Mturk not worth it for non-us residents
If you do not live in the USA, don't work for them. They will credit your amazon.com with gift coupons that you will never be able to spend unless you have an adress in the usa.
Once a gift coupon is transfered from mturk to amazon.com it has a lot of xxxx in the code and you can not gift it to anyone.
They will not accept a payoneer account even though amazon.com works with payoneer.
Useless, be aware!!
Amazon Mturk is racists
I personally believe the appointment system at MTURK is racist. After reading various forums i see a very clear trend arise as there is almost no white complainants whom applications were rejected. I however found a better service in the form of microlancer.io. microlancer.io pays with bitcoin lightning and charges almost nothing for payouts. Also at microlancer.io disputes are resolved post haste.
Pointless for workers outside of the US
Pointless for workers outside of the US. You can only redeem your earned money to Amazon US gift credit and the Items on amazon.com cost more in postage and import tax than the item costs itself. There is an option for non-US workers to withdraw to a bank account via hyperwallet but only a limited number of people are granted access. You would expect a faster roll-out from a company as large as amazon but it seems like they are dragging their feet and moving at a snails pace. You have 2 options: Earn gift credit and try and sell it which risks getting your account banned or wait an unknown amount of time until you are granted eligibility to create a hyperwallet account to transfer funds to your local currency.

Avoid like plague if you are a non US worker you can't do anything with the earned money ,you can't withdrawal in your non us account they don't allow you to use a third party service to get your money and you can't find objects of your interest on amazon.com where they force you to spend it giving no other option.
Yuck !!!
It should be illegal
Nothing good about this program unless you live in countries where 1 or 3 American cents, or 1 dollar, if you are lucky, are a considerable amount of money in you local currency.
Amzaon has opened a platform and made possible slavery salaries to be paid for tasks. Right, some of them are easy, but some of them take a lot of time, and paying 1 cent, or 3 or 5 in a developed country for something that requires more than five minutes is ILLEGAL This would not be legal in the EU ever.
They have basically made possible for people who you want to work for them for almost nothing, to do so, so they pay you a misery, take your time, and can take up to 30 days to pay you. If you are lucky. Amazon just provide the house, so to speak, but get out of it and doesn't want to be that much either.
You won't be able to make considerable money unless you sleep on your computer and keep doing gazillion cent tests/tasks/surveys.
They ask you for your tax details and personal details even though they don't provide you with a contract or with any sort of decent anything.
How is that legal?
I love Amazon, the shop, but this 'work' rather slavery platform shouldn't exist.
my account was suspened for no reason
my account was suspened for no reason. m turk wont help, wont tell me why.
i made an account years ago made $70 and then stopped using that account. recently i made another account since the old one was suspended for no reason.
then m turk told me that the new account is not permitted to work with m turk and they cant tell me why. incredibly unfair. I hate this so much...
Im a seller on Amazon and was curious…
Im a seller on Amazon and was curious to see what else amazon had to offer. Im running into the same sad circle of confusion another user mentioned. They tell me they can't confirm my identity even though I have had all my bank accounts and credit cards on file with them for years as a buyer and seller. I even logged in using my same password and email. So I go to upload my identity and they ask me instead to prove my address. The email says identity the web page says verify the address. So I uploaded my addres proof and now a few hours later they are asking again for my proof of Identity. I go back and its the same mistake. So now I have uploaded my id this time. I will update if I ever get work there.
Legal slave labor
Legal slave labor. Get paid pennies to give an hour of your time. Doing most of these tasks at a real in-person job would make you a livable wage, but on Amazon Mturk they throw you a couple cents. Pathetic website.
Biggest heap of crap rip off.
This is the biggest heap of crap rip off that Amazon could ever have created. Why bother even offering this to UK people at all? Survey or task hosts are paying a single cent for some workers time. What a disgraceful rip off and a con. Half of the jobs dont even work and you don't find out until you've gone through the rigmarole of linking to the hosts website. These same faulty jobs just hang around in the job list. You can't separate out jobs that are relevant to you, so you have a list of hundreds of crap jobs to sift through. Waste of time.
Don't register here
Don't register here. You can just as well fill in a form "please scam me". You barely get anything for all the hours you put into it. That is if they dont reject you first. There are enough negative reviews to be found online. Should say enough.
