Amazing!!!!!!!!!g

The sales lady was so calm and kind, and the person that actually pierced my ear was like amazing and I really recommend going to Maria Tash because it’s actually unbelievable

1 Star — Maria Tash Is a Fraud

I spent $1,900 at Maria Tash. Three pieces broke within days. Two fell out of my ears and are gone forever because the closures failed while I was living my life. Not running a marathon. Not welding. Existing.

When I contacted them, they blamed me — called it "improper installation." It's an earring, not a carburetor.

Their racket works like this: the return policy says you can't return worn items. The defective item policy is a separate section entirely. So when your earring breaks on your body, they say you wore it, so no return. And when you say it's defective, they say prove it. But you can't, because it fell out of your ear and disappeared because it was defective. It is a policy structure designed to make it impossible to get your money back no matter what happens. That's not customer service. That's fraud with a serif font.

I'm not the only person this happened to. The reviews are full of the same story. Diamonds glued in instead of set. Clickers that won't latch. Threaded posts that don't fit standard backings. Stones falling out during normal wear. $500 pieces breaking in months. The pattern is so consistent it's practically a business model.

Professional piercers have stopped carrying this brand. Multiple piercers have said publicly they won't stock Maria Tash because of recurring quality failures. When the people whose entire livelihood depends on jewelry working properly refuse to sell yours, that tells you everything.

A former Maria Tash employee — a piercer — left a review saying: "Bad management, bad practices, terrible experience. I'm pretty sure it's a cult. Jewelry is made so cheap for its cost and the integrity of the piercing is not thought of. Stylists regularly do whatever to make the sale." Their own staff is telling you the jewelry is cheap and the sales tactics are predatory.

Maria Tash holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are not BBB accredited and have failed to respond to filed complaints. And in 2024, Maria Tash actually sued a customer for fraud. The company that sells defective jewelry, refuses refunds, and hides behind contradictory policies is taking customers to court. Let that sink in.

Maria Tash charges luxury prices for product quality you wouldn't accept from a mall kiosk. The difference is the mall kiosk doesn't gaslight you when the $12 earring breaks. Maria Tash will blame you for their garbage craftsmanship and keep your $1,900 with a smile.

This company survives on aesthetics, Instagram, and the assumption that anyone spending this much won't bother fighting back. I spent $1,900 and got a week of wear and a masterclass in corporate gaslighting. Blatant consumer fraud.

Maria Tash

Maria Tash: How can a brand of this calibre gaslight and treat customers with such blatant contempt?

Shameless behaviour from their online retail shop.
They tried to refuse a £580.00 refund by sending a photo of a heavily scratched item and claimed it was down to me.

I visited Liberty of London in December 2025 to buy my wife's Christmas gift - we are regular customers.
We have previously purchased from Maria Tash in-store and have always had a positive experience.
Unfortunately, the piece I was interested in for my wife was not available in her correct size.
I was advised by an assistant that it was available online and should arrive in time if ordered the next day. So, to confirm, I viewed the very same earring before purchase. However, when it arrived, it certainly did not match expectations or resemble the one seen in the store.
It was a dull grey, not bright blue and just didn't sparkle or look premium. I was hugely disappointed and quite embarrassed to give to my wife on Christmas Day.
We both took the earring to Maria Tash in Liberty unworn in its box, on 3rd January, and the assistant agreed in her own words, that it didn't look right and we should send it back.
The after-sales experience that followed was utterly shocking, and, reading many online reviews, I realised, in disbelief, that I was not alone in having exactly the same experience.
Firstly, I was patronised and told that Lapis is a natural stone, and that its colour can vary.
‘This is perfectly normal’ Rubbish! So I sent it back for a refund at my own cost, and then it really kicks off proper full-on gaslighting!
Quote from Alex Niculae, Head of Maria Tash Client Services:
‘Please note that we have successfully received your return. However, upon inspection, the hoop has been found to show signs of wear, with deep scratches on the wearable surface and visible scratches on the piece itself. I have attached images for your reference. While you mentioned that this piece had not been worn, our records confirm that the item left our warehouse in pristine condition, which differs significantly from the condition in which it was received for return. We maintain strict hygiene policies to ensure the safety of our customers, and unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns on worn merchandise.
Please provide us with your return shipping address so we may send the item back to You’

