Loyalty No Longer Matters to Marriott
So for 25 plus years I have been giving Marriott just about all of my business. Recently I had 2 situations which forced me to cancel at the last minute. One was a meeting cancellation and the other a hurricane.
In both instances, they chose to charge me and repeatedly cite the policy versus looking at my loyalty as a Marriott customer and granting me some grace.
I understand policy...I sincerely do but I also understand brand loyalty and how hard a customer is to come by these days. I will continue using Marriott (at least in the near term) but it is getting harder and harder each time I make a booking.
Great place to stay
Nice stay with fitting service. I stayed in Rotterdam and found myself in a beautiful building with great hosts and a fantastic room.
I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard…
I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Cottonwood Salt Lake City in Utah.
The hotel is new and very comfortable with great views over the lake.
The stay was made special by the exceptional service of the Receptionist, Brenda who was ready to act on any request to make the stay more enjoyable. Her friendliness, smile and vibrant positive attitude is a credit to the hotel and her company. What a lovely lady.
One of the worst program ever
One of the worst program ever
I was Platinum in SPG and the program was fantastic: free breakfast, no problem in accrediting points, loyalty gifts etc...
since it got acquired by Marriott, I literally hate this program. They removed all the perks (free breakfast,etc...) downgraded my platinum for life status to Gold, and they find all the possible excuses to reduce the amount of loyalty points... I'm just waiting once all the points I have will finish and then i will switch to Hyatt and Hilton... that are by far better program than this
Warning for Fellow Roadwarriors - Marriott Does Not Value Loyalty
A case study in bad business. After spending over 1,000 nights in Marriott properties and countless dollars, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. The breaking point was when I discovered that the group would no longer recognize the full spending if I had two simultaneous bookings. I explained to Marriott that I had a home base at one property and continued to spend at the Marriott when I travelled. I thought one email would clear things up and that would be it. Sadly no. At the highest level of their loyalty program, they provide a 'personal ambassador'. I would have assumed the core responsibility of this person would be to increase the customer's spending and to assist the customer and advocate for them across the group, all while protecting the core interests of the company. The case was presented to them and they hid behind an ill-thought-out policy. When I explained the revenue that the company stood to lose, they clung steadfastly to this asinine policy. Perhaps the Marriott has grown too big to care, too big to value loyal customers and worse yet, too big to use common sense. Farewell Marriott!
Double charged me for a stay early…
Double charged me for a stay at Twickenham early June.. chased and chased and chased... after escalating assured my £280 would be returned by today. NADA. NOTHING. ZERO. ZILTH.
Marriot Warthom Abbey - poor service
Marriot Warthom Abbey and the Marriot Customer Services - I reported an incident where, at Warthom Abbey is Essex London the reception gave a customer my room key, by double booking my room. I was asleep at midnight and the person entered my room.
This was reported and nobody did anything. So myself and my friend who was also in the room emailed and reported. They made so many difference excuses, one saying members of staff do security checks? AT MIDNIGHT? And then said the system was down so it was a system fault.
Then I emailed the actually customer services. They didn’t even try investigate, they just said sorry here’s 10,000 points, but that gets me nothing. So I declined and said there needs to be better help. I was ignored, so emailed again and was 4”responded by someone with sorry about your issue etc it’s been forwarded to the supervisor team… this was a month ago and I haven’t gotten a reply.
The company is unprofessional and a liability, no remorse about your safety.
SIgnificantly more expensive when…
SIgnificantly more expensive when booking directly for a 2 week holiday in Mauritius for planned wedding trip. Saw it was much cheaper through hotel booking sites and submitted a price match claim. They declined because they say the booking sites cant give "instant confirmation" so they wont price match lol. Can anyone give instant confirmation other than the hotel directly ? ie an impossible to claim guarantee ?! The booking agent confirms within a minute on past experience but this isnt "instant" haha. Hilarious policy and such a pointless guarantee........
