A very pleasant surprise!

I was browsing Google for a one-off housekeeping session when I came across the Mopp website.
It reminded me of the Airbnb and Drivy websites I already use (btw, if indeed these websites are all from the same company, why not put ads about one another on them?).

It was really simple to use and in a few minutes I had received a confirmation e-mail for the booking.

Two days later Adriana arrived perfectly on time, and when we came back she immediately saw that she had done a marvellous job.

All in all I really appreciate Mopp because it is quick, competitively priced, efficient and reliable.

Disappointing - do not use Mopp

I have used Mopp 3 times:

1. No complaints, cleaner did a good job and arrived on time
2. Couldn't get the same cleaner as the first time and this time the cleaner turned up 20 mins early, luckily wasn't too much of a problem. She did a very average job and definitely skipped corners
3. Requested to have my first cleaner and definitely not the second cleaner. Interestingly I was informed that neither of them are still working for Mopp. Got allocated a different cleaner and she didn't turn up!! So wasted 3 hours just waiting for her and still have a dirty house!! Mopp's Head Office's phone "wasn't working" so I emailed and I got a response about 30mins later to say she had got on the wrong bus. Not sure whether this was just a cover up but Mopp HQ didn't seem too bothered so I guess this is a regular occurrence.

No sincere apology, no offer of compensation, I had to ask for it. I requested a free clean and if that went well then I would write this off as a one-off. They refused and all they could offer me was 20% off my next clean which is what I already had from an email promotion. Therefore, I have asked for a refund and won't be using Mopp again.

Don't be fooled by the replies from the Mopp customer service team on this thread- they really aren't that helpful unless replying on a review site!

Mopp is a great concept but in practice it doesn't work. Seems to be a high turnover of cleaners who for some reason or an other aren't that bothered about working for Mopp.

Unreliable and very frustrating!

I was unhappy with my existing cleaning company so decided to give MOPP a try. I used their very easy website to book my cleaner 12 days in advance and almost immediately, received confirmation from them. Because I was having to leave a key out for the new cleaner, I was a bit concerned about the security side of things - would I have any comeback if I got home from work to find that the house had been cleared out and not cleaned? - so I filled out their online form. 2 days later, I still hadn't received a response so I called MOPP. I spoke to a very helpful man and gave him my booking reference. He confirmed that all of the cleaners are checked and have references but that they wouldn't be allocating a cleaner to me until 24 hours before and they would send the details to me. He suggested that, once I had this information, I call them back and speak to them about me having the cleaners telephone number. I agreed that that sounded fine and waited for my e-mail with the cleaners details. I then received an e-mail response reassuring me that, in the unlikely even that anything was to go missing, they have full contact details of all cleaners. To my horror, I then received an e-mail I received 24 hours before the cleaner was due, was entitled "Booking Error" and went on to tell me that their new website had accepted postcodes in areas that they don't yet cover so they couldn't provide a cleaner for the next day! I replied to their e-mail with my feedback but haven't yet had a response. My main question is, why on earth was this not checked when I called or when they replied to my e-mail? I have already cancelled my previous cleaning company and, working full time, I don't always have time to do it myself. I have visitors arriving tomorrow night and am so cross that I am now going to have to spend tonight cleaning when I'd give MOPP 12 days notice to arrange a cleaner. I would recommend that you don't bother with MOPP as they are unreliable and so very frustrating. I'm only giving them 1 star on this site because you cannot post a review with no stars!

Failed twice to provide the services in Bristol

I booked MOPP twice to do a 3hr clean in my house in Bristol and both times they cancelled, one of this times they cancelled less than 24 hr before the cleaning was booked for. They might be good in London, but it doesn't look like they can meet the demand in Bristol. However, they did apologise, refunded money and offered a free clean which I didn't risk to book again.

Big waste of time

Over the last few months I have had multiple breakages , cleaners showing up when no booking made confirmed phone bookings not being logged on system so I wasted a whole morning waiting for a cleaner that they forgot to book .
I was promised a phone call from a manager which I never got, which just shows how much they really care.
Today my confirmed appointment never bothered to show up , and they had no idea why.
Rubbish customer service. If you've got time to waste and are happy to constantly chase the company then go for it .

Disappointing

Not only were the cleaners late on every single occasion (I am not exaggerating) but one the last occasion they were booked they failed to turn up at all. I called the office only to receive a message to call back inside opening hours (which it was) and proceeded to send an email. In an email I asked them to get in contact with me as I wished to discuss my displeasure...I'm still waiting on that call, all I received was an email which amounted to almost an explanation but certainly not an apology. Last week I then got a call to say my cleaner was running late and would be in the area shortly - I had not booked a cleaner and had not received any notification from the company that they were sending one. Needless to say I was very frustrated. I will not be using the services again and would not recommend them unless you are endlessly patient.

Straightforward efficient booking and great cleaners

Definitely recommend - website really easy to use and quick to book a clean, doesn't have to be a regular booking and they can often even do last minute bookings - I had a couple of booking blips but the office were very helpful and apologetic. Most importantly the Cleaners are great and very thorough!

Badly run company

I cannot recommend Mopp at all. Yes your site is set up to make it easy to get a cleaner but your service is bad. First booking i made the cleaner was an hour late which is not convenient when your left waiting around to let them in, but these things happen. What was bad was that when i called to find out where the cleaner was and what was going on your phones were still set on answer machine saying you would be open again at 7am but it was after 9am. Eventually 30 mins later i got through and was given the cleaners message about running late. The cleaner was lovely but my home wasn't quite cleaned to my standards. You asked me to give your company another chance so i made a 2nd booking. I got a call at 4pm yesterday (my cleaner was due at 8am this morning) to say you didn't have a cleaner for my time slot. i explained i could only do fri am as an alternative as i need to be in work during the day and i get a call to say this wasn't possible either. what truly amazed and disappointed me (this is aside form my annoyance as the cleaner was booked because i had no time to clean my home before visitors came) is that your website states that it would be charge £20 if i cancelled less than 24hr in advance yet when i asked what compensation i would get for the short notice i was told an apology was all that was on offer. I explained that i was left with no choice but to not use your service again and to give a negative review and your staff didn't care. Shocking service!!

Brilliant!

Mopp are just brilliant. The cleaners turn up on time and work extremely hard for the full time they are booked for. The cleaning is to a very high standard and the house was gleaming by the end of the time allocated. We will be using Mopp for the long term future. Brilliant!

I wouldn't swap Mopp

We booked Mopp for a one-off clean of our large 2-bed flat. Our cleaner was punctual and thorough and did all the jobs I asked. She also smiled and was easy to give instructions to - not always the case in London.

Can't get any service -

I had almost decided to use Mopp for my new regular weekly cleans however when I tried to use the livechat feature to make basic enquiries (insurance, public liability etc) there never seems to be any response over 3 days. Similarly I tried to use the 'feedback' page on their website, a broken link. Very concerning that the basics aren't in place at this stage and a major worry as to how easy it would be to contact them in the event of a serious problem.

Reliable and customer friendly company!

I have recently signed up with Mopp and have been very impressed at how easy it was to use their service. The times that I have spoken to them on the phone, I have always felt that the staff are friendly and genuinely care about your experience with their company, which makes a refreshing change from other companies! I am happy with the cleaner they provided and hope to continue using her regularly. An excellent experience so far - thanks Mopp!