However, unbeknownst to their client services manager, I could prove that we had been in their store a few days earlier with the ring in its box and unworn. On learning this, he quickly backtracked & arranged a refund. However, he offered no apology, no alternative replacement, but did ‘wish me a great week ahead’
Sensing his behaviour was odd and highly suspicious, I kept pushing for a full explanation and said I believed there were only 3 scenarios for the cause of this damage:

1/I received an earring that had been worn already
2/The photo sent to me of the scratched earring was a different piece and not the one I sent back
3/The earring had been severely damaged in transit

He chose option 3
‘After reviewing your return once more, we can confirm that aside from the surface scratches, the item appears to be unworn. For this reason, we’re happy to accept your return. It’s possible that the item came loose from the inner foam of the jewelry box during transit, causing the surface scratches.

OK? no not ok!! If a jewelry box can cause that much damage to a small gold earring, how can that possibly be described as ‘following the highest standards of hygiene’
Scratches from a box on a brand new piece of jewelry cannot be ‘hygienic’ - my purchase didn't even have a soft fabric pouch to protect it - it came jammed into a small aperture in a cheap foam box.
I subsequently raised a complaint with Liberty about the concerning behaviour of one of its key concessionaires. Disappointingly, they took the view that it had nothing to do with them as it was not directly purchased in-store. They didn't even want to see the email evidence of what went on… but I sent it anyway.
My advice to Liberty was: ‘You should now engage a professional independent jeweller to view these photos sent to me, proclaiming all these deep scratches and marks were caused by us over the 2-week period, despite us proving it had never been worn. You cannot deny this is affecting your own reputation, but maybe they already know that something is very rotten in their Kingdom... who knows!
I also sent the customer service at Liberty the full transcript of my emails with Maria Tash and a dozen or so similar online complaints all in one document, and finished up by stating the following:
'By sending you this email, Liberty of London cannot claim ignorance of serious customer accusations against Maria Tash'

Please read all the other similar reviews, and beware!

Maria Tash Liberty London - Outstanding Service

My 15 yr old daughter had her earlobes pierced for the first time and had the trinity ball earrings fitted with threaded posts. I had a helix piercing and the diamond eternity hoop. I had pre booked. We found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. The piercer was excellent, explaining the process and being patient whilst my daughter moved the hole positioning beforehand. It was a great experience and the earrings are lovely. All piercings have been healing brilliantly with zero issues. However, after three weeks of wear one of the frontals from my daughter’s earrings went missing, despite regularly checking the threads were tight. I received an outstanding service from customer services, it was quick and thoughtful with a goodwill gesture offered to replace it after explaining the situation. I realised that they didn’t have to do this. We will be visiting at the weekend to get it fitted. A great service all round, I would highly recommend for a special treat!

Pretty jewellery shame about the staff

Pretty jewellery shame about the staff. If I had encountered rude staff just the once I’d put it down to bad experience but to have a bad experience each visit its not acceptable. With so much competition they really need to do better, sadly the jewellery isn’t that good that the staff can act like jumped up A/holes. After seeing the shocking bad reviews on here I’m clearly not the only one that feels this way.

Poor quality & denied return on new earrings claiming wear

I purchased 2 pairs of earrings online & while I was trying on one of the earrings, the post at the end bent. I reported this to the company & they were willing to fix, but I told them I was able to screw it into the threaded backing. I didn’t take the other earrings out of the box & decided to return so I could see how the first pair held up, as I was concerned that the post bent so easily.

I was shocked when I received an email that they denied the return because the earrings showed signs of wear & attached a blurry pic of what looked like many scratches on the earring. When I responded that the earrings I returned were new/not taken out of the box, they sent me 2 additional pics & this time said the post was also bent. I returned the earrings the day after I received it, but there looked to be many scratches on the earrings in the pics. This was not the earrings I returned.

I have since researched this company & found that their products have quality issues, they have poor customer service & have a history of denying returns, claiming earrings were worn. I will not be purchasing anything from this dishonest company going forward. I’ll also be filing a consumer complaint with the BBB & attorney general in my state.

Lee and Elijah are fabulous at Maria Tash

I actually made a decision to visit this store based on feedback I had seen from the Host of Today on NBC when she got her ears pierced and how fabulous the service and products were.

My previously pierced ears I thought had closed over and I was recently gifted some beautiful Bulgari earrings I wanted to wear.

