UPDATE: Added a star because the site seems to offer a HTPPS connection; but does not always default to it and the connection load seems slower.

It is still not my preferred tech site.

Majorgeeks seems not to support a secure connection. Attackers would be able to see and change information you send or receive from the site.

That said. I have downloaded some useful utilities with my DMZ PC without issues thus far.

However, when possible, I download other desired utilities from sites with a secure connection.

In addition, their Majorgeeks Tweaks app is a waste if you use Windows 11 since all the tweaks for Windows 11 can be found elsewhere (with a secure connection) in a more efficient presentation than having to wade through tweaks which do not work with Windows 11.

Just be weary not everything on it is safe. I installed "Unlocker" from MajorGeeks and Windows security said "Potentially unwanted app found". It detected "PUA:Win32/BabylonToolbar" which is an ad bundler, not serious but annoying, PUP. I have downloaded something else from it too, and that one was safe. So it depends on WHAT you are installing from it> Before you install i reccomend copying the url and uploading it to VirusTotal. This will tell you if its safe or malicious. MajorGeeks is still a great site, but as on any site, be cautious.

They always seem to have the utility or info
needed to sort out PC problems that occur from time to time.
It's also a very clean and well organised resource site for troubleshooting.

Safety is my reason to choose majorgeeks for software downloads.

I vouch for major geeks, a real community and a clean site! Great deals on software too, they're a microsoft partner site so you can buy license keys here for MS office and windows etc

What a site! sooo much information. I have used them for many years. Every time I need tech info I go there. I even got rid of a MAJOR virus with their help. I HIGHLY recommend This sight. NEVER FAILED ME!

Very useful website for when I need to see what's new in the software industry. Never had a problem with them and I love how they test each product before listing them. One of the few websites I visit on a daily basis!

I joined MG (the Support Forum section) way back in 2007. The forum is an excellent resource. The folk are helpful. Also, the download section for software is well laid out, the best part being the ratings for each program.

Absolutley amazing site. Just cause it got a hyperlink doesn’t mean it’s a scam. I feel sorry for the people who avoid it.

Excellent resource for someone who needs something like latest driver and all in one place but honestly it's just not work like that anymore. We did see that all going no matter how you really put it. Today all you have is located in something like Windows 10.

Excellent at providing latest software downloads. Easy to use site with all the latest freeware, shareware, paid for and open source available to download off their file mirrors or the author's website. Great stuff really!!

Majorgeeks scans files for viruses and makes sure they don't like anything bad. The site is old school but that's just fine.