Disgraceful Service at Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel
I am deeply dissatisfied with the service at Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel. The customer service, especially from Lena, Rudy, Alex Viyar, and Paolo Dimailig, was appalling. They dismissed my legitimate requests about rewards redemption and responded with, "I can not read what you are showing me. We are not gonna help you in here." This experience left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a Marriott Bonvoy Elite Member. I strongly urge potential guests to reconsider this location.

My friends purchased me vouchers at the Tudor park Marriott golf and country club in Kent for my birthday last December x2 vouchers unfortunately for myself I was recovering from prostate cancer vouchers lapsed due to my health bye one month ,, sorry there’s nothing we can do !! Unbelievable, that’s all they offered sorry there’s nothing we can do , other than freeload my pals money into there coffers without supplying a service , I think almost dying are grounds for a bit of leeway !!! Please do not do business with the…
Please do not do business with the Marriott anywhere. I stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott at the Tucson, AZ airport. I am a single elderly woman traveling by myself. I was scammed and cheated for a single room by the assistant manager named Jonathan. My attorney found out he has a serious drug addiction. I called Johnathon for three months every day. I was put through someone named Destiny. I never received a refund. I let Destiny know I am ready to file criminal charges against Jonathan who stole $2300.00. Also, I told them I am ready to file a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Marriott. Their sick mentality is they would rather risk going to jail for theft and be sued for millions than to repay the $2300.00 they stole. BE WARNED, THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF THEIVES AND CRIMINALS. THE MANAGERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO CHEAT AND SCAM WOMEN TRAVELING ALONE.
Food Poisoning From Staying Here
My partner & I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott London Gatwick Airport the day before we took a 10 hour flight to Mexico. During our stay we ordered room service, a main meal each, a side to share & a dessert each which extortionately cost us over £80. After consuming the food we both awoke early hours of the morning feeling extremely unwell with sickness and diarrhoea. We barely slept due to being so unwell and were still unwell when we checked out. We informed the reception team who made us fill out a form and said they would pass it to higher management to contact us. Once returning from our two week vacation I reached out to the contact given and received no response. After chasing I finally got a response to say this would go to another company to investigate. I chased both companies for an outcome for 7 weeks to be told the case had been ‘accidentally closed’ and would be reopened for investigation. After waiting over 8 weeks they have now confirmed they are not liable and think my partner and I were ill before we arrived at the hotel which we were certainly my partner and I both suffered with food poisoning! Would not stay at this hotel again due to the lack and care and attention to such a serious matter and certainly would not eat there even if someone paid me!
I'd get rid of those silly…
I'd get rid of those silly old-fashioned books in the rooms (getting a bit dated for 2024). I don't mind Marriot, but the delta marriot in York was expensive as the swimming facility was not fully operational.
Thank you all…
We stayed at the Courtyard in Miraflores, Lima and it proved to be a heart warming experience. Not having traveled for over a decade and not knowing what to expect, we were treated to the kindest and most comforting experience possible. From the helpful and understanding people at the front desk to the dining staff and also the room attendants, everyone was professional and eager to please. I could name names but we would need an another volume, but an abrazo for Paulo, Luis, Cesar, Eduardo, Juan Diego, Igor, Wendy,Melissa, Rueben and Jesus. My wife has special dietary concerns and cannot tolerate MSG and it was a pleasant surprise to learn that this hotel does not use it. It is centrally located to restaurants, shops and Park Kennedy with easy transport to Larcomar. My wife is Peruvian by birth and a transplanted gringa and I used to work in Peru and if the Lord our Father grants us the time to return it will be to this hotel. De parte de nosotros quedamos eternamente agradecidos por el carino y la dedicacion de sus empleados.

