We had a wonderful trip to Tamil Nadu and the Andaman Islands thanks to Millis Potter and their local partners in India. We learned so much fascinating detail about history and Hinduism, starting in Chennai. St George's Fort, the enormous urban beach, St Thomas's Church with its ancient roots, and the museum bronzes were all well worth visiting. We loved the historic grace of the Connemara hotel with its lovely staff and fabulous food.

Chettinad was somewhere I'd never heard of but that area with its many merchant mansions and traditional crafts, and the beautiful art deco Visalam hotel, were real highlights. A special shout out for Kavida the local guide who taught herself English from Peppa Pig and Netflix and is so bright and lively and eager to learn. As well as the sites of interest, she took us to a couple of her favourite spots in Karaikudi.

Deepsheet and Vijay in Madurai were also outstanding. Deepsheet was a brilliant storyteller and introduced us to spiced cottonseed milk. While Vijay guided us expertly round the stunning temple.

In Pondicherry, Maison Perulam was a good stay with great food and we joined staff and other guests for the India Republic Day flag hoisting on the terrace, proudly wearing our tricolor badges.

The Mahalabaripuram site sculptures took our breath away. Amazing place. The shore temple setting is magnificent.

After all the sight seeing, Swaraj Dweep was a real contrast and we enjoyed the environment, glorious sunsets on the pristine beach, snorkelling and guided walks with the Barefoot Resort naturalist. We even saw a cobra, at a safe distance.

At every stage Pioneer Travel did a great job of looking after us, checking in on us via Whatsapp regularly. Our excellent driver for most of the tour, Ramesh, was delightful. We felt very safe with him.

In short we loved out tailor made Tamil Nadu & Andaman holiday.

Millis Potter delivered as promised, and frequently over and above.
Accommodation, transport and Guides were outstanding.
Everything was done seamlessly and we were always kept fully informed about the day's activities.

Our trip to India, planned by Millis Potter, was fabulous! Marcus listened to what we wanted and planned everything to perfection. We saw and did everything and more than we asked for. At the same time, our days were not so filled that we felt at all rushed. We truly enjoyed every minute. The best part of the trip was the Millis Potter team in India. Our guides and driver were kind, thoughtful, considerate, informative, helpful - they met our every need and made us feel comfortable and safe. They really did "hold our hands" throughout the trip. I highly recommend Millis Potter for anyone traveling to India!

We had a wonderful holiday - the whole experience is organised from start to finish which means you don't need to worry about bookings, transport, hotels etc which means all you need to do is enjoy the experience. Using a company that knows the location means that you can visit places you haven't even heard of or realised their importance to the country you're visiting. Marcus is a great agent who listens to what you want to do and engages the best people in the location

My wife and I wanted to go on an extended "off the beaten track" holiday through India, Oman and Sri Lanka. Even though we live in Australia, we found the Millis Potter UK website and were attracted to the sample itineraries that Marcus had put together.

Despite the tyranny of distance and several late changes that we had to make (at our end) the itinerary that Marcus put together was amazing and the trip itself was a once in a lifetime experience. Over 6+ weeks, everything went off without a hitch, and we were staying in some pretty remote areas eg a 6hr train trip into northern India followed by a 2hr car transfer into the mountains, followed by a 1hr hike to the accommodation with our luggage being transferred on horseback!

If you want something different to the normal "cookie cutter" trips that seem to all too prevalent these days then I thoroughly recommend you get in touch with Millis Potter. We will certainly be using them again.

I was struggling to plan a three week family adventure independently so I contacted Millis Potter Travel who did a fantastic job of organising a last minute tour of South India over Christmas and New Year. All the accommodation we stayed in was a treat and everywhere entertained our children and nothing in any accommodation was too much trouble. The quality of the tours organised were sublime and will leave everlasting memories for all of us. The Millis Potter support on the ground during our trip was attentive but not invasive with regular contact from Adrian. Millis Potter Travel organised a very special Family trip to India which is not an easy task when traveling with a 8 and 6 year old. It was non stop with so much to see... backwaters, festivals at temples, spice farms and tea plantations and so much colour. So many memories made so easily and wouldn't have been a success without the organisation and support of Millis Potter travel. We will be back for More.

