Aimed at the UK market, this website contains information about the things you need to consider when moving abroad. Brief descriptions of major cities, including comparisons to the cost of living back home, and ratings for health care, purchasing power and crime rates, help to give a better picture of what life will be like if you move, and an introduction to the types of things that you need to consider. There is also a section where shipping costs and how they’re calculated is discussed, a selection of advice guides, and a forum, called Ask the Expats, where you can ask any questions not covered on the site. If you are thinking of moving abroad, this is definitely a good place to start your research.

On the move!

They say that moving home is one of the most stressful events in our lives, while this may only be a short distance down the road, just imagine upping sticks to the other side of the World? For those looking to relocate internationally, there will be many questions that need asking and decisions to be made; this is where MoveHub comes in.
Through their website, MoveHub acts as a facilitator and information provider to those wishing to relocate. The website is very user-friendly, easy to navigate and is packed-full of relevant and up-to date information on the place you wish to set up home.
A key feature of the MoveHub website is the comparison between London and each of the 200 international destinations listed. This comparison looks at two key areas – the Cost of Living and the Quality of Life. The cost of living indicators cover a range of products, commodities and services which could include anything from the price of a cinema ticket to the cost of eggs!
For the Quality of Life score, certain key indicators such as cost of living, healthcare, crime rate and purchase power are scored collectively to give an overall score - the Quality of Life. This innovative method for benchmarking and scoring locations enables the user to make an informed choice on their likely destination by only making a few simple key strokes.
Other comparisons are given in narrative descriptions and cover such themes as property prices, schools and salaries, to name but a few.
The scoring method employed on the MoveHub website is also shown in a comprehensive matrix where destinations and key indicators, are selected by the user e.g. where is the lowest crime rate? Very handy! The overhaul score for any chosen location is given a unique MoveHub rating that ranks the each of the city destinations.
The MoveHub website also has some really nice features which includes a useful section on shipping costs and the indicative costs of shipping containers. There is also an option to get a more accurate set of removal quotes on a form listed on the MoveHub website.
Besides the interesting, informative and entertaining MoveHub Blog there is also a chance to put a question relating to your move destination, through the associated partner site - Ask the Expats. A nifty and useful currency converter also features on most of the MoveHub website pages.
Whether its job related or simply a change in lifestyle and location the MoveHub website should be your first port of call to get the low-down on your intended destination.

A great starting point!

This website should be the first port of call for anyone considering emmigrating. It is easy to navigate, yet packs in plenty of detail. The country guides provide a good insight to various destinations and the shipping calculator is a nifty idea. I would happily reccommend this site.

Great resourse!

Found it accidentally when I was searching for some specific information on London. The guide on that site is quite comprehensive and I wish I would've found it earlier. There is nice forum going on as well.
