Total rip off

Total rip off.I have unfortunately been stuck with this "company" for around five years.I used the emergency credit when needed, now all of a sudden it doesn't work, says "credit disconnected" when I try.I was stuck with no electric I have been chasing them for over a month & they said I was using the E/C too much & as the standard charge(70p per day)was less on the E/C I "shouldn't rely" on it.I always paid it back,& what they are doing is illegal.I don't even have a fridge & I'm gone for days on end & it still costs almost 1£ per day.If I dare to use a small lamp or charge my phone, forget it.Vunerable tenants beware, they'll have your eyes out.0 star

Daylight Robbery

I moved into my house on April 15th, and today is April 27th — in just 13 days, I’ve already spent £80 on electricity. For context, I live in a studio apartment, work 40 hours a week, and the only appliance that’s constantly on is the fridge. How is this even possible? I’m definitely taking this up with my housing agency to get this terrible provider changed. This feels like daylight robbery.

Do not ever take a house with meter…

Do not ever take a house with meter pay. I repeat do not ever use meter pay. They are not transparent and rude. I was speaking to one of their customer service, and she hung up on me, when I asked a very simple question. If its okay for a one-bedroom apartment with no heating system at all using a 5-pound per day is fair enough 🙃

Bunch of criminals they are

Zero star if that would have been possible. I used to be with Easy Housing in a hostel. Before we just had a stable amount of service charges we had to pay and that was it but they decided to install them Meterpay meters and it’s very expensive, absolutely rip off and a scammer fraudulent company taking advantage of vulnerable tenants. It’s a disgrace and should be illegal and people should report them including all landlords that are using them exploiting poor people who think it’s ok to pay their massive charges. It won’t show you no breakdown - of your usage…and when you top up your credit mysteriously disappears - no way I’ve used that much. My girlfriend is still with them and runs out of electricity all the time and she’s hardly even at home using anything. She’s also on benefits and is sick with a transplant of kidney, has a hole in her heart and has got TB. Meterpay - and Easy Housing (so called supported housing) just don’t care - they don’t support people at all and wouldn’t even care if you die. Disgusting pigs they are. Sadly nobody cares.

Smart meter only .

Most of these 1* reviews are from people who are not able to set up their own consumer accounts.
Yes you get charged a Daily standing charge fee even if you don’t use any electric - the same as you would with a quarterly bill -
Meterpay do not supply the electric , they merely offer the service of a smart meter for your convenience.
The landlord who is responsible for paying the bill will be able to tell you which electric supplier they use for your property.
You should be able to request a user manual for your meter from your landlord.

This is a review in two parts

This is a review in two parts - Deeply concerning regarding the staffs attitude when you call, unhelpful and jobsworth is all one can say on that front. The login to access your account is shockingly bad.
The meters are really good. Just don't hope to get any help when things go wrong. Just pray you can sort it and don't die of despair in the interim. Apparently Mr Homer the MD does not speak to mere mortals and all emails sent get vetted by the manager first. Interesting?

To all who blames meter pay I would…

To all who blames meter pay I would first ask your landlords at what KW rate you are being charged as this is set by the landlord not meter pay.

If the KW rate is higher then what the landlord pays then your getting rip off by the landlord not meterpay. Also confirm that the meterpay meter is only supplying you and is not wired to supply others in your property of its shared.

I am a landlord who have meterpay on the first floor and the meterpay meter only supply's the first floor. I have declared the KW to the tenant and proved that he's paying only what I get charged and that I am not making a profit on it (making a profit on that I can get fined for it)

Also check what landlord charging you as a standing charge as well a KW unit

All this should be directed at the landlord not meterpay. I been using meterpay meters at the flat for 3 year and the cost has been what you would expect to pay if you payed the electric company directly.

The only thing I have found that if you paid by card you would expect to pay the card processing fees which is very nominal amount. Not the amount suggested here and that the landlord would have to pay for that anyway.

Just do ask the right person and get proof is the jist of what I and saying

I find out about it by accident,by being away 3 days, to return to empty meter how possible why I'm charged for what ? Questions no answers , Also I want create account on meter pay.net, why I can't create my personal customer account, always error or my email wrong ,or password must have some digit or what ever excuses for not allow us create account to be able to see all info from day one I start using this system. money . I'm customer and customer is right and it's a fact .I wrote to Meterpsy.net customer support ,got fast reply, that they can't answer anything to my questions I have to go to energy provider.

Theres something very dodgy about this…

Theres something very dodgy about this company. Even though I use a smart meter connected to meter pay, I can not see how much energy I'm using but yet they insist on me setting up an account. When I set up a account it never saves my meter number so every time I have to put in my meter number. But hey guess what there's a facilty to store my bank details.... I also can't see what money I have left remotely or when I log in and how much I've used on emergency credit. The companies set up to take money off people that are struggling and not help them or communicate to them in any means useful to alleviate stress. I want to know exactly what's going on so I can plan my finances for the day / week / month but they keep you in the dark so that you are in fear and give them money. They sell the service on "money going on in real time" but not my money spent with them going out. Legal Scam stay away! I will not move into a property next that has this company and who has no empathy for the people. Absolute awful service.

0 rating. Absolutely shocking company. Fraudulent. Costing £10 a day to run a bedroom in a house with just the fridge on. If I was actually at home it would be costing £20 a day. I can't even put the washing machine on. How can this be acceptable?
