Great location

Great location, very close to the station! It was perfect for me because I wanted to enjoy the city right up until the last minute before leaving.

Thank you for the kind hospitality and the clear, easy-to-understand information. It made my stay smooth and enjoyable.

Beware before you use this service

Beware before you use this service. The drop off location was closed when I arrived so I called their number and the owner called someone to let us in and we had to drop the bag without any claim check.
When we went to retrieve the bag the owner still wouldn't answer the door to activate the entry buzzer so I had to wait for someone to exit the building to get in and get the bag. After that I received a "No-show fee" for the full amount I paid for a daily rate. After prooving I was there, Luggage Hero put the blame on me because they said I didn't use the timer- but I paid the full daily rate where I didn't need to use a timer.
I still haven't gotten the refund and they don't respond. Good luck.

Quick, convenient and safe

Booking and paying on the website was simple, quick and convenient. The drop-off location was super-convenient for me. I just felt that the staff at the mini market, though efficient, couldn't be overly bothered. Importantly, I thought the live drop-off and pick-up procedure (timer, photo) was reassuring and felt safe.

I had originally booked this luggage…

I had originally booked this luggage storage service, but my travel plans changed and I never even left my luggage there. Several days later, I was unexpectedly charged €22 anyway.
I find this completely unacceptable. Charging customers for a service that was never used, without any clear warning or reasonable flexibility, feels unfair and dishonest. Customer service was unhelpful and showed no willingness to resolve the issue.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of other luggage storage options that treat customers more fairly and transparently.

Received a no show charge £25.04 Now refunded.

Received a no show charge £25.04 emailed them twice with proof of the drop off and received no response on either occasion.

Also raised a complaint on the chat bot again only automated response and nothing sorted.

Following this review a refund has been given, and if my emails had been answered a positive review would have been left .

Hi Nev, sorry for the experience. A missed refund and no reply is not the standard we hold ourselves to.

For context, no-show fees only apply when check-in isn't completed via the booking page on arrival, and cancellations are always free.

We'll be investigating why your messages went unanswered. Refund is on its way.

This is an update on my Nov 12 review

This is an update on my Nov 12 review.
Luggage Hero finally refunded their charge for the failed storage which resulted in or luggage being stolen.
I received the following from Matais of Luggage Hero back in March
Hi Ian,

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this; it shouldn't have taken this long.

I've refunded your booking fee in full. Please expect the refund to appear in your bank account within 5-10 business days.

On the insurance claim, you're on added coverage ($3,000), so your bags, clothing, iPad, and headphones are all within scope.
We do have your police report on file. However, the stolen property's value is recorded as $0.00, so the insurer can't assess it as it stands. You'll need to contact Melbourne East Police and request a supplementary statement that includes the list of stolen items and their estimated values. You can do this in person or in writing.
Additionally, our insurance is subsidiary, meaning your own travel or personal insurer needs to weigh in first. A formal decline letter from them is enough.
Once both of those are in, I'll make sure the claim goes straight to our insurer without any further delays.
For future reference, I've added your booking ID here: P-wHc-kru. I can see that your email is not associated with your booking as it was created with your mobile number.

LuggageHero

I followed through as requested and sent confirmation of decline from my insurer and the Victorian police updated the incident report with itemised valuation of goods.

Even though I have made 2 approaches for an update I have heard nothing .

The company stated my claim would be within the limits of Luggage Hero's insurer yet I feel they have simply wasted not only my time but that of my insurer and the Victorian police.

Basically none existent customer service and my original review remains.
Would not use or recommend this company to anyone

Overcharged

I don't appreciate that I have to start the timer for my bags being dropped off and the location of where I am placing my bags is obscure. Even worse, I was charged three times for the same booking and each time I tried to explain and ask for a refund they did not attempt to make it right. I was continually addressed by my email, not by my name, showing they didn't properly read my correspondence or research my booking.

Beware undisclosed excess charges!

If you sign up to use their service at an hourly rate, store your bags for a couple of hours, pick up your luggage, and fail to go on the app to stop the timer on the hourly charges, they will keep charging you all day long! A two-hour charge turns into a 12-hour charge. Their agent, of course, does not tell you about this when you pick up your bags. You only find out about it many hours later when they send you a message --after the storage location has closed and they have charged you as much as they possibly can. This is an absurd and dishonest system.

Avoid under any circumstances

Avoid this service. Would give 0 stars if I could. I'd booked, changed my mind, and decided to try to cancel the booking (no real option to do so easily, which is a red flag for any platform like this).

I'd been expecting to pay $4ish per hour to store my suitcases for 2hrs, so a total of maybe $16. I was lumped with nearly a $30 charge for a "no show". The amount is not substantial and it doesn't really matter to me, but it's embarrassing to have been caught unawares by what is very clearly an unscrupulous operator. I've asked for a refund for this charge, but I expect little better than I've seen from them so far.

The 'storage options' this service has access to are the backrooms and offices of convenience stores. You're paying for something most pubs and hotels will do for free.

Frankly, avoid - this is a scammy business model to begin with, asking for $ to store your bags in a convenience store, but is completely unreliable. I would recommend this service under no circumstances. If you're absolutely desperate to have your luggage stored in Perth for a couple of hours, I'll mind your bag for free if it means not giving more $ to this business.

UPDATE to ADD: this entirely superfluous charge was eventually refunded, which is better than nothing. Getting refunded for not using a product which would've been a waste of money to use is better than the alternative, I guess - but don't fall for it. This is a business model designed to take advantage of its customers. My experience has been resolved - yours might not be.

Hi Hamesh,

Thanks for the update confirming the refund came through. I'm sorry the cancellation process wasn't clearer up front.

Every booking can be canceled free of charge directly from the booking page. The no-show fee applies only when a booking isn't canceled before the start time.

Went round and round on the app…

Went round and round on the app repeatedly, trying to find a way to confirm a payment method so I could confirm the booking.
Impossible, infuriating, thoroughly pissed off.
Went to another supplier - would not use this company again, even if I could find a way to make it work.

Good customer service but better transparency needed

Update: I will add that after my complaint, the company did refund my insurance of £7, so that is appreciated.

As a first time user there were no instructions on how to use the app, particularly that I could remove insurance. It was all new to me so I dropped off 3 bags for 4 hours and got charged an extortionate £31!!! I just don’t see why they couldn’t have made it more clear. Identification of a new user to the app should be possible the moment they register, so why not send them an automated mail with clear information? I feel that £31 for 4 hours is extremely excessive. I will be doing my research more thoroughly next time I use a luggage storage company, but I’m afraid it will not be with Luggage Hero.
Additionally, I was given zero indication throughout the duration of what my ultimate charges would be, so I walked in blind to collect my luggage and a whopping bill for £31 is what I was faced with! Two small cabin cases and a rucksack. I’m very unhappy about what I feel this company could be doing to be more transparent with customers.
