Disgusting service, disgusting support, horrible company

Something needs to be done about Movistar. They are breaking many laws. Advertising "up to" 10 megs on a 20 meg line and constantly getting below 2 megs. Call for help, they send a technician and magically when the technician arrives we are getting 18 megs. Movistar then charge us €75 for the technician visit, he leaves, our internet goes back to under 2 meg. All this for €50 a month solely for internet! This is happening in the Canary Islands because Movistar have the monopoly and can ignore customer requests for 3G, can advertise a service they do not provide and can simply hang up on the phone having waited 45 minutes to be put through to an English speaking operator. Disgusting service.

Movistar = The worst company on the planet!!!

Movistar should translate into absolute joke.

These bunch are no better than thieves.
We have the Fusion package all was ok, then at the beginning of June they cut our service. We called the so called customer service( that alone is a joke, rudest, ingnorant people ever). They say we owe 30€ from an old Movistar Mobile bill. We never had Movistar anywhere else. Never had a bill and they refuse still to produce it. However we paid 60€ and said this is for June. They then lost the payment. Found it again reconnected us for 5 days and then cut us again saying we owe June payment ( as they used some of he 60€ for that bogus Mobile bill). We paid another 60€ and reconnected. Total of 3 weeks so far without service at this point. Then this Tuesday they cut us again saying the have received no payments at all. They ask for proof by email. We send this . They accept this. Now say we owe July ( not had bill or any service for July.). Told us to stop calling he customer services and have told us until we pay July they won’t connect us and also say we still owe that Mobile bill too......Still no service and no sign of any in the future. LIVING A NIGHTMARE HERE!!!

Update: they now are back to saying we have only paid one payment...GGRRR

USE A VODAFONE SIM!!

USE A VODAFONE SIM!!
SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY!!
My one star is not only for this store, but costumer service at 3 stores and movistar as a cell provider in general.
I came from the U.S. and got a 2 gig SIM card from them for 18 euro.
It worked for one day.
I went back to the store. And a "guru" got it working again, and the next day ..... it didn't work again.
Back to the store!
No guru working that Saturday, the service rep played with my phone for a while. Said she didn't know what was wrong, but my phone should work in an hour.
It didn't!
It was late Saturday, and everyplace is closed Sunday, I needed maps ... so ....
Across the street to Vodafone.
1.5 gig SIM for 10 euros!
Services rep was great, went the extra kilometer. The chip worked great till the data ran out ...... at 1.5 gig!
Put the old moviestar SIM back in my phone and, as expected, it didn't work.
Went to movistar store .... again .... see what's happening here?!
Service rep messed with it, got it working.
Next day it stopped!
Now I'm near Movistar Center!
lo it's back to the store AGAIN!!!
They tell me I used all the data?
The data usage on my phone said I used .26 gig, but they didn't seem to care, I told them to check my phone and all the apps, and tell me how I used 2 gig in 3 days looking at Google maps.
Literally it only worked for 3 days?
And now it just stopped working again?
The rep said it worked b/c yesterday I bought 2 euro worth or 200 mg of data?
But I didn't!
The service rep gave me free data?
Why?
Cause they didn't know what was wrong with their service, they couldn't fix it and they wanted me out of their store!
Save yourself time, trouble and money.
Just get a Vodafone SIM
So having 3 more days in Spain, and no way I'm giving movistar another euro, I went down 1 block from the "Movistar Center" to Vodafone and I bought another 1.5 gig SIM for 10 euro.
It works great!
The service rep went through a few numbers and found me one that's great and I will keep for life!
And it will work in the U.S. too.
So suck it movistar

An absolute disgraceful customer service

An absolute disgraceful customer service.Having explained that i might be a bit late paying as i was waiting for salary and could i pay some of the bill but not all.I got a simple no we will cut you of until you pay the full invoice i was absolutely gobsmacked and a company i have been with 11 years.I don tthink the staff are trained correctly because they simply do not know how to deal with customers.I think they would rather lose a customer rather than try and help its the typical Spanish customer service treatment..Customer service have no HR skills not sympathetic and simply do not understand clients needs.I worked in customer service and i would do everything i could to help a client resolve an issue with movistar this simply does not happen.

Moi Mal Fatal - Very Bad awful service

Moi Mal! Very Bad service.
Internet is slow and drops out every couple of mins, mobile has such poor reception I don’t bother using it and phone line is crackly which is not something I have heard since the 80s.
Have been waiting for nearly a year now for them to check and set up everything through the satellite dish we have. Every time they ring you and you speak they hang up!
Ringing them is a joke, wait to get an answer and if they don’t hang up on you, they put you through to someone else who does.
Why are we still with them paying over 70euros a month? Because there’s no one else to go to where we live among tall trees and we don’t even have a contract. Great thanks Movistar!!

