Avoid the Venus Cafe at Watergate Bay.
We just spent a lovely week at the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall, where we enjoyed great weather and exceptional customer service from all the Watergate Bay Hotel staff. We spent a lot of the time on the beach where unfortunately we came across the Venus Cafe which I initially assumed was owned by the Watergate Bay Hotel. The customer service from this cafe soon made me doubt this; the staff were rude, uninterested, and on more than one occasion overcharged us! Some of the food was OK, and some was awful, but the overall attitude of the staff was the real problem, one girl in particular clearly couldn't care less! I am surprised that the Watergate Bay Hotel allow this cafe to operate, it is in stark contrast to the very high standards we enjoyed throughout the hotel’s facilities. I am sure that they could run the cafe themselves and offer a far superior service.
