Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service. I received an email about "billing verification" for an order, months after I was already billed for the items. They claim the billing address was flagged as incorrect and threaten to cancel the order in one week if I don't re-verify it. If they are unable to process an order they already charged me for several months ago, I have requested they proceed with cancelling the order and issuing a full refund immediately. Highly dissatisfied with this process.

It was a very average shopping…

It was a very average shopping experience in my opinion. The shipping speed was a little below average. The packaging was good but the books still had some damage in the corners (comic bags were torn upon arrival and corners of comics were all damaged). Ordered the near mint condition books and I believe they were mint until they started packing them. The comic bags could be better and the back board is flimsy and doesn’t protect much. Good but not great.

Use to be a great company

This company has great preorder prices. Purchased from them for year. Books came in damaged on occasion and I let it slide. The Last 4 orders all had damaged books. I contacted them and they offered a 25% discount on books whose value was now barely anything. To top off the insult they failed to delivery a package which had several hot books. They gave me a time frame to get the books re-sent. I replied within the range they gave me and they said it was too late. I asked if I could atleast buy back the books I ordered and they basically said no unless they were listed on the website. Which the hot books were not and all the other books were for a significantly higher price. Booo!!!

They ship damaged comics as new and do not seem to care

I ordered a Deadpool/Batman #1 variant along with a bunch of other new comics. The Deadpool/Batman comic arrived with damage to 3 corners and the clear bag was bent and ripped. The staff member who bagged and boarded this comic for shipping was super careless. I sent photos of the damages and the person responding said they do not cover damages from the carrier. I explained that the exterior packaging was totally fine and this was clearly just mishandling by their staff. I asked to have it escalated to a manger. They took a long time to respond and finally someone who called themselves a manager (no name provided) emailed and offered 25% off. I really wanted a replacement but they were not willing and so I asked for a full refund on that comic. I still haven't heard back and no 25% discount applied yet. They really don't seem to care about customer service. I won't order from them again but wanted to share this with others so they know what to expect. Thank you.

No Solutions To Problems

The staff is very polite when attempting to help me solve my problem. However, they have been unable to solve the problem. The problem: receiving printed issues via mail. It may be possible to receive issue number one for example, but there may not be another issue for some time. And, it's almost impossible to receive back issues. So, missing an issue is a big deal. There's no way to know the missing part of the story unless, I locate it elsewhere.

Best Online Comic Book Company

They offer really good discounts when you preorder (35% off), they package their books very securely. If they would ensure their books are in right side up and front side facing out and the bag flaps weren't scrunched and wrinkled they would be absolutely perfect. Their website is far above anyone elses, IMHO.

One of the worst

Horrible packing to go with their horrible customer service. A tourist trap LARPing as a comic book shop. Lesson learned, I wont be back.

Do not order any subscriptions

Do not order any subscriptions. They will withhold issues that they determine to be valuable, and sell them individually for an insane markup. The withheld an issue from my subscriptions and essentially said "read the fine print". Just a bunch of losers pretending to run a legit business.

Very shady company with very unscrupulous business practices

They will advertise comics as near mint and then send you damaged lower grade versions. When you complain they will ask for you to pay the shipping to return them and will only give store credit.

Their customer service is terrible.

Very shady company with very unscrupulous business practices. Please avoid.

They chase customers away

Have bought from them for years although their gift certificates are difficult/complicated to redeem. Customer service often inaccurate and some ordered items could suddenly be cancelled. On my last order, they decided to not provide free shipping like they always did before or like they still state on their website and wanted to charge me $50, refusing a refund option. After a month or so of messaging and threatening to report their unethical practice, they sent the books for free shipping (for the last time). Don't know why they alienate perfectly loyal customers.

Packaging thats not fit for purpose

Midtown Comics are committed to shipping valuable comics to International customers in USPS Flat Rate Envelopes without the necessary standard protection of its contents and in the full knowledge that these comics can be damaged in transit as a result.
Myself and others before me, have suffered loss as a result of this inconsiderate and unethical policy.

I ordered and paid a lot of money for…

I ordered and paid a lot of money for international shipping, more than $40. I got the package and each book was damaged!

I paid over $100 for all the books and each of them was graded NM at the time of the purchase, but when I got them they all were Fair to Poor and extremely damaged.

I politely explained the situation to the customer services and sent pics of all the damaged books and they basically said they didn't care and didn't want to issue returns or refunds.

I asked my credit card company for a chargeback and contacted my lawyer, since in my state it's illegal to sell without allowing returns on items. I might sue if my lawyer thinks it makes sense.

NEVER BUY FROM THEM!! IF BOOKS ARRIVE DAMAGED, YOU CAN'T EVEN RETURN THEM!
