rear extension. Created new bedrooms with built in wardrobes and family bathroom + utility room. We were so pleased with the outcome. the team are so organised keeping us informed throughout the process letting us know what what’s happening & when the communication was fantastic. Nothing was an issue as we made a few changes and the team accommodated this easily. Ross would always give us sound advice and help us create or vision. The team are dedicated hard working, reliable and honest. We would without a doubt use Ross & the team again. Thank you for giving us such a lovely family space without any stress. ☺️

5 Star Company
From the initial meeting,to arranging the start date and the building work starting Ross and his Staff couldn't have made things any easier and stress free for us.
We needed quite a few changes during the build which was never an issue. Talk about being dedicated to getting the job done to the highest level with minimum disruption to our home.
I have and would recommend Ross to anybody looking for work to be done on their home.
Thanks again Ross It was a pleasure having you complete our home

I just wanted to say how delighted we are with the work that Ross and his team have done. Knocking down a conservatory, making a new sun room and transforming our kitchen and dining room into one amazing light space.
They were such quick and efficient at the work and it was completed well ahead of schedule. Ross and his team are such hard workers and really professional. Ross project managed the whole thing so it was seamless from start to finish. They were so tidy despite the disruptive work they were doing and very reliable.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to do any building work and think you would be daft to go anywhere else!!

Newhaven Building Company recently completed a garage conversion for us. The work was completed well ahead of schedule, within budget and we're delighted with the results. Ross and his team did a great job, kept us updated throughout and also went to great lengths to minimise mess and disruption both inside and out (to the point that some neighbours pointed out how tidy they are!).

Every aspect of the work was covered by Newhaven, so we had no need to involve any other tradespeople ourselves. I'd also not hesitate to recommend all the other guys Ross had involved in the work...roofer, painter, electrician, plasterer, carpet fitter....all were great.

The end result is a full finished garage conversion exactly as we'd hoped for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Newhaven Building Company to anyone.

Had a very good experience with Ross and his team. They did an excellent job relocating our kitchen, transforming our dining room into a kitchen-diner and creating a new study where our old galley kitchen was. The job involved some tricky drainage and pipe work, which they carried out without a hitch.

They also fitted a fantastic new wooden floor throughout the study, kitchen-diner and extending right through the hallway, which looks and feels great. I particularly appreciated that they managed to do this all within the original timescale for the job because the floor was a bit of a late request from me after work had already started.

Without exception the work Ross and his team have done for us has been of a high quality and very reasonably priced. Communication was also good. Unlike some other companies I have dealt with he actually gets back to you. Overall I would definitely recommend New Haven Building Company for any kind of home renovation work.

I cannot rate Ross and his team highly enough. We had a rear extension built and are absolutely over the moon with the results. The whole project was completed on time and in budget and the quality of the workmanship was first class. All throughout Ross and his team were very professional with minimum disruption to us and our neighbours. The site was tidied up each day. If I’m honest the extension has turned out better than we had expected and I have no hesitation in recommending this company for any building projects.

When we were looking for builders for our extension project, we contacted a lot and had a handful round to develop a formal quote. Ross's correspondance was quick and helpful and when he came round to view the site, you could tell 1.) that he really knew his stuff; and 2.) that he was a good bloke (which could be important if you spend 2 months with them in your house).

His quote was very competitive, but not the cheapest. This actually served to reassure us more, as he evidently costed things accurately. He is also very diligent, studying the architects plans and making sure they were carried out accurately, apart from when he had to get the architect to alter the designs because they had made a mistake in the measurements. Even then, he liaised directly with he architect and building control to approve these changes without hiccup.

The only thing which held us back from booking immediately was that we couldn't find any information out about him online with the exception of one Trustpilot review. This, it turns out, is a combination of 2 things. 1.) Bad timing, Ross set up the company in December, just in time to be locked down and therefore generating no content; and 2.) he's just not a big social media person, far preferring just to crack on and work rather than show it off. However, he supplied two references for us and they came back with very positive reviews.

But we went with gut instinct and we are really glad that we did. Ross and his team were fantastic. On the first day they seemed to do about 2 weeks worth of work and, even with an extra job of replacing the entire, rotten flat roof, would have completed the 8 week job in 6 weeks, were it not for the delays caused by the flooring company in supplying the flooring.

The worked hard, and efficiently. Ross managed the project well, with subcontractors slotting in for the time needed, when needed so no momentum was lost in the project. The quality of work was great and he solved problems easily.

We’ve already recommended him to friends and you’ll do well to book him.

First class service. Very pleased with the extension of our kitchen.
