I'm overall satisfied with my purchase.
Thanks for fast delivery!
Great service - rapid deliver, excellent communications, very competitive prices. Nothing better out there!
Good quality and service!
Used MCG timber first time. Delivered as promised. I really pleased with the quality of the decking! I will use MCG timber again!
STAY WELL AWAY
STAY AWAY from this company. They come across as professional when then are taking your money and may ask for a direct bank transfer. PAY BY CREDIT CARD so you can get a refund when they fail to deliver your goods. Not only did they fail to deliver on the agreed date, the are uncontactable, the phone just ringing and ringing and will not respond to any emails. I very much doubt I will see any refund, don't make the mistake I did.
Rip Off
I have been scammed out of £620 for timber cladding for a new shed I'm building. As other reviewers have said, they do not respond to emails and it seems impossible to get through to them on the phone. The mobile telephone number which was given originally is no longer available. They keep a polite English lad to answer calls in the first instance but what he is obviously expected to do is lie to customers. Initially, I did not receive an electronic invoice so was sent one subsequently which looked legitimate. I was told that the order was ready for shipping and that I would receive notification of this via email. This was clearly rubbish. I'm no idiot but they certainly got the better of me. Their ebay business under first choice timber has dried up which, when I noticed that, it sent alarm bells ringing. I am another victim.
SCAMMING CON ARTISTS...AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Ordered £290 worth of timber over the phone via advert on eBay. Trading under FIRST CHOICE 4 TIMBER. They took £350. The goods never arrived and when I try and contact them the phone no's go dead. After seeing the transaction go through my bank account under the heading plantsandtreesonline I goodled them and found nothing but negative feedback similar to mine. They are very clever trading with some realistic websites I just hope they get there comeuppance very soon. I suspect the positive comments below are as fake as the companies themselves. I have contacted trading standards & companies house awaiting a response. Plantsandtreesonline are also operating under the umbrella company MCG Timber.
This company is not to be trusted - They will take your money and run
I should have checked the reviews before making my purchase from this awful company but unfortunately I also fell victim to them. As you can see from the other reviews, they are clearly not to be trusted!
They have terrible communication, no customer service enquiries are responded to and when it becomes apparent that no delivery is going to be made, it is impossible to receive a refund.
I would suggest that you steer well clear of this company and the director Anton Korablev (and the numerous other cowboy operations he runs) as he will rip you off.
Absolute shambles - Avoid at all cost - Total scam
I ordered from this company late last year and the experience was absolutely dreadful. Order did not arrive, no contact, no explanation and no refund without a charge-back.
As you can see from other reviews, this is not the first time the company has failed to deliver.
On further investigation it seems the company is a subsidiary of 'MCG Retail Services', which also runs plants and trees online (see the shocking reviews for that one!), as well as various dissolved companies, among which are UK Hot Tub Store, Uk Debt Recovery, garden buildings online and many others.
I bought from them through eBay which seems to have since been shut down (northwesttimberuk), in place of which various new eBay shops have sprung up all with similar branding - most recently olecazac-0
the director claims to be Anthony Korablev but also seems to be operating under Anton Korablev and Anthony Johnson!
Absolutely shocking and quite amazing this company has been allowed to continue running - do yourself a favour and avoid this company.
Avoid MCG Timber at all costs - or it will cost you.
They messed up my initial order and then messed up the replacement delivery; the delivery eventually turned up [Driver had an open can of Fosters on the dash], but with the wrong amount of wood. Despite agreeing a refund I have never had it. Tom on the sales desk is pleasant to talk to, but either lies or is totally incompetent. They will not call back or reply by e-mail. They will not respond to correspondence from you, the credit card card or trading standards and as a result no action can be taken against them.
I don't know if it's incompetence or criminal.
The worst supplier in the UK Building Industry
I have been undertaking building projects for over 30 years and come across some really bad suppliers, but this bunch of clowns take the 'Worst Supplier in the Building Industry' award. If I could leave negative stars, I would. Delivery schedules are fairy tales, trying to get a refund a nightmare, every member of staff seems to have been employed for their skill at lying. Avoid them at all costs.
