wish I had off read these reviews before handing my car over to them. My car had minor damage they told me needed a new bumper wheel trim front lights an repaired alloy they told me 7-10days with updates on their progress, I received hardly any updates constantly chasing my car they give me a completion date that date come an the car was still not ready, so they gave me another one which was today. When I called up the man said they needed to order a new bumper which now delayed it again for another few days !!!! So from 7-10 working days now turned into 4 weeks I am yet still to pick my car up and if their is any damage done to my car done by themselves I am going to FLIP. They just lie through their back teeth an haven’t got a clue what their clearly doing !!! Worst company ever do NOT USE
Tonbridge Branch
Tonbridge Branch
Terrible company. My car went in with rear damage it came back with 4 cracks on the windscreen. They then tried to say that it went in with a stone chip and cracked due to weather conditions!!!
Still trying to get my windscreen replacement excess to be paid back by them….
Other problems with my car which took them 8 weeks to repair!
Do not use them.
Formby repair centre! DO NOT USE
After having a crash in my new car my insurance gave me this garage for my car to go to. After reviewing my car they said the repairs would be done within 7days! No contact was made to me other than me having to chase them up, after 8 days I made a phone call to them and they told me they were waiting on one part which would come in a couple of days and then it would be ready! The end of the week came and still no contact so I rang again and this time they then said they are waiting on a different part although they failed to mention this the first time. I used the track my repair service online which they told me to use which said my vehicle was ready to pick up, this was a lie and the garage even informed the insurance that my vehicle was repaired which therefore informed the hire car business that I would be giving my courtesy car back, which therefore would leave me without a car! Finally the day came when I was receiving my car back and being a young girl never experiencing this before the man made me sign off before he had removed the car off the wagon, this was a huge mistake as once he left I found the drivers seat to be covered in dirt, wet tarmac splattered up one side of the car and a huge dent in the wheel arch which wasn’t even made through the crash but at the garage! How they failed to see this when doing their quality control is beyond me and how they thought they would get away with this?!? When ringing the garage after finding these faults I was refused to speak to the manager which I find appalling as working in a customer service industry myself I know that there is anyways someone in charge no matter the time or day.
Please do not use this garage as I’ve been given unnecessary stress on top of all my university studies stress which has caused me medical issues.
Use your own garage and AVOID these!
It's interesting that a lot of the pages and pages of 'excellent' reviews from the last three years have been removed. It was incredible how similar they all were, following the same written format, always mentioning staff members full names and speaking in direct contrast to the hundreds of negative reviews on here. Maybe Trustpilot removed them?
I'm like the many on here who've had an utterly appalling experience with Nationwide. Mine was the branch in Trafford Park, they charged the insurance company about £4000 and it was later proved that over half of the work they'd said they done hadn't been done at all. I fought it and went to the Ombudsman and won. How on earth these cowboys are still operating is beyond me. My car was damaged after someone went in to the back of me, and Nationwide made what was already an incredibly stressful experience a million times worse. They are a fraudulent company and I urge everyone to go through their own choice of garage, don't let your insurance company make you use these. And if you've had already problems with this garage, go to Trading Standards and the Ombudsman, they're already aware of this network of fraudulent garages and will help you recover costs and get your car sorted.
Nationwide Harrogate took my motability…
Nationwide Harrogate took my motability car in to repair and gave me a courtesy car. After they fixed my car they checked the courtesy car and there was a minor scuff, which I know I didnt do because I hardly drove the car and it was always parked in the driveway. They wouldn't listen to a word I would say, and said they are going to put a claim in with my insurance! I hadn't checked the car properly and now i'm regretting it. Let's see what happens. :(
If they are an approved repairer for your insurance company you can take where you want so take it elsewhere do not use.
Having had a articulated lorry roll into the front of my berlingo van, early in December 2018. It was picked up and taken to nationwide crash repairs Bristol on the 4th January. I showed the driver the damage to the van and about the under tray that had dropt off and put into the back of the van. After 10 days I tried to phone them but no one answered. So called the complaints department who also had trouble getting an answer so sent an email to tell them to get in touch with me. I was told they where waiting for parts. I asked why had I not been asked to bring it down to them to do an estimate so they could order the parts then book the van in as it was still drivable, and told they don’t do that. After another 4 weeks I was told they were waiting for a headlight, and that was going to the paint shop the next week. Next week arrived wrong front panel had been sent waiting for the right one which needs painting. On the 29th March I had a call to say the van was ready but the key had broken and they had order another one.
On the 30th I went to pick the van up. I looked underneath to see if the under tray had been done it had not but had been taken out of the van. The estimated came out to look and said he didn’t know it was to be done and they would order one. I said it need the bits it bolts to also. I took the van while they ordered the part 2 days later I had a call to say the part was in if I called in first thing in morning they would fit it. So I went in they could not fit it as it needed the wheel arch inserts to hold it. I was given a new key of which I changed the blade but would not work as it needed programming to van. I then pointed out to them wait for it they had fitted the wrong headlight. So the manager comes to look as well as the Forman and panel beater.