You get what you make of it
I have been using mturk for almost two years. It started out as money for the holidays and now that I am taking courses for a career change it is a large source of income. This is like any other self employment, it takes time and hard work before it becomes steady income
It is not easy though. If you are coming in expecting it to pay the bills right away, you will be disappointed. It takes awhile to get started and you will need to get a large amount of hits under your belt along with private qualifications before an amount of money that is reliable rolls in. Amazon offers virtually no direct resources and support, so use of third party scripts and independent support forums is essentially a must.
Pros
1) Flexible hours, work as many or little as you want any time. Some use it as beer money, others actually get a full time income out of it
2) Fast pay, Most hits approve within three days and would can withdraw funds within 24 hours on weekdays
3) Various tasks. Include surveys, transcription, games, data entry, translation and recordings among others, something for everybody
4) Potential qualifications that lead to easy quick money
5) Helpful forums and support groups(not from Amazon)
Cons
1) Many hits are low paying and downright predatory, a script that blocks requesters is a must have
2) Poor support from Amazon-If you are rejected or blocked unless the requester reverses it, Amazon will do nothing. If an account gets closed or damaged by a large amount of rejects, it is almost impossible to get Amazon to step in
3) Self employed-No pay checks or taxes taken out, something to consider if you use it a lot
4) Wages are not consistent-There are slow times of year and good hits go fast, it takes time to get the hang of it.
Overall, a good flexible source of extra income, but not for everyone.
Easy to complete surveys and fast…
Easy to complete surveys and fast payout. I've not had any issues. I can complete surveys and tasks on this site more so than other survey sites that screen me out after wasting several minutes of completing. I like that you don't have to spend much time to know if you qualify or not. I've made a couple hundred dollars from about September to now... could be more if I had more time. I'm happy with the site.
MT IS MT of Honorability
My application to be an MT worker was just denied. I was shocked, dismayed, frustrated and irritated. I don't mind being denied as much as the statement that due to proprietary reasons, they don't have to say why I was denied. In reading many of the reviews on the Trust Pilot site just now I feel a little better. Apparently denial is a common practice irregardless as to whether an applicant is a long-time Amazon member, shopped at length on Amazon, etc. Sure leaves a bad taste in my mouth not only for MT but more importantly for Amazon. I thought they were a trustworthy company, but now I question their trustworthiness. If MT can have so many complaints against this questionable response to well-intention and well-qualified applicants, then Amazon needs to review their association with MT and reevaluate integrity.

MTurk does not notify or justify their suspensions of Requesters
MTurk is a great tool for gathering data or performing micro tasks. Being one of the first to the market and one of its biggest players, MTurk is the natural choice for both people looking for workers and workers themselves. It's not available in many countries, but luckily it was available where I lived.
However, I had the worst possible experience with MTurk. I started a small batch. I was satisfied with the results I was getting (only a few tried tricking us and they were easily spotted).
Though only a few days into it, I was unable to log on to my requester account. Expecting a mistake, I contacted customer support who 'confirmed that I was suspended' and would contact me in 2-3 business days as to why. That is so stupid, but I suspected it was something we could fix at least.
So I waited, and the reason for my suspension was supposedly a breach of their participation agreement. So what exactly did I do? I don't know. Just:
"Due to a violation of the Participation Agreement we will be unable to reinstate your Requester account."
Not at all informative and I've read the agreement multiple times with no clue. So I contact support again, this time also asking what will happen to the 100 € prepaid HITS I have on it. If it's refunded, there's no harm.
Nope. All gone. "A final decision was made", and the money is forfeit. No reason given, just a repeat of the line about the Participation Agreement.
So I'm getting nowhere with customer support. Now I probably did make a mistake somewhere, but instead of helping me or in any way working with me, I'm being silently banned and my money taken, and I don't even get to know why.
I can't in good conscience recommend using MTurk's services as a Requester. As for workers, I can only assume their treatment would be worse.
Terrible customer support!
I'm currently working on my master's degree in software engineering together with a friend. We launched a survey on Mechanical Turk which we needed the data from to verify our results for our project.
However after a couple of days our account got suspended with no notification, warning or reason. We contacted Amazon and all they told us was that we didn't fulfill the participation agreement and we would not get our account or money back.
We have no clue about which part of the agreement we supposedly violated and Amazon refused to expand on it even after specifically asking what we did wrong as we are of the belief that we haven't done anything wrong!
Mturk as a service seems good but their customer service in our case was terrible so we would recommend using another service.
