Terrible service
Terrible service. They were slow, asked multiple times for the same documents after they were already submitted on their portal. Tricky around how much I was due to get In my claim and the final amount with surprise fee. Even after a formal complaint the service didn't improve.

Avoid Lyons Davidson - Useless firm

Poor service from start to finish
Poor service from start to finish. Everything is communicated over a portal and can take up to 5 days for a reply. They are not responsive and as you are not talking to any individual there is no sense of urgency or understanding. My case was very clear as it was a no blame claim for me but it took 2 years for me to see any compensation and even then it was because I did all the chasing. They kept saying all they can do is wait for a response from the other side and tgey are allowed to take months to reply. They got me less than minimum for what was a very traumatic time for me but they had no care. In the end I was just glad to closed off. Claim started Oct 22 finished June 24. This was a very straight forward case with liability accepted from the other party from day 1. And it took them 2 years to get me £800. This was not worth the stress they put me through.

Avoid legal cost insurances where your…
Avoid legal cost insurances where your case will be screened by Lyons Davidson, as they will do everything possible to assist their instructing insurer - in my case, the AA – to wriggle out of liability. In my view, my case was inadequately screened because the person responsible for the screening was most definitely not a details person. In fact, back in the day, I very much doubt she would have got through her solicitor’s final examinations. I am not being unkind – I am simply being honest. Regrettably, we must all live with the results of the dumbing down of the education system combined with corporate greed.

Shoddy investigation, poor communication, lack of clarity
The communication with this company is very poor, they hide behind a better than 51% chance of winning a case just so they keep the business from the insurance companies which I find very bad business, they allow money over the right thing to do.
My 75 year old mother was mis-sold double glazing doors based on lies from the salesman telling my mother her doors were not upto insurance standard and if she were broken in to they would not pay out, 2 days after she paid a deposit a locksmith was called out and told her the truth that in fact the doors were fine, we even had a letter from the insyrance company stating they would be covered, she cancelled the work as they doors were not needed.
The company in question wants to take my mother to court for none payment so we contacted Lyons Davidson through our insurance company only to be told what the salesman did was not illegal and Lyons Davison would not defend my mother and suggested she pay the balance.
They do not take or answer phone calls, they take 3 days to answer emails and your account is dealt with by a paralegal not a solicitor (they probably use a solicitor if they have the balls to actually go to court on something they can win)
There actions against not taking thius case is my mother broke the contract and she should pay, my argument is that there should never have been a contract for her to break had the company involved been honest from the outset.
The paralegal clearly had not read or heard of "Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008" when person who sold my mother the item misled her, guess that's why she's a paralegal and not a solicitor
I am not surprised they did not think they could win with sloppy investigation like this, we did not even want them to prosecute for mis-selling just defend against a company should they take my mother to court for none payment.
A very poor experience with this company, not because they refuse to take the case but the communication, they have not given a clear and concise reasons written down outlining each and every point with the evidence I have provided as to why they are scared of losing this case.
Shame on you Lyons Davidson.
My advice would be to choose a firm of solicitors that has some backbone, one that looks in to consumers rights, one who explains everything it does and the reasons why.

It has taken them 9 months to deal with my case. It has been a very slow process with them. Whenever I would ring them to chase an update, they would have an update, like by magic it only arrives when I ring to ask.
