As a private tenant I cannot recommend…

As a private tenant I cannot recommend any lettings through Mann Countrywide.
They are VERY slow to respond to any requests, whether its for repairs or support as a tennant.
From my experience of getting any things fixed they often call someone to do the work then leave everything with you to sort out, and dont appear to care about any updates.

When we ran in to issues with the landlord selling the property they seemed to stop responding to any requests, and I spent almost 3 weeks trying to get ANYONE in the local office on the phone, and had to head in to be told "Sorry, I have been the only person in the office all week", things like this are not our problem, that is something that the management and head office need to address. I constantly have to chase to see if they are talking to my landlord, but get very nonchaaunt answers and the "We are trying", but if you have not heard back and are actively trying then call me after a week, not have me have to call you.

A huge thank you to Ria and everyone at…

A huge thank you to Ria and everyone at Mann Estate Agency in Gillingham for making our house sale such a positive experience. From the first conversation through to completion, everything was handled efficiently and professionally.

The team were always easy to contact, kept us informed at every stage, and dealt with any issues quickly before they became problems. Completion went through without any hiccups, which made what can often be a stressful process feel straightforward.

We really appreciate all the hard work and dedication from everyone involved and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ria and the team to anyone looking for an estate agent they can trust.

Avoid!!!

We signed up to Mann Countrywide Gillingham Kent branch in April 2026 after having an horrendous experience trying to sell our home with Yopa between September 25 & January 26. We truly believed this would be a whole different experience, only to find we were dealing with the same mentality of money counts for more than customer satisfaction. Despite the fact that we would ultimately be paying the bill we have been treated like brown stuff under buyers shoes, not by the buyers, but by the estate agent. We were presented with an offer on our property that had NOT been verified as Mann couldn’t get to see the buyers details on a mortgage, so in essence had no proof of funds, but still deemed it as a ‘genuine offer’! After waiting 5 weeks for an ‘Uncle’ to come back from India to ‘verify’ his approval of our home, yes you read that right, we finally said enough was enough and refused to take anything said about those ‘buyers’ as genuine. We then had another offer £40k below our asking price and the ‘buyer’ sent a catalogue of questions that clearly had been put together by an AI program that bore no resemblance to our home and what he had seen! Apparently 3 flies in a garden log cabin constituents an insect infestation! I would expect an estate agent to remind the ‘buyer’ of common courtesy when dealing with the people who are paying the estate agents bill! So, we found ourselves dropping the price of our home because the branch manager had ‘forgotten’ that she had placed our home in a guide price and she told us we couldn’t now have a price or in the region of, which we have been told we could have by another estate agent! We found that getting hold of anyone at that branch is sporadic and we have also found it closed during the day on a high street! Mann Countrywide Gillingham, you’re level of honesty, communication and professional service leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. We have given our notice to this company and do NOT recommend them to anyone.

Didn’t turn up for the viewing! Left standing outside with broken leg.

Absolutely unacceptable, my poor mother travelled all the way in an uber with a broken foot, to get a call last minute saying oh sorry I was unaware I had a viewing I’ll be there in 10 mins, my mum stood outside the property to get a call later saying they can’t make it so she was waiting outside with a broken foot and wasted her money on Ubers there and back. Rubbish estate agency.. the cheek to make excuses saying they are very busy, we are all busy! It’s your job!

Honestly I don´t know where to start

Honestly I don´t know where to start. But after speaking to their Regional manager it all makes sense. First thing they wanted was to get us to speak to their specialist panel of mortgage brokes that can get more deals etc. In contrast to the last estate agents we bought from they wanted a fee up front etc. They were also keen to market our house for us and I asked multiple times to send me a some information oin their fees etc which was avoided 3 or 4 times. We have seen house that has been on the market for overa year, I spoke to the vendors son while at the viewing and he explained they weren´t in a rush and wouldnt need us to have a an offer on our house to accept an offer. I asked him and he said no he was happy because they arent in a rush. We were loking to put anb offer in when a reginal manager i have never spoken to calls up again trying to market our house, I told him I didnt get a good feeling from them and chose another estate agent we had a better experience withg and he went on to bash them for not being able to get photos for 2 weeks. I said the marketing on the other company and the treatment is much better and I was going to use them anyway and he proceeded to send a whstsap message. I get my name is difficult but I am dyslexic and a sales person and I make sure I spell people name correnctly so I mentioned like I said before about trust and I will post the transcript below of teh cinversation.. You make up your minds if you would trust this person running a bussiness.

