We're genuinely sorry that you feel disappointed following your recent visit, particularly after being a valued customer of our Redditch branch for many years.

Following your complaint, I carried out a full investigation, including discussing the matter in detail with the MOT tester who inspected your vehicle and reviewing the subsequent telephone conversation with the branch. Unfortunately, whilst I appreciate your belief that the seat belt extender became damaged during the MOT, I was unable to establish evidence that this occurred whilst the vehicle was in our care.

Throughout our correspondence, we sought to explain our findings and also offered to inspect the vehicle and remove the extender free of charge if this could be done without replacing any components. Although you ultimately chose not to take up that offer, it was made in an effort to assist despite liability remaining unproven.

I'm also sorry that you felt our staff were rude. Having reviewed the matter, I found no evidence of discourteous behaviour, although I do regret that you left the interaction feeling that way. We always expect our colleagues to treat customers with courtesy and respect, even where there is a genuine disagreement about what has happened.

Whilst I appreciate we have been unable to reach the conclusion you were hoping for, the outcome of our investigation was based solely on the information available rather than any unwillingness to help.

Thank you for your feedback.

When your vehicle came to us, the rear back box had failed and required replacement. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for other weakened components within an exhaust system to become apparent once a failed section has been replaced. In your case, the flexi section was found to have failed, which was unrelated to the work carried out on the back box.

Although the additional repair was not caused by our workmanship, we offered a substantial discount on the parts and labour to help minimise the unexpected cost.

Regarding your concerns about exhaust noise, new exhaust components are manufactured using seam-rolled joints and can sound different immediately after installation. It is normal for them to require a period of use for carbon deposits to build up within the system, allowing the exhaust note to settle.

We are sorry that you felt dissatisfied with your experience. We did carry out further inspections under warranty and made every effort to address your concerns.
