I am writing this review to highlight a serious breach of hygiene compliance and shocking customer service at Made in Puglia (Market Halls/Food Hall next to Vauxhall Station) on July 18th, 2026, around 10:00 PM.

After ordering a vegetarian pizza, I stood near the counter and watched the food preparation process. The employee making the pizzas was not wearing gloves and was using his bare hands to handle toppings. I watched him prepare two non-vegetarian pizzas first, and then, without washing or sanitizing his hands, he immediately began assembling our vegetarian pizza.

When I politely asked if he had washed his hands before handling the vegetarian order, the employee became verbally abusive. When pressed further, he defensively claimed that I "should have explicitly requested" for him to wash his hands or wear gloves. Basic food hygiene and avoiding cross-contamination should be standard practice, not an optional request from a customer.

Seeking a resolution, I escalated the matter to the floor manager, Omar. Instead of addressing the core hygiene and behavioral complaints, Omar immediately tried to dismiss the issue by asking if I just wanted a refund or to take the pizza. When I explained the health and safety concern, his final conclusion was incredibly dismissive: he stated that because he didn't personally witness it, there was nothing he could do. He refused to provide an escalation email or any formal complaint procedure, explicitly telling me that posting a review online was my only option.

Because my family was hungry, I ultimately had to ask them to remake the pizza from scratch before we left, but the entire experience was deeply unsettling. Both the counter staff and the manager, Omar, showed a complete lack of care regarding compliance breaches and were solely focused on getting rid of the complaint. I will not be returning and strongly advise management to review their food safety protocols and staff training.

I order a pizza and a sorbet.
The driver brought the pizza upside down, the sauce was really sour, the pizza wasn’t cooked properly.
But the big problem, I bought a sorbet (vegan ice cream) they sent me a vanilla ice cream (is not vegan).
I asked my money back and couldn’t have it because the driver gave me the box (dirty outside), with no packaging, no receipt, melting lactose ice cream, and I was refused to receive my refund.
