Allwyn seem dodgy to me!

Since Alwyn took over from Camelot
1) Despite a similar incremental rise in the winnings ie number of tickets being sold is very similar to that of Camelot, under Allwyn the jackpot is rarely won until way above the 150 million mark (Camelot there were regular jackpot winners under 50 million mark). And the number of Uk jackpot winners has taken a dive! It does not make sense that a change in company with no other differences being made that this should be happening! I have complained to the gambling commission and I urge others to if they have noticed the same! Every time the jackpot does not get won Allwyn make more money…

Deeply useless game

Deeply useless game! If I had a magic wand, I would make sure nobody plays this game. These people have no conscience. What a ripoff.

Don't Sped it all at Once

So let's get this right I pay £2 and win £1. Revert back to how it was nobody likes it and we are falling like the Autumn leaves.

Hi, Peter. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Once you’ve bought a ticket, any prize or prizes won would be classed as a win. Plus, you now have the chance to win more than once in a single draw, which would cover your ticket price.

Bring back the old format

The new 2 draws lottery is nowhere as good as it was. You don’t even get the cost of a ticket back anymore. Bring back the last format. The “making more millionaires” is just a gimmick. You have forgotten the smaller prize winners, these are the people that keep the funds rolling in.

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The change significantly improves chances of winning a prize. A regular player, assuming average luck and playing 104 draws a year, is expected to win more over the year under the new format because of the increased opportunities to win and the chance to win more than once in a single draw.

We are being ripped off by the new…

We are being ripped off by the new concept.
On the old system you got £30 for three numbers, logically on the new system you should get £15 for three numbers as the odd of getting three numbers is halved, but you don’t you only get £10 so lotto is making an extra £5.
The same can be said for getting four numbers, logically you should win £70 (half of the old payout for four numbers) but you don’t you only get £50, there is an extra £20 per winner for the operators.
However for five numbers you now get £1000 which is more than half of the old payout, but here is the catch, there are far fewer people who get five numbers so the extra £125 per winner they are paying out is well catered for by the extra £5 & £20 they have pocketed from the lower winners.
To put this into perspective I picked a random draw from the old system, 60,149 people won £30, in last nights draw 102,460 people won £10, this means that lotto gained an extra £512,300 from keeping the £5.
You also need to bear in mind a lot of people have stopped playing, but the bottom line is, on last nights draw there were 1,119,175 winners, winning a total of £3,289,428, on the random draw I picked there were a total of 654,610 winners who won a total of £4,368,612!
The figures speak for themselves, we are being ripped of big time.

Have been playing the lottery since its onset, always enjoyed it and hoped for a big win, with the changes now made your chances are virtually zero! £1 win for two numbers is an insult! Once my tickets have finished I will stop playing, not worth it😤😤😤

It's time for an in-depth scrutiny and thought investigation.

In my personal opinion one of the biggest SCAMS pulled on british soil, and even worst the fact it is legalised.
Big jackpots advertised almost everywhere around the country and media, but in reality prizes are little or nothing.
Only a fraction of their revenue goes to players, the rest is all administration costs and so called "charities ".
There is a conspiracy theory going around that SCRATCH CARDS have serial numbers for a specific reasons...
Apparently they know where the winning cards are and they sent their personnel ( SCIENTIFIC GAME LTD ) to buy them before they get sold to the public.
STOP playing, you hard earned money only goes into the pockets of people that already have more wealth than you.

charities will lose, but WE GIVE UP !

We have played the lottery ever since it started with two lines twice every week. It was £1 a line then £2 a line. The return in prizes have got less and less. We paid £32 a month and the most we ever got back was £30. Since the recent changes we have got £1. we don't know how much charities will lose, but WE GIVE UP !

New Lotto is truly dreadful

New Lotto is truly dreadful. Allwyn had the opportunity to fix the mess Camelot made and go back to 49 numbers, but came up with this nonsense instead. No-one wins the jackpot still, they just don’t win it 2x 2x a week. The £1 for 2 numbers is ridiculous. They missed a golden opportunity though - sack off the £1 per 2 numbers and make the 3 numbers £20, the numbers add up and would make people happier. This nonsense about more millionaires than ever before - sure, but how many millions roll down when the jackpot just does not get won? Did the lottery even consider that most people would rather have a 10x chance of winning £1m vs a 1x chance of winning £10m? Player numbers plummeted when they changed to 59 numbers but wouldn’t admit their mistake, this change is just confusing and still means the jackpot doesn’t get won. I really don’t understand how either change made it past the most basic of focus groups. In a real business heads would roll when these sorts of decisions are made but the lottery just double down. Just embarrassing.
EDIT - their response just confirms my review, the refusal for them to acknowledge the issue is staggering. NO-ONE is winning the jackpot. It rolls down to tiny prizes. If they actually did a survey or a focus group, do they think people would enjoy that no-one ever wins? Hey, come and play the new loot, 2 chances now for no-one to win the jackpot! The arrogance in refusing to accept the huge errors that have been made is just staggering.

