If you're a tourist and don't speak the language, be careful!
They make no effort to communicate in any language other than Portuguese. There's no phone number to reach them. They charge outrageous insurance fees, claiming that the coverage you purchased through your booking site doesn't cover anything (even though the terms are clearly stated at the time of booking). When I returned the car, they charged me for two full tanks of ethanol even though only 10 liters of gas were missing—but where do you see that? The system seems to be well-oiled, especially when it comes to tourists, so if you’re not Brazilian and aren’t familiar with certain cultural norms, be very careful with this company.

I had a good experience at Londrina Airport, and the agent was friendly, courteous, and efficient. Was not a fan of the Citroen Basalt but it is an economy car. Pickup and drop off was an easy process.
Tive uma boa experiência no Aeroporto de Londrina; o atendente foi simpático, cortês e eficiente. Não gostei muito do Citroën Basalt, mas trata-se de um carro econômico. O processo de retirada e devolução foi fácil.

Quick resume, ECONOMYBOOKING tried to SCAM me, while Localiza, and especially Daniela Figueiredofrom, who did everything to help me clear the situation.

Absolutely abysmal service. Car ended up breaking down, they collected the vehicle the next morning and left me with Uber vouchers but didn’t terminate the rental. I was being charged every day, until I realised. I tried to call them but no one spoke English. In the end I was lucky I had someone who could go to the dealership and resolve the issue but it’s embarrassing how bad the service is and this “Luxury SUV” was… I have emailed a formal complaint and have yet to receive a response.
Good service, new good and clean car, quick collection and delivery and efficient shuttle
I rent cars on all continents, roughly around 15 times per year, there is no service like Localiza. A fresh wind in car rental space. Global brands better start learning from them if they ever want to enter Brazil market. I wish there was Localiza in every country in the world.

Super easy to rent a car. Helpfull staff that made it cheaper with hours.
New car, super clean and powerful enough. We got the best option for us from the guy behind the counter, he explained everything perfectly.
I am (or should I say was) a platinum status renter of this company. American married to a brazilian naive. My wife is there in Brazil now, turned in the car I had rented and was picking up one reserved in her name. At the counter, they refused to rent the car even though she had a proper reservation, brazilian papers including Drivers Licence, payment (both US and Brazil forms), and worst yet ... the agent could not explain any reason for the rental block nor provided any way to correct it.
If you want to get stranded, consider this company. I WILL BE LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT ONE NOW BECAUSE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
Even the just received reply from localiza is laughable. "We can't review your case as we don't have an account with you" ... not even asking me to provide my traveling account details, my (previous with them) platinum number, contract name / details. Passport, or anything.
IF YOU USE THEM AND HAVE ISSUES, KNOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

We rented a car online for 39 days in total. When we arrived at the airport, everything was smooth: printed the contract and gave us the key (credit card mandatory, no debit card). One of the tire was almost flat but we dealt with it.
When we arrived back, they ask us for an extra 9 days payment because we were apparently supposed to return the car back after 30 days! Out of nowhere, they changed a very small written return date in our contract, while keeping it written in big capitals "39 days contracts". Since we have used a credit card, there is nothing we can do! They are charging us an extra 30% of the price without our consent even though we have all documents showing that we already paid for the full 39 days before that!

The worst experience of my life. I booked the car while in advance for December and when I got to the office in Campo Grande-MS to collect the car, they simply said that my account was blocked and I would need to do another book( no explanation why, no reason as my drive licence, credit card, everything was correct) the price than was double of what I'd had booked for. I had no choice but pay because there were no cars for 7 seats available in any other places due the season. Never again!

Avoid for every price if you’re a forefinger. I paid reservation and they gave my car to someone else. They let me wait for 3 h giving away cars all this time. The main reason was the ladies speak zero English and feel uncomfortable to have any problem solving. I gave up and did not even get the money back. If you find another source boom directly ) localise seem to some sort of monopoly here but best is to book directly but the international provider.

I paid for fully comprehensive "Relax it's all covered" insurance on booking the car only to be told you are not covered for damage to a third party in case of an accident. If this was a mistake then they were lying!
