Great experience no problems at all
Great experience no problems at all
New York experience.
We are not proactive with exchanges, Molly contacted us proposing to exchange for her Brooklyn flat. Once agreement had been reached we were left to communicate directly. The process was smooth and simple.

All went well and we enjoyed our time at the property, thankyou.
Too many professional rent out members. Better filter functions needed
We have been transferred from lovehomeswap. What we do not like w homeexchange is that there are too many members that are professionally renting out their property, so it a not home exchange. The original idea is build on trust, when you stay in each others homes. The system is often waisting our time: when we search for reciprocal exchanges we run into members who rent out in the period of our search. Homeexchange sends us automated match-mails w suggestions for profiles with point swaps only, or renting which we can not use, as we put our profil to only be for reciprocal exchanges.
Front page could be more customised: Headline is alienating:Quote: “A selection of houses based on your favorite criteria” in this pool of categories we get “petfriendly homes”, which is not a search criteria of ours. As an example. We are sure that you could do a lot better in this field.
Never make a promise you cannot keep. Under preferred destinations it is not possible to choose “anywhere” as we could at Lovehomeswap - we were glad to get suggestions from members interested in our place.
But again, if you could do anything in order to isolate results from members who are ONLY interested in reciprocal swaps, we would be very pleased.
Always helpful when need to contact
Slow answering but otherwise very good
It has always been a bit difficult to get an answer quickly, but after leaving a telephone message someone does call back, then the response was always helpful, patient and polite.
Great Opportunities
Great Opportunities: We are very happy with the number of places to choose from. The site is easy to navigate. We mave met many great people and have stayed in touch long after the exchange has been completed.
LHS we will miss you
We have been members of LHS for ten years. We have travelled far and have made friends in Sydney though exchanging homes. The customer service has been superb and personal. Home Exchange has good reviews so we hope that the good service will continue although the website needs to be more user friendly and we are not keen on the idea that they choose the Group points not us! Early days, early day. LHS we will miss you
The customer care has been key
We have had amazing experiences swapping homes with people from all over the world. Whenever there were questions or obstacles to overcome we contacted the LHS team and would talk to actual customer care people who would very responsive, personable, client oriented and came up with solutions that were better than we could have hoped for. That made the experience overall experience very pleasant and you feel like you are part of a community...not a business

Hopefully it will remain the same if not even better of a travelling partner.

I don’t like the charges involved in swapping for GP. I’m glad the merger has taken place with HE which offers a superior product.
In my experience Love home should opt for quality, not quantity
In my experience Love home is a specialty store. Home Exchange is a supermarket. I don't know anyone on LoveHome who is happy about this take-over of LoveHome by HomeEx.
Also, people still on both sites tell me, that HomeEx is not listening to their suggestions.
Used to be on Home Exchange before, but after HomeEx took over a couch surfing platform of kinds, I gave up. However, that did not stop HomeEx from bombarding me with offers of all kinds via Email for years.
Please note that points given away generously in order to boost traffic are spoiling the original idea.
Of course with massification you will increase revenue in a first phase and keep your shareholders happy.
In a second phase you may well loose some of the nicer and/or charming properties and turn into a Booking-like platform, with everyone trying to pay with points instead of money. Not my idea of share economy and collaborative consumption.
In a third phase you may have liability issues which could damage your reputation.
In a nutshell, your business strategy seems short-sighted to me. House swapping is an intimate business. It's quality does not improve with massification.
Also, I'm not interested in people's impersonal second homes used as a rental property with the occasional swapping.
Kind regards,
Werner Marti
My reason for joining a Home Exchange…
My reason for joining a Home Exchange organisation was the opportunity to swap homes with people living across the globe. It felt great to part of mutually beneficial community. Not only was it a very affordable way to travel, it also enabled one to discover unknown locations, experience life like a ‘local’, and remove the need of staying in a hotel or rental apartment which can feel very sterile.
It was most definitely did not involve:
1)buying points to enable me to stay in supposed ‘superior’ accommodation (based on a purely subjective assessment).
2) pay for the accommodation,
3) be offered insurance and any other financial service.
Whilst I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my years with Love Home Swap, finding it true to the original principles of house swapping, I have huge misgivings over its merger (submerging) with Home for Exchange which seems a far more commercially driven, less personal and specialised organisation, one whose remit is to maximise profits at the expense of its members quality of experience and care.
Fantastic home in a great area
Fantastic home swap, it has been a wonderful experience to meet our guest and enjoy such a beautiful property. We feel very privileged.
We love Love Home Swap
