New Boiler

Just had my 30 year old boiler replaced and new radiators installed by MCR Gas. These men worked none stop over the past 2 days, all installed and working perfectly, hard working people, friendly and cleaned up the mess 👏

After nearly a year without hot water and heating im glad to chose MCR Gas for the job.

Thank you and I recommend to anyone needing Gas work.

New Combi Boiler

Unfortunately my old boiler had stopped working during the cold snap we had recently, and after a bit of research I decided to contact MCR Gas for help.

I spoke to Emma who was amazingly understanding and advised that Ryan [the Director] would visit same day to assess possible work required. Ryan gave great advice and options available to suit my needs, and I chose a like-for-like replacement which was easy for me to manage [and the boiler is super quiet].

The team arrived, they were respectful of my property and left it tidy after work was completed. I would not hesitate to contact MCR Gas again for any other work that might be required; I am very happy with the end result and would recommend them to anyone.

Fixed leak

Friendly and efficient

Had a new boiler fitted. Everything went very well. We were kept updated as to when the cold water was turned off and when it became usable again. Our outdated lead gas piping from the meter was replaced in copper as well.

Had a new boiler installed which involved moving it into the cellar from the original position in the kitchen . First class service from all concerned. Polite , punctual and didn’t leave till the job was done late on a Friday night. Highly recommend .

Trustworthy local service

Had regular service with James & Alex, both very professional and happy to take the extra time to talk me through my system. MCR Gas fixed my issues after moving in and haven't had any problems since and been getting service for a couple of years now.

Flat 508, contractors visit

James & Alec came in to fix the leakage in my toilet today.

They were really efficient at their job. Their moving & handling skills were outstanding. Very polite & respectful attitude throughout.

During their visit, I was also able to raise some concerns regarding this water issue. All my queries were answered promptly.

A huge “thank you” to both of them for their help!

Had an issue with my boiler and called MCR Gas. An engineer arrived within 50 minutes super fast response! They diagnosed and fixed the problem on the spot. The engineer was friendly, polite, and went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. Efficient, professional, and careful to protect our home throughout. Couldn’t ask for better service highly recommended!

Stefan from MCR Gas did an outstanding job!

Stefan from MCR Gas did an outstanding job of relocating our boiler and capping off unwanted old gas lines across the house ahead of our garage conversion and house renovation!

The garage will be a utility, storage area, boot room and downstairs shower room, so we are expecting a lot from a small space and it was important the boiler, pipe work and outlets were in specific places in preparation for that.

Stefan understood and did a fantastic job of putting everything in place, even making some improvements to our plans to ensure easy access to certain pipework.

He is an absolute grafter and did a neat and sound job, respecting our home, cleaning up afterwards and being professional and friendly throughout!

Wouldn’t hesitate to use MCR Gas again and highly recommend them!

We had issues with our boiler and a leak at our property, and MCR Gas came to the rescue! The engineer was fantastic—professional, friendly, and quick to identify the problem. They even went out of their way to pick up a part the same day to resolve the issue with the boiler. Not only did they fix the boiler, but they also took care of the leak. The price was very reasonable, and we were really impressed with the efficiency and quality of the service. Highly recommend!

Sadly I had a poor experience and a…

Sadly I had a poor experience and a very unsympathetic response.
I paid nearly £500 pounds for a shower leak. A leak they failed to fix. The receptionist says they'll need to send a quote for them to come back. Apparently, they'd diagnosed the problem incorrectly.
So, I'm out of pocket and left in the same position with water pouring into my kitchen.
Depressing.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, although we are naturally disappointed to read your comments.

We would like to clarify a few important points, as we do not agree with the picture that has been painted in your review.

Your initial call-out was for no heating and no hot water – a distressing situation in which you mentioned feeling unsafe in your own home. Our engineer attended promptly, identified the issue, and restored both your heating and hot water – something other companies had failed to do. At the time, you were extremely pleased with the service we provided.

Regarding the shower leak, this was a pre-existing issue. When we attended, we could clearly see previous work had been attempted, including an access hatch already created in your kitchen ceiling. Upon inspection, we found a cracked 40mm plastic fitting visibly leaking, and we took the time to explain the findings to you in full. You were happy for us to proceed with replacing the faulty trap and fittings, which we did. The shower was tested thoroughly by our engineers afterwards and no further leaks were present at that time.

You later contacted us again to say there was still a drip. We returned without hesitation or charge and identified a completely separate issue – movement in the floor causing the shower tray to pull away from the subfloor when in use. We explained that the only proper fix would be to have the wet room floor redone, but in the meantime we attempted a temporary seal, explaining it might not hold. Unfortunately, as we advised, this temporary solution did not work.

You then called us again, and we returned once more – again, at no charge – to explain the situation and the need for more extensive remedial work.

We fully understand that these issues are frustrating and costly, especially at this time. However, we want to be clear: at no point did we misdiagnose the problem. We addressed each issue as it presented itself and were transparent throughout. The total charge was £102 for the initial breakdown (which was resolved), and £408 for the shower trap replacement – which included parts and labour. The two follow-up visits were completely free of charge.

We believe we have acted professionally, honestly, and fairly at every stage, and we’re disappointed this hasn’t been reflected in your review.
