Scam Garbage Product with fishy legals

I purchased a repeater and antenna from this mob thinking it would solve my rural mobile phone problems. Initially the product worked as advertised on the box after some configuring to make sure it wasn't flooding itself with its own signal in a feedback loop.

However every time it gets powered down for any reason, all the settings reset and the signal maxes out in a feedback loop

after discussing this with "Troy" who is obviously a scam artist selling garbage out of his garage, he told me that the feedback loop would eventually destroy the unit and I shouldn't do that.

From there I found the unit had no save function at all. In short, "Troy" sold me a product that would destroy itself eventually.

When asked for a refund troy initially ignored me. After raising the stakes a little with threats of small claims litigation, and a call to fair trading, troy responded that their legal entity was based in the UK and i'd have to go through UK courts to get a refund. Then Troy started ignoring me again.

When repeatedly asked for a physical location where I could serve papers to him for a court appearance, he refused to provide that as well.

After checking their site a few times and wasting Troys time via the messenger functionality on the site, it became clear he was intentionally choosing to ignore the message.

His scam claimed another victim. Do not buy.

If you're reading this troy, i'm not going away and when I find your address I'm going to take you to small claims court, where you will be found guilty of being in breach of ACMA's cease and desist.

I will cause more damage to your scam than just paying the money back to me would have ever done.

WARNING SCAM 100% illegal in Australia DO NOT BUY!! The item is actually shipped from China with FedEx its NOT approved by any Australian mobile carrier. They will not refund! WARNING SCAM.

What an absolute scam the Mobile Repeater Australia are. I wish I had read these reviews sooner and saved myself a heap of cash and terrible customer service.
Bought the repeater along with the antenna. Didnt make a single bar of difference, despite being told it was absolutely going to make a difference. In fact when I called them they even assured me of a money back guarantee (I shouldn't have taken their word for it).
Upon returning the useless items, I was refunded just over $200 less than I paid for everything.

I am pretty sure that the entire business is actually only built on keeping the refunded amounts as their products are garbage!!

Purchased this unit to boost the signal strength of our 4G internet service. We were under the impression that we would receive a full refund if it didn’t make a difference to our Optus signal. Even though the unit was supposed to be sent without postage fees, we were charged an extra almost $12 for postage. The unit didn’t make any difference to our signal, so we returned it. This cost us almost $17. After emailing the company several times, we finally got a refund, but not the full amount. We questioned why we did not receive the full amount and the reply stated that a 20% restocking fee may be charged for returned items. So we are out of pocket around $100. We do not consider this a money back guarantee. Be careful if you purchase this and it doesn’t work for you - you will be out of pocket!

I bought one of these and based on the information provided on the website, thought this was a perfectly legal device to operate. A couple of months later, I had a telstra representative knock on my door to say that the device is interfering with emergency services communication in the area and that if I don't turn it off, I will face $270,00 fine.

"On 16 April 2015 NSW Fair Trading served a cease and desist order on the largest internet supplier of repeaters, Mobile Repeaters Australia (MRA). ‘Traders like MRA are keeping consumers in the dark and misinformed about the necessary licensing requirements for using mobile repeater devices,’ said NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe."

I contacted MRA and they refuse to offer any sort of compensation for selling me a device that I can't use, that's close to $500 down the drain.

DO NOT Buy from these people. This company is operating in Australia Illegally and you have no recourse when Telstra knock on your door.

This company is selling completely illegal mobile phone repeaters into Australia. Within 2-3 months Telstra will knock on your door and tell you to turn off otherwise 10 years jail or $100 000 fine. The only legal repeater to use in Australia is the Cel Fi . This guy is not in NSW. The AFP and ACMA will lock this guy up for 20 years for the damage he is doing to the Australian GSM network. The legal repeater is equivalent to 20 phones. The illegal ones they are sending from the UK is equivalent to 200 phones. It floods the towers and people are unable to make calls.