They said they would order the parts and program the key.3 weeks later the van was booked in for 7th May to have the work done and pick up a courtesy van. Showing the receptionist what was to be done and key needed reprogramming. On 13th I had a call to say it was ready. Next morning I go to pick it up everything is doing except program the key and told it would be 3 weeks to book it in for that. Today the 17th it was in Citroen to have work done and key programmed and nationwide given the bill which they have paid me.
I will not recommending them to anybody how they become an approved repair for insurance companies I do not know. Someone is getting a good back hander, and have a complaints department at the insurance company.
It has taken 6 months to repair a little dint in the bonnet grill and under tray and van of road which it need not have been.
BEWARE OF THESE COWBOYS ****** HOWARD…
BEWARE OF THESE COWBOYS ****** HOWARD BASFORD ALTHAMS NATIONWIDE
my car was in for repairs the damage wasnt major (scrapped/scratched bumper, rear broken lamp? broken bracket and one sensor needed plastic welding) resprayed the whole bumper without any prep left the rear sensor without fixing it. the paint is flaking off the bumper lip its only been a few hrs the lady asked me to sign the handover paper which i took a picture of and refused to sign anything proper cowboys and liars. phoned the insurance and they're looking into it. and oh yeah proper cheap skits took out the inner fender screws to hold the bumper leaving the holes without any screws. my advice ask your insurance if they're taking your veichle to these plonkers just tell them its a NO!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
My Audi A5 was stolen and recovered and sent to this bunch of Cowboys by my insurance company (Admiral). It had been slightly damaged on the rear wheel arch and the drivers window had been smashed. The car had also been reprogrammed to a different key. The car had been stolen, driven 3 miles and then parked up waiting for the coast to clear.
I was told by J.C.C. That the repairs would take 2 weeks, and that I would receive telephone updates along the way. After 3 weeks I contacted them to be told that they were waiting for approval of works from the insurance company. On subsequent occasions when I tried to contact them they would not pick up the phone, or if they did they would immediately hang up!
After 4 weeks I received a call from them saying that there was a judder on the clutch and that this had to be replaced. I advised them that I was aware of this judder, which had been present for some months. I also advised them that this could not be as a result of the theft as the car had only been driven 3 miles. The car was subsequently booked into the local Audi main dealer for the work to be carried out, a further two weeks down the line! I requested that I have the car back in the interim period but they refused saying that it was not safe to be driven. After lots of subsequent phone calls to them where they lied through their teeth I was eventually contacted by Audi to advise me that the clutch had been replaced but they could not release the car as J.C.C had refused to pay for the work. A few days later I received a call from J.C.C. Saying that they had collected the car from Audi and that I could have it back in a few days after they had checked the work that Audi had done. I blew my top and told them I would be collecting it the following day, nearly 7 weeks after they had received it.
On collection I was given a 3 page document identifying all the work that had been carried out which included the replacement of the rear door window, which is very interesting as it is a 2 door car!
Many things were still wrong with the repairs and they had also damaged my newly refurbished alloy wheels. The car has been back to them on two more occasions for remedial work and on the final collection when they still hadn’t repaired the wheels, I was told by the site manager to “go away” as he didn’t want to deal with me.
I have subsequently been paid nearly £700 directly from the insurance company for me to have the wheels repaired and also as compensation for the amateurish way in which I have been treated by J.C.C.
If I could be bothered to spend more time on this issue I would take it up with the insurance ombudsman, but in all honesty I am sick and tired of it all.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE LYING CHEATING CROOKS WHO ARE RIPPING OFF INSURANCE COMPANIES AND PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THIS, ALL OF OUR INSURANCE PREMIUMS GO UP TO COVER THE COST OF TOTALLY UNNECESSARY WORK BEING CARRIED OUT.
First class service at Walsall
Having suffered a front end bump, I was advised by insurance to take my car to Nationwide accident repairs at Walsall.
The service I received from this company from when I left the car with them until I collected it was first class. I was updated regularly on how the repair was progressing. The quality of the repair on completion was excellent and was completed in 4 days. The only minor problem I had was one one daylight lights was not working, but this was rectified while I waited within 10 minutes by Richard. I would definitely use this company again and recommend.
Excellent Service
I had never been involved in a car accident until now, so I was of course wary of my car getting repaired through a company organised by my insurance (I hear horror stories all the time!). I had my car fixed by the Bournemouth Team. Although my LV policy doesn't ordinarily provide me with a courtesy car, Nationwide were able to offer me one anyway. Thank god I did have the courtesy car as the car took a while to repair, but Nationwide kept me updated via text message throughout this period. Really simple and easy process and the repair to my car was spot on. No complaints at all!