Incredibly well organised trip and every step of the way was considered and catered for.
Local guides were first class and a cut above guides available to general public.
Drivers kept changing for local reasons which was only aspect of the trip that could have been better.
Would Definitely book again with these guys

Trip to Jordan Nov 24. From the moment the plane landed to our departure we were looked after by the same driver who took us all over Jordan. Felt safe, and in hands of someone with good local knowledge. it really made a difference and having guides lined up for certain key visits allowed us to really enjoy the experience.

Excellently curated & organised holiday. We described what we were hoping for, and Millis Potter came back with recommendations that really hit the spot. They clearly know the island very well & we had a wonderful time. The guide & driver they picked was excellent, going out of his way to pick up on little things that he noticed us being interested in. We’d happily use Millis Potter for other destinations.

The holiday was expertly co-ordinated the entire way - starting from a representative meeting us right off the plane, a range to thoughtfully selected hotels that were great for families, an excellent driver who was fab with kids and made the experience seamless, brilliant local guides and of course excellent recommendations for an action packed week that was suited for a young family (kids aged 6 and 9 yrs). Marcus from Millis Porter was excellent in arranging a personalised itinerary around what we wanted to see and do as a family. The ease of having everything organised and arranged (meaning no queuing, no getting lost etc) meant we packed in a lot into our trip and still had time to relax and explore!
Marcus was also super quick to respond before/during and after our trip - sharing great information about what to take, expect and tips and hints while there. We loved it!

The whole experience was wonderful. Marcus was very attentive and efficient, and created a bespoke holiday package to Jordan that included everything whilst remaining within our budget. When we arrived in Jordan it was so well organised that we didn’t need to lift a finger.

Walking tour of Jordan really lived up to our expectations. We had cancelled in January because of the arrival Covid testing but, when Jordan dispensed with that in March, Marcus managed to rebook it all so we could go on the 11th! The itinerary was perfect as we saw all the usual sights of Amman, Jerash and Petra but had time to explore in more depth and visit quieter destinations such as the Dana nature reserve. It was also great to achieve the goal of reaching the top of the highest mountain in Jordan and the lowest place on earth within a day!
Having a private driver meant there was also some flexibility at the time to modify the timings in the itinerary. Our driver was with us the whole trip and coordinated everything with the accommodation and guides. All were excellent and their advice enhanced our overall experience.

My husband and I just came back from our trip to Jordan.
I must say that it was a fabulous trip from the beginning to end. The customer service were excellent and we were looked after very well from the moment we landed at the airport until we left Jordan.
Our hotel (Movenpick) in Petra was impressive and the buffets at the Hilton Hotel at Dead Sea were superb. Hilton hotel is situated in a wonderful setting overlooking the Dead Sea, and the swim at the Dead Sea was a magical experience too!
The ancient Roman remains at city of Jerash is a must see, awesome and fascinating history.
Trip to Mt Nebu and seeing the amazing mosaics is an eye opener.
Petra is breathtakingly beautiful and camping in the desert at Wadi Rum is something not to be missed! I just wished our stay was longer.
Credit also to our driver Daher, who is a safe and very good driver, he had extensive knowledge of the entire place, and he looked after us very well.
Thanks to Marcus at Millis Potter for arranging a wonderful itinerary, we really had a fantastic time.
Our whole entire trip was an experience to be cherished!
I would consider going back again one day.

Had an amazing trip to Jordan organised by Marcus. We were really blown away by the service - especially as it was quite a last minute request. The organisation was amazing and the team that was there on the ground to support us at every stage was incredible. Felt very well cared for. Fantastic trip in all - really recommend Millis Potter and hope to use them again in the future.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Oman which Marcus arranged for us & he was very prompt in answering all of our many questions during planning, we would not hesitate to recommend his company
