Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the service, particularly regarding the trade-in process. They frequently reported that initial offers for their devices were drastically reduced upon inspection, often citing minor or questionable "signs of wear" even on devices described as pristine. This led to feelings of being "low-balled" and that the valuation process was unfair, with many believing the company aimed to reduce offers significantly. People also found the pricing unfair, as the final offers were considerably lower than expected and often did not reflect the true value or condition of their products. This discrepancy in valuation and the perceived poor customer service left many feeling frustrated and unwilling to use the service again.

Do not get involved with Mondo Affari for a Oneplus trade-in

Avoid Mondo Affari at all costs if you’re planning a OnePlus trade-in.

They lure you in with a decent initial quote, then once they receive your device, suddenly it’s “damaged” — even when it absolutely isn’t. The value drops massively with little to no proper explanation or evidence.

Trying to challenge it? Good luck. Communication is practically non-existent. Emails get ignored, and you’re left with zero transparency throughout the whole process.

Then comes the worst part — if you refuse their revised offer and want your phone back, they charge you to return your own device. So you’re basically forced into accepting a lowball price or paying out of pocket.

It feels completely one-sided and borderline deceptive. I would strongly advise anyone to stay well clear.

As every other bad review states...just don't.

As every other bad review states - this process was part of the OnePlus trade in process. Just don't do it. Sell your phone privately, give it to cex whatever just do not use this. They will always reduce the price of the trade in and hold you over a barrell. I traded in an honor magic 7 pro that had never ever been out of its case in the 7 months of its life - they reduced it by £30. It just feels absolutely pointless to do that but the alternative was to pay £27 to send the phone back to me. The main reason for the bad review though, is just how long the process is. I bought my OnePlus phone in NOVEMBER and got the money for my trade in in FEBRUARY. Absurd. Oneplus - you need to find a different affiliate.

This company are disingenuous. I provided my device as part of the OnePlus trade in. The phone had never been out of a case and had no marks on it. They claim there are 'signs of use'. When asked for where they just refer to some pictures. Even though they took show no signs of use. It's incredibly unclear.
On the basis of their assessment they reduce their offer price. The only option you have then is to pay EUR27 to have the device returned.

They have consumers trapped. They are conducting unfair business.

Keep your phone at home!!

I recently tried using the trade-in service partnered with OnePlus, and I was extremely disappointed. They completely devalued my device for a minor scratch, refusing to honor the agreed trade-in value. The process felt unfair and inflexible, and in the end, I didn’t receive a single cent of what I was promised.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to keep their device instead of sending it in. The risk of losing your device’s value over something minor just isn’t worth it.

⭐ One star

Mondo Affari incompetence cost me a £900 phone. OnePlus chose them and let it happen.

This entire disaster comes down to Mondo Affari’s failure, and OnePlus’ decision to outsource their trade-in programme to a completely unaccountable company.

I am a loyal OnePlus customer. I bought a brand-new OnePlus 15, then traded in my 10-month-old, immaculate OnePlus 13 (512GB) worth around £900. I also own a OnePlus tablet and watch. I followed the trade-in process exactly as instructed.

The trade-in was handled by Mondo Affari, who provided the FedEx shipping label.

The phone was lost in transit. FedEx formally confirmed this.

Here is where Mondo Affari’s incompetence becomes unforgivable:

• Mondo Affari DOES NOT pay for shipping insurance
• Because of this, FedEx says the maximum compensation is £4
• Mondo Affari then claims they are not responsible because FedEx lost the package

So Mondo Affari arranged uninsured shipping for a £900 device, lost it, and now refuses responsibility.

The result?
My phone is gone.
I have no reimbursement.
I am being offered £4.

Meanwhile OnePlus hides behind Mondo Affari instead of protecting the customer. They chose this partner. They benefit from the trade-in programme. Yet when it collapses, they abandon the customer completely.

Weeks of emails, fake escalations, and finger-pointing achieved nothing. No accountability. No ownership. No resolution.

This is a reckless trade-in operation run by Mondo Affari, enabled by OnePlus. If you value your device or your money, do not use this trade-in programme.

I have lost a £900 phone and will never buy another OnePlus device again.

Absolutely disgraceful.

Scammers!

I've traded in my Samsung S24 with OnePlus for a new OP15. I wish I checked the reviews of the company responsible for the trade ins. My phone looks like new, there was no damage at all. Yet they grade it level C, without any evidence or reason. Then they dare to ask 27€ to send your device back. This is a corrupt company who do nothing but fraud and scam innocent people!

Scammers liars and thieves

Valued my immaculate phone at less than half the value with no valid explanation nor proof - at worst several specs of dust on the photos they provided

Then want extornate amount to post back (or you can go to Italy and collect) .....

Point blank refuse to enter into any meaningful dialogue

Got OnePlus involved and came to a resolution I was (begrudgingly) accepting of

Now these thieves are refusing to pay ANYTHING or allow the return of the phone citing a contract clause that doesn't actually say what they say it does !!

Point blank refuse to advise of any escalation process or governing body to complain to

Point blank refuse to enter into any resolution

Point blank refuse to acknowledge any iota of customer service

Point blank refuse to acknowledge agreement with OnePlus

They are recovering old phone/tablets for trade in program and they refuse to pay the trade in fee while asking for 27euros to return your device.
The device is in excellent condition, like new condition, but they graded it C and offered less 50% of original price because it lacked SPen (which was not mentioned in the email for trade-in). I offered to sent it in addition which they didn't accept. Really disappointed with them and OnePlus Who is using their service.

Do not send your device for trade in

I really wish I had read all the reviews here before trading in my Samsung S7 tablet. As others have alluded to, the company is awful and your device will be graded as grade C so they can offer you the lowest possible amount.

The company has a policy of low balling anyone who trades in a device regardless of condition, sight that the device show signs of wear. When I say signs of wear they mean even the slightest hint it has been used.

Oneplus should be ashamed of using such an awful and unscrupulous company, after such a bad experience I now actually want to return the Oneplus Pad 3 I bought.

How companies are able to operate like this beggars believe, it is an absolute disgrace and they’re scamming customers out of the real value of their devices. Avoid them at all costs

If I could leave 0 stars I would

If I could leave 0 stars I would.

My experience with this company has been appalling. They have been hostile at every communication, continually dodged my simple questions and acted in complete contradiction to their quoted ISO 9001 certification.

The device rating system, and value quotations, that they present prior to sending the device is much more generous than the actual offers that they pay out, and I expect that most people end up just accepting the final offer due to the extortionate cost of having the device sent back to you.

I would highly recommend ignoring any trade in offers that they present, and sell a device to a well known local company.