I rang and spoke with Lee and arranged to see him the next day - we went over the styles of earrings I liked, and he made some fabulous suggestions - even though the store was crazy bus, he took his time, and I didn't feel rushed at all.
In addition, he listened to what my plan was.

Then I met the piercer, Elijah and he was just fabulous and took his time explaining the sanitized solutions, and he in fact checked the holes and identified that 3 of them didn't need re piercing.

He did an amazing job and was very clear as was Lee around the follow up needed to keep the lobes and piercings protected - he was very clear for the reasons that I needed to return in around 6 weeks to change out the posts to shorter ones.

I left with the sterile wipes etc. and instructions how to purchase more via Amazon and truly there have no aftereffects

I am actually going back next week and will be adding another ear piercing - Lee was fabulous in following up to see how things were progressing.

I rarely write reviews but they deserve this one- thanks Lee and Elijah.

Shocking lack of help

Shocking lack of help. Continuing to pursue for repair on a piece one earring £1,200 as a gift 4 years ago sheared off inside screw post. Whilst I don’t expect help for free I do feel the item is worthy of support. However all they keep saying is prove whom bought it. I cannot as receipt no longer have I. The item was a gift the person is now no longer with us. Looking on here others have complained of the lack of quality and support.

Good for first piercing but…

Lovely experience to get my twins their first piercing here but slightly confused how we paid £30 more per earring than the website suggested when we were planning the trip. We did enquire the reason but none of the store staff were able to give a sensible reason and no refund or price adjustment was offered. Felt a bit misled to be honest.

Would only come here for my piercings

Always a joy to visit Maria Tash for new piercings, resizing bars from previous piercings and new jewellery. The team are always friendly, knowledgable, happy and welcoming. Never have to wait long for assistance. Resizing healed bars today took no time at all with a lot of laughs and smiles between the team and also clients waiting for their turn to get new jewellery. New piercing was fun with precise placment after careful discussion (Thanks Kai!). Piercings need to be looked after and is the responsibility of the person who has had it done. Follow instructions and don’t play with them too much in the first few weeks. The team at Maria Tash in Harrods (and Liberty) are all highly trained professionals and do right by us as clients. Could not be more happy with our new piercing and resizing today. Thanks again guys xxx

Terrible staff

I visited the store yesterday with my sister to purchase a butterfly stud, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Three members of staff — Mona Lisa, the pink-haired staff member, and the bald man with tattoos — were condescending and unhelpful throughout our visit.

When I asked about prices, they were slow to respond and seemed unsure of the details. It became clear this was a tactic to upsell, even though we spent over £1,000. At one point, I was told the studs I wanted weren’t available, even though I could see the staff discussing them among themselves. Instead, they tried to push a floating diamond stud priced around £1,000, despite me repeatedly stating I wasn’t interested. I had to ask three separate times for the price, and the staff member continued to include items I hadn’t agreed to. I eventually looked up the prices myself online because she was being deliberately slow and evasive.

The entire process took an hour and a half when it could easily have been completed in ten minutes if they had simply listened to what I asked for. There are three sizes of the earring I wanted, but they kept showing me the largest instead of the medium size I requested. They even claimed it only came in two sizes, although the website clearly shows three — each with a different price. I ultimately purchased the butterfly stud just to end the ordeal.

I was also pressured to get two piercings “in case I was too swollen to return,” which felt pushy and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I witnessed the staff being rude to each other in front of customers, which created a toxic and uncomfortable atmosphere.

On several occasions, I asked to see the placement of where the piercing would be done, but both the pink-haired staff member and the bald man were noticeably cold and dismissive in their responses. Overall, the staff’s attitude and lack of basic courtesy made for an unpleasant experience.

I’ve noticed that some staff in Harrods carry themselves with an air of superiority, which often comes across as rude and unwelcoming. I would strongly recommend visiting Liberty instead — their staff are genuinely polite, attentive, and professional.

So disappointed in quality

While I truly love the aesthetic of Maria Tash jewelry, the quality has been consistently disappointing. Over the last 4–5 years, I’ve purchased five pieces—and only one has *not* required repairs. One or two of them have even broken *twice*. By contrast, none of the jewelry I own from other brands (in a similar price range) has ever needed repair.

For example, I bought a necklace around 2020 that broke on two separate occasions, each time in a different spot. Meanwhile, I own two necklaces from a similarly priced competitor that remain completely intact. Now, I rarely wear the Maria Tash necklace because I’m afraid it will break again.