No service for a week

No service for a week. I work from home and I cannot work without the internet. Calling every day. Nobody cares. Inefficient and extremely rude customer service. I'm using data sims from other companies so I can do my work. It's costing me lots of money. Surely Movistar should be accountable for the money they make me and other customers lose. But like everything in this country, who the hell knows the rules and who to turn to? I have lived in developing countries, and Spain is worse than any in terms of service delivery and customer service. By far. Movistar is a joke of a company. I've never been entirely satisfied with their services. I signed up with them because they were apparently the only ones who could install the fiber optic where I live. Truth is, I never got fiber optic quality and experienced many problems in the past couple of years. Now it's the cherry on the cake. A whole week with no internet, house phone, and TV. On the phone with them every day but they're just either rude or ignorant. If not both. No wonder this country is doing so badly. Stay away from Movistar. And if you're a digital worker from a country where things work, rules are followed, customer service is efficient, I would suggest to stay away from Spain and work somewhere else altogether. I'm done with this place. The nice summers can't make up for the terrible service you get everywhere. It's not that cheap to live here in the end and you get nothing for all the money you spend.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. We signed up for a package that included cable TV and two phone lines. We were renovating the house and did not have electricity the day Movistar called to set up the cable tv. We told them we would do it later. Next thing we get a bill that is double the agreed upon monthly amount. We called and they said because we did not install cable tv, they switched us to another, more expensive package without informing us. Thoroughly disgusted, we decided to switch to Orange. Movistar then claimed the new package included a contract, even though the original one did not, and that we had to pay 170 euros to switch. A complete and total scam. We did not agree to the new contract and in fact were never even informed about it. We spoke to five different customer service representatives, all of whom gave us different information and were powerless to actually resolve anything.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid at all costs.

PS. the mobile service was terrible too, with very poor signal strength.

Vodafone or Movistar

I was a customer with Movistar for two years, had the full TV on demand and internet package with three mobiles and a land line, spent an average of 240 € every month until one day I looked at one of the invoices and saw I had been charged for roaming in MOROCCO!!!

Not a problem, call them up and tell them they've made a mistake, only to be told I was the one that had made the mistake and to pay up or be taken to court and put on a black list.

So I cancelled all my contracts and paid every penny except the 31.80 € roaming in morroco, out of principle. Made an official complaint with them but to no avail. Now I have a company called Medina Cuadros y asociados acting on their behalf, sending threatening letters and cold calling my wife, claiming to be lawyers and shouting at her. Yes literally shouting down the phone at a woman, threatening her with court action. Cowards.

I now have the full package with Vodafone, three mobile lines, a land line, internet and full TV package. Last month my bill was just under 150 €. I even have roaming with data throughout Gibraltar free of charge, something Movistar never had.

Be careful with Movistar. Prior to them I was with ONO for seven years and was happy as a pig in muck. Check out the internet, there is nothing but bad reviews, I seriously don't know how they are still in business.

Bad services!

¡No contrate a movistar!

Very bad services ! I do not recommend movistar at all. More than 2 weeks to realise that they can't install the fibre in the building and the engineer doesn't even bother to update his department. No communication at all between them and i had to chase several times myself. Go to competitors who care! Don't contract with movistar!

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS IN SPAIN

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS IN SPAIN. BEWARE!!! I just moved from France and registered with Movistar. Unfortunately I did have some phone calls to France due to my recent move here. Movistar asked me to pay 458€ via TEXT messaging to which sadly I panicked as they threatened to cut my phone which I needed urgently for my business. When I asked for PAPER DOCUMENTATION they DENIED ME THE RIGHT. No invoice. Nothing. Just pay. And foolishly and stupidly - I paid. There was not even a receipt from them to show that they had received the payment. So when asked at the Movistar counter to look up at my account records of payments made - nothing showed up. All I was able to show was the text message from Movistar. The counter person said I had to file a formal complaint. When I did they responded that with only a Text message from Movistar (themselves) they could do nothing. Case closed.

Rude and unhelpful staff

Rude and unhelpful staff. Noticed the mobile phone bill (shared with my wife) was over. Contacted them and was told they had not setup our account properly (we should have shared data across both phones), they went on to say that they had sent me txt messages telling me i had gone over my data. They had NOT. They had sent a txt saying i was getting close to my data limit. Apparently this exonerates them and i have no choice but pay or get cut off.
