Abigail is the worst

Abigail is the worst. Poor customer service to someone that has been banking at Msufcu’s longer than she is old.
She doesn’t live by the mission statement of the company. That starts out with “ to provide superior service”…

Performance reflects leadership....and leadership sucks!

I honestly believe that the president and ceo is on a mission to make this place shittier than Wells Fargo. I've used portajohns in the army that were more pleasant than this place. 25 years ago I couldn't brag enough about how awesome this place was. They were like no other financial institution in existence. But just as Harvey Dent said in The Dark Knight... "you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." I'm not going to go into detail on my recent experience with this place that has caused me to feel this way, but what I will tell you is that karma will find a way. It won't matter though because this place has grown so fat that they can't even see their members anymore. They only see how much money they can rip away from their members so the boss can look good on paper and get that fat annual bonus. I also love how they have updated their charter so it's no longer serving the groups of people they claim to serve. Now anyone can become a member. So whats the point of even being a credit union anymore? Just call yourself what you are....a bank! MSUFCU abandoned me in my time of need. They aren't here for me anymore. They are only here for my money. Stay away from this place at all costs. You're better off getting shafted by Wells Fargo because at least there it's what you expect to happen so lube is usually readily available. Here, they will say they care, but then sodomize you both financially and emotionally without any lube whatsoever. I'll end this with a quote from the late George Carlin who said "whoever coined the phrase 'let the buyer beware' was probably bleeding from the a$$hole!"

Great Afternoon Everyone

Great Afternoon Everyone! It's amazing what myself and a great friend of mines had to go through getting a payoff sent to us and also to get clarification on how to retrieve it after asking. We called on 04/23/24 at 1:45 and talk to a young lady there. we informed her that we had spoken to someone earlier and that they had sent a text message to our cell phone. We verified all information that was needed and for the next 15-20 minutes, the person wanted to debate that they do not text phone. I also mentioned that it was message on the app on her phone and she still wanted to debate the fact that I said text message.

If this is how you treat someone that is a member with you and like to debate things we will pass. After this, we asked to speak to a branch manager at that point she wouldn't connect us with one. We have sense then decided to inform the people that we know not to deal with this Credit Union and have closed our accounts with them.

Wait times for telephone transactions…

Wait times for telephone transactions have become unacceptably long, now they are over 30 minutes before I can speak to a human being. Credit Unions tell you they are great because you can use shared branches all over the country. For any transactions of any size I need to call MSU FCU to have withdrawal limits increased and the wait times keep getting longer and longer. I am ready to move to a bank instead of a credit union.

Good Credit Union with Horrible Drive Throughs

I’ve been banking with them for about15 years. Overall, MSU FCU is a decent financial institution - way better than big retail banks. Fees are very reasonable for the industry, and I’ve found their customer service to be excellent.

On the downside, they recently converted most of their drive throughs to “video tellers” - all-and-all, a horrendously bad idea. These save you no time, are ergonomically awkward to use, and bulk deposits are fractionated into individual ones (e.g. you deposit 10 checks at once, each is converted into a separate transaction). The result is people who used to use the drive through are now in the lobby.

Docking them a star for this really badly conceived idea

Getting too big to care

Not sure how they can get better. They have outgrown their customer service and do not appear to have a concern in this regard. The usual platitude "I'm so sorry" given multiple times with no offer of assistance means nothing. They should not have credit union status, but should recharter into being the big bank they are.