Happy with Service
Recently had a bodywork repair done at Nationwide in Chilwell and was very pleased with the work done. I was kept well informed of the status of my car by Nationwide. I didnt have many dealings with the staff personally except for a gentleman named Alex who bought the courtesy car. I found him to be friendly, professional and polite and did a thorough hand over during exchange of vehicles. He filled me in on all the relevant information and showed me round the car so I was comfortable driving it. So on this basis I can also say that the customer service recieved was also very good.
I have recently had my vehicle repaired…
I have recently had my vehicle repaired at Nationwide.
After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive on using there service.
Due to there location to me I decided to go ahead with the repair.
I am pleased I went ahead has I found them to be excellent and very professional.
They phoned me prior to commencing the repair and explained what work would be carried out and the repair was finished before time allocated.
All finishes were to a excellent quality.
I would certainly gone back to them again.
Worst company ever dealt with. Disgusting treatment.chatham Kent
Worst company ever dealt with. Complete rubbish.
Poor doesn't cover it!!!!!
Collected car from me on 1/4/19 Drivers door had been pulled out of alignment and rear window rubber surround damaged when broken into.
Car delivered back some 15 days later, Trim badge missing, Trim on new drivers door not fitted correctly, rear window damaged not fixed, overall spray job looked poor.
Rejected car and it's back with them! I will update review upon receiving the car back for the 2nd time,...... Whenever that might be.
In closing their 2 out 10 TrustPilot score seems bang on and probably flatters them. Sadly I can see this going on for a little while longer, Even when it does come back I'm paying for a professional report from a experienced sprayer to put my mind at rest.
Personally I would Avoid.!
First class repair service at Canterbury
My recent experience of the Canterbury Centre was first class in every respect. Information written and phone was fine. My car was collected and returned in good time with damage perfectly repaired. Staff were courteous, professional and friendly. If only all service experience was of this standard.
Glasgow Govan Branch ( Excellent Service )
My car was taken to the Govan branch in Glasgow and everything was absolutely perfect from them excellent repairs after my accident and also the staff kept me informed along the way.I would also like to give a special mention to Craig who organised my courtesy car and also the drop off of my car in brilliant time when it was finished I have to say he really knows his stuff and took the time to explain everything about my car repairs excellent customer service thank you again Craig.( Mrs Conlon )
Shocking repair DO NOT USE
Definitely do not use nationwide repairs ! Sent my brand new Scirocco in for repairs along the undersill and rear wheel. I received it back after 2 weeks and the paint work was atrocious! Bumpy, uneven, very clear where the repair had been done, not completely to its original standard at all. The wheel had been severely scratched in the accident, which they sprayed over rather than repairing the wheel. Sent the car back as it was unacceptable, another 2 weeks later we went to fetch the car and yet again it had not been done to standard. We noticed they had attempted to secure the trim around the wheel with double sided tape!! Drip marks throughout the paint work, clearly had not been done by a professional. Front tyre was flat and looks as though the wheel has been curbed, and now have a pressure light on the dash which wasn’t there before. I am now waiting for my insurance to agree to allow my car to be repaired elsewhere as I no longer trust them with my car
AVOID Nationwide Brooklands
AVOID Nationwide Brooklands they have ruined a brand new car with just 1400 miles on it
Tried to return the car with a cracked windscreen then took 2 weeks to replace it. When it was eventually returned the windscreen trim had been glued down and the rear driver side tyre had a massive bulge in that they told my insurance company was there when they got it but failed to fix it or tell me! Very dangerous and a potential 3points if caught!
Dereliction of duty and willful endangerment - legal action is being taken.
My wife had the unfortunate experience…Audi A1 airfix job
My wife had the unfortunate experience 2 years ago at Nationwide Boston, had to get an independent engineer to assess the mess they made of her Audi A1, he suggested they must have thought it was a airfix model after the awful paint job. £3000 to put it right. Stay away from them.
Had a non fault via box insurance
Had a non fault via box insurance. This was my insurances repair garage. After having my car for 2 months, only needed a new wing, bumper & wheel. (They billed my insurance company £500 for a new wheel) and when they gave me my car back, it wasn’t a new wheel, just filled and badly painted. Told them I’m reporting them to trading standards for fraud, they sent it in the post. Had to pay £30 to get the wheel fitted. Fraud against the third party billing them for a wheel that they never had. Had the wheel checked and it was buckled and in balanced too. (Got £175 compensation from my insurance). Also their was massive gaps and was clear to see my car was in a crash. They said that’s the best they can do. Cost me £50 for a Machanic I know to line up the wing and bonnet. It was also missing bolts and was unsafe. My car also smelt like chemicals and I couldn’t have anyone in there. I had a full tank of desiel which when I got my car back had a quarter left. Also my mileage went up by 220 miles. Maybe the garage was using it after they fixed it? I had warning lights on dash after saying abs and airbag. The final bill was £5850 for the damage, for a new wheel (that wasn’t even on the car) new wing and bumper. Fraud company.