I also purchased a pair of seamless diamond white gold hoops in late 2021 for $600. Within six months, one earring needed repair because it would no longer click closed. Then, in September 2025, one fell out of my ear entirely and was lost. A few days later when I removed the other earring to take a photo for lost and found, that one broke as well. For context, I’ve only taken off these earrings a handful of times since buying them—out of fear that frequent handling would cause damage.

Unfortunately, that’s not the end of it. I also purchased two individual studs on separate occasions. While removing one from my nostril, the diamond fell out and had to be sent in for repair. Though it was reset, the post is now crooked and won’t thread properly into the backing. At this point, I’m just waiting for it to fall out on its own and disappear too.

For the cost of these, they should last much longer than a few months or years.

My two daughters went there just for ear piercing. They came out with a $9300 of bill that they charge on their credit cards, one of my daughter is a minor. These people are crooks and unethical and thieves. The jewelry is not the quality that way mention and they are 5 times over price than other places. Do yourself a favor and avoid these people, you can find a lot cheaper in other places.

Adore Maria Tash

I've been wearing Maria Tash for years generally purchase online via Harrods/Liberty as no Manchester store but one visit to the shop which was a real treat. They are seriously beautiful earrings and I have never had an issue with the quality or earrings falling out/breaking. Chap in the store was professional and competent. Big big fan of the brand and won't wear any other brand in my ears.

Maria Tash… high quality experience and expertise

Maria Tash is a brand known for luxury piercing and fine jewellery at Liberty and it hit 10/10 on every level.

From my questions en route to the store about ID, to meeting a very calm and welcoming Dimitri who was so inclusive with my 9 year old daughter … involving her in the signing in process. He gave us honest opinions on the style of earrings available (which are all stunning) and reassured my daughter with all of her questions - letting us sit in a private waiting area - even speeding us through the queue to avoid my daughter having too much time to overthink…it helped that he was very cool and a clear fan of TASH jewellery himself!

Remember … real needles and at least 14k are the ideal route for children’s ear piercing! This is why we chose Maria TASH!

Our piercing experience was with the professional PIERCER EMMA… I’m eternally grateful to her.
My daughters’ ‘rite of passage’ experience was memorable … Emma was calm, a people person with huge patience. We worked as a great team to get the end result, all centred around the needs of my daughter … reassuring her along the way!

It was our privilege to witness her skill and ability and to make the experience a wonderful mumma and daughter time. Again it helped that Emma was a clear artist of piercing herself and had pink hair - like my daughter (for her birthday) a win win for us and inspirational for my 9 year old.

Thank you for the after care guidance, the photo and certificate and for a fun/comfortable time … WE DID IT!!!

I understand it’s unpredictable how it’s heal on each person but someone has ro warn u that it could be a case. But i guess like every business they only care about the profit not the client. Beautiful pieces but unsecured designs….

Beautiful pieces and piercers are always so nice. I’m saying this as someone who has had piercings done both in the LA location and Harrods a few times. While I love their designs and jewellery and have struggled to find other brands that I like their jewellery aesthetics as much, MT loses on points due to the poor security of its earrings. I’ve had hoops pop open and threaded studs unwind. In some cases I was fortunate to find the earrings when this happened, but that’s usually when they’ve come off while I was sleeping. Other times, I was not so fortunate and had studs just fall off my ears (unknown to me) never to be seen again. Usually only finding out it was lost when I look in a mirror. Extremely disappointing especially because they aren’t cheap. When I’ve gone into the store and asked for my other earrings to be tightened or reinstalled, the piercers always seem surprised when I mention the unsecured nature of the earrings because of threading, yet from other reviews it appears it isn’t unusual. It appears it’s a design flaw and one that should be looked into. Otherwise, it’s unjustifiable for anyone to spend money on earrings from a brand you already know that it’s likely only a matter of time before it falls off and gets lost without any active touching of it.

Wonderful piercing experience for my…

Wonderful piercing experience for my 9-yr-old daughter. She is absolutely petrified of needles but was also desperate to get her ears pierced. We Amelia at the counter and she could not have been more lovely and calming helping my daughter pick out her first earrings. Jasmine did my daughter's piercing and did an exceptional job both with the piercing but also keeping my daughter calm and really explaining the how's and why's of caring for her piercings (with saline wipes, not playing with the earrings, etc).