Horrible Service - RENAISSANCE NEW YORK HARLEM HOTEL
I requested numerous times before my stay for an early check-in via webpage and phone. When my flight arrived at 9:57am, we proceeded to the hotel to be told that they saw the reservation and the notes but no room was ready (on a Wednesday). I knew I couldn't walk around for hours due to a medical condition. I explained this to them. They said they would stow our bags and that we should go to lunch then come back and check-in. When we got back at 1:30pm (shift change or something) and asked for our room, we were told that room wouldn't be ready until 3pm. They would try to get me a room as soon as possible. I told everyone else in my party to go walk around while I waited (I was livid). I went back at 3pm exhausted and extremely discontent only to be told that they couldn't find my reservation and that he was new and didn't think there was a room ready until 4pm. I told him I was going to make another reservation somewhere else. I was disappointed as I was excited to stay in Harlem. Other people came back and forth to try to help him find my reservation and about 10 minutes until 4pm was when they found a room. (Btw I saw 7 different parties get room keys and sent up while I waited in the lobby) They lost one of our bags so we kept waiting until they found it. (30 min or so) We got to our room around 5pm. They gave us vouchers which by the way come with our room. 25 dollars but each breakfast which costs that or more so it didn't really help that much since we only got 1 voucher per day. We ate at the restaurant each morning but always wished we hadn't. The service was not good. We waited for our server to take our order and asked the lady filling our coffee/water to find the 1 server that they had. (But honestly, there were only 5 tables with people at it.) She couldn't find her and said she couldn't take our order. We ate but waited forever for the server to come back out from wherever they go in-between orders so that we could give them the voucher and sign our ticket. We were late to both morning appointments. We gave ourselves an hour each time and that was clearly not enough time. On our last day, we were late to our morning appointment at the Empire. So we called the hotel to ask if we could check out at 1pm instead of noon. They said no problem and didn't tell me that there would be a 50 dollar fee for doing so. I feel that them letting me have that extra hour back would have softened the blow of all the other issues. But the last straw was the charge I got after I got back home. What is even worse is that after they approved my late checkout, they locked me out of my room and when I got back I would have checked out at 12:30pm but they had to redo my keys and a different 1st day person was unfamiliar with how to do that so I had to wait for a manager to come teach him. They need to train their people better and communicate better with their customers.
Recruitment team is a Nightmare!
Recruitment team is a Nightmare!
Hi,
I hope you're well.
I would be really grateful if you could provide some feedback on why my application was rejected. This is my third or fourth application that has not been successful with your recruiting team.
I’m eager to understand more about your hiring process and what qualities, skills, or experiences you’re looking for. This would be a great help for me in the future.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Kind regards, Muhammad Fahad Masood
The Marriott is getting worst
The Marriott is getting worst. I can't use my reward night on any hotel. If I want to book two nights, they asked me to pay extra points for two nights. I have 59000 points. They asked for 1250 US dollars for two nights. But their home page the hotel for public is 343 dollars for one night. I booked the same hotels two nights on Expedia is 601 dollars, tax is includes. It is insane. Furthermore, the system for redemm points for gift card didn't work. It kept showing error , I call them, the agent is rude and said she can't contact IT to fix. I decided to cancel CHASE MARRIOT CREDIT CARD. NO ANY BENEFIT ANYMORE.
Mara at courtyard Inverness - stand out employee
I booked a stay at the Marriott Courtyard at Inverness airport, Scotland. Mara from the reservations team handled my booking and she couldn't have been more helpful. She went out her way to find the best price possible and was very quick at responding to emails. She is a credit to the company.
Only reason for the 4 stars is due to the price, staff have so far made up for that though.
Marriott Residence Inn-Round Rock TX-…
Marriott Residence Inn-Round Rock TX- this location is completely out dated- cockroaches and other bugs seen in the room- water faucets fixtures coming out of the walls, moldy mildew around hvac vents, overall unhealthy disgusting environment. I would use caution when staying here. Marriott needs to take a hard look at who they are allowing to represent their brand. Marriott do your due diligence with franchises. Thank you lifetime titanium member.
BA avios estore scammers
Yet another company that puts itself on the BA Avios estore then doesn't pay out, lying by claiming that "your last click for your purchase was not made via British Airways Avios eStore site but another marketing source"
Utter nonsense. I've been using the BA Avios estore for many years, I'm well aware of how it works. I didn't use another marketing source. Please, just stop with the lies and admit you're just abusing the system you opted to be part of.