I will speak to Zeyad directly when we have our house on the market, considering 43 Island road has been on the market for over a year I am sure 2 weeks won´t make too much difference.

Allun; Professionalism, interesting, I merely answered a question. My professionalism, is getting the best possible outcome for my clients. Having been the top agent in my area for many years. It would suggest that I’m very good. I have informed Zeyad, and that’s fine. Being the best in the business, making a client wait 2 weeks for photos is ridiculous. Also, you said that the agent said said there are not many properties around you as evidence, again wrong. As I said Ferren, all the best to you 👍

Lots of unhappy people including no availability for photographs which is ironic. You have 3.2 rating with about 200 reviews. they have 4.8 out of over 1000 so yes I do trust them more.

Refuse scott from knightswood

Everything was fine until we had mould start to grow in our bedroom and bathroom. I called the estate agent who then sent the most arrogant unprofessional bully from a company called Knightswood, his name was Scott (REFUSE THIS PERSON SHOULD HE COME TO YOU) he tried to just paint over the mould with some old Wikes paint he got from the van. I asked him if the mould should be cleaned first but got told no, the paint he's using kills the mould and paints it in one. On the tub it just said wikes wall and ceilings. I googled it and it says nothing about mould treatment. I challenged him again and he got very angry and told me to get him a sponge and water and he'll wipe it away. I was very scared and got him what he asked for. Although I know this too would not work I was too scared to challenge him. I was glad when he left and will never ask mann to send someone again.

Worst estate agent (£1200 not refunded)

Worst estate agent, whole company is full of scam (its mortgage advice, solicitor panel). They have taken advance payment of £399 for solicitor search and £798 for mortgage for my potential buy. Later the seller pulled from process and I have asked for refund, but they are not refunding my money. This is worst company in the UK to deal with property, mortgage, solicitor panel.

Horrible estate agent. I accused her that this looks like a scam, why reference 2 people and then keep the money of the second person. I asked if they belong to an ombudsman or PRS, they voicemail my call since then. I can not get to speak with them on my mobile number. I had to use someone's number and they cut the phone off all the time. Ridiculous and they are nothing but a scam in Dartford branch. Shame on you Holly

Very good service overall

Very good service overall. The team were professional, friendly, and efficient throughout the process. A mention to the manager, Jamie, who was extremely helpful, approachable, and always happy to answer questions and explain things clearly. Communication was good and any small delays were handled well. Overall, a very positive experience and I would recommend Mann Countrywide.

Why choose Mann...

Had a very pleasant experience selling a property with Mann and that was down to Ria Strugnell the Gillingham branch manager. Ria was always on hand to discuss the sale and was helpful and constructive in her advice. The fees were mid-range but with the service we felt that it was value for money. Would recommend if buying/selling in the North Kent area.

Thank you so much to Nick in the…

Thank you so much to Nick in the Sheerness branch for all his help and advice whilst we were moving. Nothing was too much trouble and he was always at the end of the phone to answer questions. Any issues that we had he reassured us and made us feel at ease. If I ever move again I would not hesistate to go back to him. Thank you again.

Fareham branch hide property issues to get you into a contract

I recently viewed a property in fareham from the Locks Heath branch based on some nice photos advertised online. When I got to the property I was advised I would have to submit an offer form quickly as the previous viewer wanted to rent the property. Due to this and the current market, I very quickly viewed the property, didn’t see any clear or obvious issues, so submitted an offer form and was successful. When I moved into the property 2 weeks later, the paint was falling off the walls, there was thick black mould behind the kitchen sink, the toilet was broken, the boiler was broken (took 12 days to fix) , and a very clear and obvious damp problem throughout which had been hidden when I viewed the property. When the toilet was fixed, some tiles were broken and this showed thick black mould behind the toilet too. I have repeatedly requested I be allowed to wind back the tenancy agreement only to basically be told to piss off because I’ve signed a 12 month tenancy. Do not use Mann, they don’t give a damn about you.

I have to give a special shout out to…

I have to give a special shout out to Morgan, she’s been so brilliant at keeping me up to date with my flat purchase. I’m a first time buyer and she’s been so understanding and explains things perfectly if I’m unsure. I can’t thank her enough for sorting things out after the seller was dragging their feet!
She’s been a star with chasing and getting back to me with answers.
