I really like moneydashboard
I really like moneydashboard - to my knowledge the only service in Britain that can pool all your bank accounts in one place and track their performance. I have been using it for around 5 years and it is great. I even think they should start charging a bit of money, given my next few points below.
Recently there have been a lot of upgrades and new features, such as the amazing budget planner which i just discovered and find incredibly useful. They also refined the tagging feature so you can create your own tags, and batch apply to many transaction. What you cannot yet do is write your own matching regex to find transactions and tag - but i understand this is probably a hassle to expose.
However, despite all the great features, the underlying core functionality frequently breaks. This can be duplicate transactions or login problems because the bank updated their webpage so Yodlee cannot access it anymore - which is obviously the banks fault.
Opening support tickets works, and they are helpful, but sometimes nothing happens for weeks. I gather this is because they are not making money, given it is a free service, so entirely reliant on venture capital.
Thus maybe charging a few pounds a month would fix many of these issues...
Simple, easy, effective
Simple, easy, effective
It does exactly what it says on the tin. It aggregates your accounts, allows past transactions to be tagged into various groupings and has budgeting and planning functions.
If I were able to improve it, I would enable users to regroup the tags, and maybe enable partnering between users to facilitate couple budgeting when each of the couple very much has control over their own spending but would like to see how much they spend overall on certain things (e.g. groceries, restaurants, etc)... I might also enable users to ZBB, but this is possible with a little mental mat, and also just a nice to have. :-)
Love this app!
Love this app! Not only I have got access to all my bank account I have got to categorise my spending and understand where I'm overspending. The budget feature is really cool, though would like to be able to create yearly and one-off budgets! Well done guys, keep up the good work!
Money Dashboard A+
Brilliant with great insight into all your accounts which makes things so much easier when it comes to budgeting.
Terrible customer support, their mistakes have caused lots of problems
I've been using money dashboard for years, recently there was a problem with Yodlee since Barclays updated their online banking. I have a lot of accounts setup with money dashboard and use the service daily. Since my feed stopped working their support team got involved and have really messed up my account. I now have duplicate accounts setup, weeks of missing data, still can't access my original accounts and every time I try and get some kind of a response from them they make more mistakes and the situation worsens. I've asked twice to escalate the ticket but I've been told there's no procedure for this and I always get the same case handler. Aside from the mistakes, I think there is also a language barrier and the focus seems to be on finding a reason why it's "not their problem" rather than helping fix the issue. Someone, please get in touch I'd love to be able to use my account again.
OK-ish.
OK-ish. I have accounts which have been closed but I am told that I cannot delete them. Support say they must do this!

I use this every day and will continue to!
Always impressed with the constant updates and improvements! I especially love the planned, which is easy to edit, easy to manage and extremely useful. Having an understanding of my bank balance for the rest of the month is amazing. It is also in an easy to view manor.
I like the abillity to tag your transactions, so that you can see exactly where your money goes, across all of my payment types. It even helps me track my work expenses too!
Keep up the good work.
With all its latest improvements it's …
With all its latest improvements it's now mature, slick and very easy to use. The categorisation process has massively improved even if there were some teething problems for existing users during the pre-summer upgrade. Point it in the right direction one-time on categorisation for regular-spend transactions with retailers, pubs, restaurants, salary items, all monthly items, etc and it takes care of itself. So little effort needed for the remaining transactions and you get all the benefit of the reports, graphs and budgeting capability. Given the security methods and the specialist company managing the security side, it's just as secure as it would be with an app from your own bank, so if you want a one-stop, real time view of multiple accounts' transactions and want to take better control of your finances I can't think of any better way to do this, same goes even if you only have 1 account. I used to use the old Quicken PC Package way back, which of course had no automated feed from banks and a lot less functionality in general. This is just night and day in terms of automation and ease of use, plus I don't have to worry about backing up my own data nor the lack of security of all the transaction data being stored on my PC. The fact that I can get all the sync'd functionality on my mobile phone whenever I'm on the road is priceless too. I might be a bit sad saying this, but I love it.

Used to be really good.. Now it's next to useless!
I've used Money Dashboard for a long time; years I think. It was great up until the major version change in early 2017 when they made lots of so-called "improvements". I use it to keep track of my domestic finances involving around a dozen accounts. Before the version change I could rely on it to be accurate; apart from the odd glitch here and there it was a good reliable service, if a little limited in places. Considering that it was(is) free it was fantastic and worthy of recommendation.
Then came the big 'upgrade', and it all went south... big style!! At the time of this review (July 2017) the service is basically broken... and has been for several months.
Since the major version change my biggest problems have been with account updating/syncing and balance trends/history. Sometimes accounts update, sometimes they don't. Accuracy of data seems to change from day to day. My balance trend/history traces are all over the place and completely unreliable. Even when accounts have updated and transactions have been downloaded, those transactions seem to randomly appear and disappear from the balance history. I get lots of duplicate transactions, and account updating/syncing is flaky and unreliable.
The result is that I cannot trust the service anymore. I frequently log-in or use the app to check accounts, but I invariable end up referring to individual banking sites or apps because I just can't trust Money Dashboard anymore.
I have of course submitted support tickets and I must say I have been happy with the speed of response. I am also happy to say that the replies I get from the support team seem to be relevant to the problem rather than the annoyingly irrelevant, 'generic' responses you get on most support platforms these days! I have been given various solutions, and they have performed 'resets' on some of my accounts... but the bottom line is that the problems persist. I'm sorry to say I've reached that point, like several other reviewers, that I will stop using Money Dashboard because it basically doesn't work. Its a shame because I think it has great potential, and I would happily pay a reasonable subscription if the service actually worked!

