5 Minutes to Open, Endless Visits to Fix: My Worst Experience with Meezan Bank

My experience with Meezan Bank has been extremely disappointing. Opening an account may take just 5 minutes, but when it comes to reactivating a dormant account, it turns into a frustrating and time-consuming ordeal.

I have visited the branch multiple times—at least five visits with all required documents submitted, yet there has been no proper response or resolution. On top of that, I made several calls to their helpline and even tried reaching out to the head office, but the lack of coordination and accountability is shocking.

The customer service is seriously pathetic and inefficient. There seems to be no urgency, no ownership, and no respect for the customer’s time. Instead of a smooth and professional banking experience, I was met with delays, vague responses, and complete inaction.

It is highly disappointing that a bank that promotes itself as customer focused fails so badly in basic service delivery. This kind of negligence not only wastes time but also erodes trust. Definitely one of the worst banking experiences I’ve had.

Totally disgusting service. Their app also is down for almost 11 months out of 12. Once my payment stuck from payoneer to meezan and I was calling them for 2 weeks and they keep hanging. Will not recommend them.

Very poor customer support experience…

Very poor customer support experience with Meezan Bank.

I reported a mistaken transfer of PKR 20,000 made through the mobile banking app due to a simple typing error in the account number. I immediately contacted the bank and provided all transaction details and proof.

Instead of initiating a proper recovery process or contacting the receiving bank, I received a generic response telling me to contact the beneficiary myself — which is not even possible, as banks do not share customer details.

This is highly disappointing. A bank should at least attempt to assist in fund recovery by coordinating with the receiving bank or reaching out to the beneficiary. Completely shifting the responsibility to the customer shows lack of support and accountability.

I expected much better service and responsiveness, especially in a situation involving financial loss due to a genuine mistake.

I hope Meezan Bank improves its complaint handling process and takes such cases more seriously in the future.

My experience with Meezan Bank has been extremely disappointing. My mobile app access issue has been unresolved for over a year. I have contacted support multiple times, but nothing has been properly fixed. Being locked out of my own account for this long is unacceptable. The lack of practical solutions and follow-up shows very poor customer service. This has honestly been the worst banking experience I have ever had.

Worst for Overseas account holders

I am extremely disappointed with the service. My former relationship manager, Mr. Owais, repeatedly ignored my WhatsApp messages and emails and did not handle my requests on time.

After I raised this issue, my new account manager, Ms. Adela, also stopped responding. It has now become a pattern of non-responsiveness.

I have records of the communication and can provide proof if needed. I expected better customer care and accountability. If this is not resolved, I will close my account.

This is a fraud bank

This is a fraud bank. Like the usual practice in Pakistan, this bank also uses Islam's name for carrying out fraudulent and sham financial activities. The mobile app is the worst when compared to all other banks. It glitches at the exact moment a transaction is supposed to happen and then you will be begging them through emails and phone calls to return your hard earned money. The cheque clearing process at their branches is yet another challenge. Irrelevant objections are raised and the cheque is not cleared while your account faces deduction. This is the worst ever bank I have come across and I would suggest people to refrain from this bank for their banking uses.

Fraudsters

There is no option for zero star so I could give to meezan bank because they deserve zero star rating.
Why I'm here just to inform they have started fraudulent activities with the account holders
My account was scammed around 8000 pkr because someone used my card for the online purchasings and shipments and I didn't receive any Otp or email so I could aware someone is using my card after more than 25 little little transactions very next day when I checked my account almost 8k was deducted.
I contacted meezan customer support after adding claim it's been more than 2 months no reversal or payment whenever I call they says sorry you have to wait even most of the support agents said there is no policy of reversal.
Main point is this bank has no cyber security and not even the acknowledgement and regrets on their own negligences
