Customer Service Disgusting and Useless
Purchase cancelled by trader/seller months ago but no refund issued, contacted Monzo and there not interested and doing nothing - reported to the Fionancial Ombudsman Service

I opened a Monzo bank in 2023, used it for cash in ATMs abroad, no problems.
In the UK this March/April (2026), didn't bother with WiFi, just used free WiFi in pubs, cafes, etc. I'm on the Northern Rail train using it, and my phone beeps. Look at the message from Monzo saying (paraphrasing here): "We've just stopped a fraudulent purchase on your card, we've cancelled this card, a new one is being generated for you, you can still use the Monzo app for cardless purchases. Please go to the app now and follow the instructions. Thanks for using Monzo."
I was pleasantly gobbsmacked. I've never had a bank proactively protect me from fraud; they always wait until you notice it, ask for a refund, then start to act.
This was awesome. I went to the app, told them where to send my new card, carried on with my holiday.
I tell everyone who asks about banking about this. Can't recommend Monzo highly enough.

I got a Monzo card to use abroad
I got a Monzo card to use abroad and definitely recommend taking one out. Your account is easy to set up, received my card within 2 working days and can transfer money onto the card straight away and top ups easy to do as well. No fees are applied when using your card abroad, check your transactions on line.