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Of the 111 millionaires created this year (not including Jackpot winners), 54 of them have been since the Lotto changes in June. These have come via the 5+Bonus Ball prize and includes the 10 from the Lotto Guaranteed Millionaire Raffle.

I do find it curious that they removed the reminder to renew your lottery ticket once its run out online. I'll often forget top up my account as a result. I used to play lottery twice a week. The last 6 months I've changed that to once per week, just to be in it. No interest in powerball. or any of the others. Winning £87 in 15 years is not a big enough incentive 🤣. I don't agree with some of the charities they give to either. That being said. I'll play £8 per month for 5- 10 more years and then stop as I'll be too old to care about winning.

Done With The Lottery

The new website is appalling but demanding that I dance the MasterCard SMS verification code dance simply to add £20 to my online account was the last straw for me. Done with the scam.

Absolutely disgraceful.

Absolutely disgraceful.

These scratch cards are an insult to anyone unfortunate enough to spend money on them. Calling them “poor value” would be far too generous. They are utterly pathetic.

The entire experience feels like a masterclass in taking customers for fools. You hand over your money, scratch away with a tiny shred of optimism, and are rewarded with yet another worthless piece of cardboard. At this point, you would probably get more entertainment from watching paint dry.

Whoever designed these must think customers are complete idiots. The concept is so laughably bad that a room full of clueless amateurs could probably produce something more convincing.

The so-called “chance to win” feels about as inspiring as being offered a choice between two broken toilets. The cards are effectively disposable rubbish with a price tag attached.

Honestly, they belong in the bin — preferably before anyone wastes their money on them. If there were an award for the most disappointing and pointless lottery product imaginable, these would be strong contenders for first place.

Utterly embarrassing. Completely disappointing. An absolute waste of money.

Do better, because this is not entertainment. It is barely even a product.

Shocking

Shocking, I didn't use my account in 10 months, I log in tonight to buy tickets and it said i needed to add funds, so i try to add funds, my old card cannot be used as i no longer have it so i try to update the card and, it says i must first withdraw the 30p that in the account. But when i try to do that i get the message "withdraw funds unavailable: you cant withdraw funds while you have a pending transaction. please try again later". I HAVE NO PENDING TRANSACTIONS AS I HAVE NOT USED IT IN 10 MONTHS!!!!! After being on the phone in a cue for 4.5 hours waiting i said enough is enough and closed my account. I decide to open a new account and it says i cannot open an account as i have one already, i used a different email and says the same thing, wtf!! i did not use any of the same details as i have moved address in the past 3 months and did not update it last time as i never used the lottery really, i did not use the same email address either, the only thing the same is my name, nothing else, so according to this they can only have 1 person with the same name within the UK. What a load of BS national lottery is.

Czech Mate Allwyn

OK, so I opted to end my National Lottery account about a month ago. I have now tried to re-establish my account using my original sign in, but that was not allowed, so I tried to register as a new customer.
Registering as a new customer was not allowed as National Lottery found a link to my original account and therefore disallowed registration.
So I tried to get help from National Lottery help unit and went through that procedure only to find that the email I was using was not recognised as a registered National Lottery account address.
Then, I get an email from National lottery advising I was a lottery winner.
Guess which email National Lottery used to inform me?
So I have now given up.
It was my decision to opt out from National Lottery, and I accept that, but why won't they let me back in?
I never did win big bucks with Camelot, but the outfit running the National Lottery now, will not get my business.
In the Allwyn proposal there was a statement that said they were going to attract more players and create more winners, oh, and, we will work with our CUSTOMERS.
Czech Mate Allwyn.

The new lotto set up is a disgrace and not fot for purpose. I understand that its a personal choice to play but who wants to pay £2 to win £1?

Its branded as more winners than ever before but it now feels like a scam and that they are just ripping off the general public.

It needs reformed or scrapped all together!!

Hi Ross, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The new format gives players more chances to win, create more millionaires and raises even more for Good Causes – all for the same price and with the same number of balls to choose from. Since these changes were introduced, Lotto has created 57 new millionaires.

I've just realised that the national lottery now gives you 2 chances of winning but what they don't tell you is the prizes are now lower so it could be you winning £1 it's a absolute joke I'd like to know what they do with all that money they take in because they don't pay much of it out they just get more and more greedy

Hi Alex, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The updated Lotto game now gives players 2 chances to win prizes of £1 million or more in every draw. This has meant reducing some of the lower-tier prizes. Since these changes were introduced, Lotto has created 57 new millionaires.