I used to love the application
I used to love the application! However since March my main bank account stopped syncing, making it pretty useless for managing my personal finances. I raised a support ticket back in April. They acknowledged saying they'd passed on to Yodlee. One month later I finally got a response basically saying they could see that my problem had now been resolved ... it hadn't!! After I responded saying it hadn't been resolved and several chasing messages asking for an update, absolutely nothing. For almost 2 months I've been totally ignored, and they've not even had the decency to acknowledge my mail.
In my opinion an appalling level of customer service/support; three months since I raised a ticket and no solution.
It's such a shame I would have paid for a subscription for my money dashboard account. However, after this experience no chance. I'm now looking for alternative personal finance management solution.
Buggy software - especially around downloads
Quite buggy, just uploaded my most recent transactions and ended up with about 6 entries for each actual transaction, going way back. This makes it completely useles, as it's too many to change manually.
It's a shame as I have invested a lot of time setting this up, and liked many of the features but this really is the final straw
Bugs bugs bugs
It's a nice interface with some useful charts. Generally a good idea. However I just can't trust the data that I'm looking at.
I've had numerous problems with the Balance Trends chart. IMO the most useful chart on the web dashboard. But the chart data is simply wrong. It's always missing data from 1 or many of my accounts meaning the sum of all credit/debit accounts is wrong.
Support do respond to my emails but they just can't seem to fix or even reproduce the problem. I have to send them screenshots of my personal bank data so they can see the problem. Only for them to tell me to sync the accounts again and send new screenshots when it doesn't fix the problem.
I expect so much more from a tool that I entrust my bank credentials with. If they can't get a graph looking right how bad might their security be? A great shame

A spanner in the works
Hands up, I'm not a techie & have no idea of the complexities involved in this product nor do I have any idea as to how many there are in the Money Dashboard Team.
That said, I liked this app. - before the much vaunted 'improvements' stuck a spanner in the works...
Specifically, ongoing issues with Santander & the Transactions screen (basically forget trying to update/view 'em) - acknowledged by Support but no change over the last couple of weeks; very irritating now that its integrated into my money management.
Oddly, it's not much consolation that, as yet, the service is free.
The thought of trawling for an alternative leaves me cold but... gotta ask, would I want to pay for it given the diminishing service/support?
A huge fan lost!!
First of all, I have to say that I used to be a huge fan of this app, I managed all my bank transactions using this app and once in a while you could see that their team was working hard to improve the dashboard and adding new features, however, since the last update to v6 I haven't been able to sync my account as you can see in all comments below I guess there are a lot of people out there having this same issue. I understand that sometimes things are not developing as they were expected in the first place but seriously guys, to be waiting for more than a month it's just ridiculous, and the worst part is having to write to the support team every week and receiving their replies only when they feel like it and feeling completely ignored. I can't express how disappointed I am with MD.
Edited: This problem continued for one month but later they managed to solve it, overall the app it's now really good.

This app is great, download your bank transactions, sort into categories, and you can keep a handle on your finances.

I must agree with the two commentators …
I must agree with the two commentators below: since the new version 6.0 my MD no longer works with my main bank.
It simply isn't good enough for a commercial firm to fob customers off by blaming another software platform provider or the banks, or whomever, and not to be able to fix the problem within a reasonable time. I have been waiting two weeks already. All of this should have been ironed out in testing before release to live.
Imagine if the banks did that... You see my point.
One other thing is that there is no 24/7 live chat support, nor phone support. Both are essential when offering a service like this. Other software providers do it, why can't MD? It's frustrating having to wait 24 hours for an answer. Maybe one of your VCs could provide some investment for that part of the business.

Worked OK for several months but they've now broken it and can't seem to fix it.
I've been using Money Dashboard for several months now, but since they rolled out the latest version, its been unable to login to my current account. That failure caused my bank login to be locked due to multiple failed attempts. Having reset my bank login password, I tried to update my login details on Money Dashboard but that too failed. I've been in touch with support several times over the past couple of weeks and all they can say is:
"Apologies. I do understand that is frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. I am not happy either, but our data provider Yodlee has not resolved the issue completely, great numbers of users successfully logged in last week, but there a few minor issues that are still under investigation."
So they're blaming somebody else rather than taking responsibility themselves, which I'm afraid is a mark of a very poor company.
I'm not on the lookout for alternative apps as they don't have a clue how long this is going to be broken.

Money Dashboard
I have always been a fan of Money Dashboard but since the launch of V6.0
mine has ceased to function properly. It first of all duplicated one account and stopped updating another. This was fixed but the program will no longer show transactions.
I have been emailing their support since 20th April without a response or acknowledgement so it looks like time to find an alternative.
They have now given me access to a Beta version which solves the problem. Soon to be incorporated on the main site.
